Immerse yourself in Margaret River history, with a trip to the retro beach shack - Salty Dreams.

Built in the 1960s, this humble abode is one of the first established buildings in the area. Although recently renovated, the shack still offers a funky feel-good vibe with traditional artistry, while offering the modern comfort of new appliances and furniture.

Located atop Prevelley Park, this coastal escape offers spectacular ocean views and is only 100m from the local beach & cafe.
The space
Brimming with character and a feel-good vibe, Salty Dreams will instantly make you feel like you're on holiday.

Once you arrive you can expect to be immersed in the sound of the ocean waves and the smell of the sea salt air.

This funky shack was one of the first established buildings in Prevelley and dates back to the early 1960s. The house has been passed down over generations, with the owners consciously ensuring the character and charm of the home remains unchanged. You can expect the original Moulin Rouge wallpaper, traditional period fireplace and large deck, so you can enjoy the local wines while taking in the spectacular ocean views.

With tasteful renovations completed to the bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen you will be enthralled with the easy to use amenities and relaxed setting you'll find yourself in.

The shack consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 study/reading room, 1 bathroom, 1 powder room, 1 laundry, a spacious living room, a quaint kitchen, and best of all, the spacious deck on the second story that has breathtaking views. The upstairs living room also has a split system air-conditioner to keep you toasty in Winter or cool in the Summer.

During the day you can enjoy a short morning stroll to the nearby beach and White Elephant Cafe. In the evenings you can appreciate board games, puzzles, a digital TV, DVDs and more while next to the crackling fire.

Salty Dreams really does offer a unique coastal getaway with the inclusion of whimsical charm and modern comfort.

Summer Holiday at Salty Dreams Beach House in Prevelly

We had a fantastic week's holiday staying at Salty Dreams beach house. The house is about a 5–8-minute walk to the beach. Great location to venture out to various tourists' spots. The view of the sea from the house kitchen, lounge, balcony and the one main bedroom is spectacular. Watching the sunset over the sea while having dinner at the kitchen table is a treat. The second bedroom upstairs has a lovely view of the tress on the hill side. The house was clean on arrival and the garden is well maintained. The house had all that was needed to enjoy time away from home. Beds are so comfortable which provided a good night's sleep after spending time out on adventures. The hosts Scott and Katrina were so friendly and accommodating. Many thanks for the fantastic week spent in your lovely beach house.

Sweet and Convenient

Older style two storey. Clean as a whistle. Comfy beds with enough blankets when cold. A wood fire with wood supplied. View to die for from kitchen, living and one bedroom. Stairs not convenient for anyone with difficulties with them. Lucky we were fit. Great central place for doing C2C walk. Short walk to beach. Friendly hosts who are nearby. Little kitchen with enough for a short beach break. Has a TV, but we didnt turn it on as too busy. Games and books galore. Comfy lounge.that.

Property improvements needed

I regret having to leave a negative review, but I don't recommend this property. Upon our arrivel, we were disappointed to find ants in the bedroom upstairs, on the walls and bed. This was not only concerning but also unsettling for us and impacted our comfort during our stay. The condition of the furniture, particularly the sofas and beds in the upstairs room with two beds, left much to be desired. There were old and uncomfortable. The leaving area lacked adequate seating for 7 people, and the chairs provided were old, wooden and uncomfortable. The kitchen facilities fell short of our expectations. The kitchen was small, with outdated wooden benches and a cramped dinning table. We also had issues with water leaking from the windows in the kitchen and the upstairs bedroom. The luck of a mop or additional towels to clean the floor meant we had to use our own towels, which was inconvenient. Despite promptly contacting the property manager, I have jet to receive any respond. The message from the host was unhelpful and did not address the issues. The absence of a dryer and dishwasher in the house added to the challenges we faced during our stay. The property have a stunning view and is situated in a fantastic location. However its essential to address the issues mentioned above to ensure that future guests can fully enjoy their stay. I hope this feedback proves helpful in your efforts to improve the property.

Love this property!

Can not rate the location of this property highly enough. The house is so lovely & the owners have done a wonderful job in finding the perfect balance between keeping it's older character and mixing it with some modern finishes. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous location

Lovely beach house. Super close walk to the beach. Nice backyard fully enclosed. Dog friendly. Will definitely be back.
