Private Lakehouse Retreat in Whitestone

You’ll be welcomed by twinkling lights along the laneway to your lakeside retreat. Located in a quiet inlet from the large part of the lake, you’ll be protected from boat traffic. Listen to the birds and enjoy your morning coffee on the walk-out veranda overlooking the lake. Jump into the clean water and soak up the sunshine in the Muskoka chairs on the dock during the day, and explore the stunning rocky shoreline and many fingers of Lake Wah-Wesh-Kesh on the provided kayaks and stand-up paddleboards in the afternoon. Relax, toast marshmallows and share stories around the outdoor fire pit in the evening, and after the sun has set, gaze up at millions of twinkling stars.

The large deck that wraps around the back and side of the lakehouse is home to a BBQ (propane provided) and Muskoka chairs to sit and overlook the lake and dock. Prepare your meals in a well-equipped kitchen complete with large and small appliances and plenty of dishes, platters and everything you need to prepare and serve delicious meals around the big harvest table with a view of the lake. This is the perfect place to gather around and play games in the evenings.

The extra-large living area has a soaring vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling window to let in the tree-filtered sunlight. On cool evenings, make a fire in the woodstove and cozy up under a blanket to enjoy a movie and popcorn.

You came to Makwa Lakehouse to get away and disconnect, but if you need to get some work done while you’re here, you’ll have a fast wifi connection for all of your devices from the Starlink satellite, and excellent service on your mobile phones.

After long days of fun, rest and recharge in one of the three bedrooms. The primary bedroom offers a king-sized bed with a closet for your use. The second bedroom offers a comfortable queen-sized bed with a dresser and the third room has space for four in the two sets of twin-sized bunk beds. A spacious closet has room for everyone’s things and includes board games and a booster seat/high chair for our littlest guests. If you need to do laundry during your stay, bring some detergent and use the new built-in washer and dryer.
