The condo is elegantly furnished in tropical prints and has a king size bed in the bedroom and hide-a-bed in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, blender and all cooking utensils. The gentle trade wind breezes flow thru the condo, with ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room, Air Conditioning is both in the Living Room and Bedroom and Free Wireless High Speed Internet. Beach chairs, Beach umbrella ,beach mats and beach towels are also provided. All you need bring is your personal belongings to our "Home Away From Home". A little piece of paradise!

My husband and I stayed here for the first time and were so impressed. The condo is well maintained, extremely clean and the kitchen had everything you’d need. The condo even had beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella & a small cooler. Perfect for relaxing! We also noticed that the complex outside was very clean and employees even cleaned the BBQs by the pools every day! The location was perfect to walk to beach, restaurants, coffee shops and more! So easy to get into “Island life” while staying here.

Relaxing home away from home condo. Hawaiian sunsets...a little peace of heaven!!

Everything we read about was true! The condo is in the perfect location in Kihei. Across the street from Kamaole II beach (the condo is located in the last building up a hill, so quite a bit of walking to the beach but strolling by gorgeous plants and flowers makes it worthwhile) to great restaurants (Coconut’s Fish Cafe coconut shrimp is a must-have!!), supermarkets and just fun shopping! The sunsets from the lanai are indescribable. The condo is fully equipped for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Mahalo, Joan! We hope to return one day...

Am so happy you enjoyed your stay in D-504. Having a cocktail on the lanai watching the sunsets is one of my favorite things as well. The view of the ocean and sunsets is a sweeping view. Kihei Akahi is noted for it's beautiful landscaped grounds. The 3 to 4 minute stroll down the drive does give the opportunity to view these blooming plants up close. An Extraordinary Property

This was our first time to visit Maui and there were any number of choices. The property was conveniently located in the the heart of Kihei -with an easy walking distance to a great beach. The ocean views from the balcony were memorable. The condo itself has been recently refreshed - making it a very comfortable stay. The kitchen was expertly stocked with all we needed for meal preparation. The amenities (pool and barbecue) were easily accessed and the parking was monitored for an extra safety feature. Joan provided all the information we needed and checked in with us to make sure all was well. We have used VRBO in the past - this was one of the best experiences we have had. You can be sure you will not be disappointed if you choose to use this as your Maui vacation hub!

Great location

I loved Kihei Akahi. It is a great, well kept property conveniently located across the street from an excellent beach and accessible to many restaurants and shops. I also used one of the pools, which was very clean and a perfect temperature. This unit has an amazing view from the lanai and we enjoyed sitting out there a lot! The unit was well equipped (kitchen and beach gear) and as pictured. It is a little dated, but was clean and in great shape. Check in was easy and we had no problems during our stay. The air conditioning was a definite plus. Only downside for me was the bed, which I found uncomfortable. My son slept well on the pull-out though.

Glad you enjoyed the unit and the great views from D504. New kitchen cabinets are scheduled for this unit unit as soon as the supply chain issues get better. I have not had complaints on the bed but I will check it out in a few weeks when I am on island. Joan (owner of D-504)

Great place for the price!

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our experience in this condo. There was more beach supplies than in the original listing, including multiple kinds of chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, beach towels, and coolers. The kitchen was fully stocked with wide array cooking equipment and tools. The location was amazing, nice and quiet off the main road. The A/C worked well! Our only complaint was that the bed seemed old, with two valleys where people slept and a large ridge in the middle. I would recommend the host upgrade their lock and key system to a digital/code lock for ease of use. We would highly recommend this condo and would be happy to return!

VERY GOOD CONDO

Location: Facing the ocean widely. Excellent location for watching sunset. Walk to the beach is a short and pleasant distance. The plants/flower plants along the walkways and around the building are well selected and clearly name on the instruction/introduction. Room: Well-kept high quality Funiture. Most of the kitchen appliances are nice, useful, and expensive! Very clean and practical setup room. Everything is in the closets; this is neat! Services: Excellent. Ms. Romkus responded to email promptly, straight forward, and clear. When I had some minor concerns, Ms. Romkus made it easy for me to make little changes. I enjoyed corresponding with her Recommendation: Highly recommended. We will come back stay in this room again soon.

Property and Owner Joan a delight!

Ive been going to Maui for the last 30 years and stayed on the West side the 1st 25. Only in the last 5-7 years have we been staying on the South side, in Kihei or Wailea. The Kihei Akahi property, especially bldg D, and specifically D-504 is fabulous. Clean, spacious for a one bedroom, loved the beach gear, towels, coolers and beahchairs stored in the cabinet for use. Everything in great working order, and the owner Joan was a delight to communicate with. I'll be back!

Lovely location and wonderful view.

The condo is a one bedroom, not a studio as listed. The furnishings are dated, but everything is clean and usable. The kitchen has a good supply of cooking gear, but there was no set of basic food items (we bought and left some salt and pepper). The view made everything just fine as we watched whales spouting and swimming from the lanai (we brought binoculars which made it all the better). The grounds are lovely and very well kept. The local staff is also great. We walked to the beach, to stores and restaurants from the condo and enjoyed not having to rely on our car. Joan mentioned updating the kitchen cabinets soon, and I'd recommend getting a new bed (the current one is too firm and lumpy) and at least new pillows (the current ones are flat and hard). Overall we were happy with our stay and will return in the future!

Thank you for your input. With mattresses some like it firm and some like it soft. This one is only a couple years old and is supposed in the mid range with regard to firmness. I have never had a complaint about it. Your comments on it being lumpy tells me that the mattress pad is not laying flat. I will be out within the next month and check that out.

Perfect place for our vacation

When we booked our place, we based our final choice on the view. This condo has a wonderful view of the ocean. We could sit on the lanai and eat breakfast and have our coffee in the morning watching the ocean and listening to the birds in the trees. We didn’t stay in our place much, but it has most everything you need for the trip. We cooked a couple dinners there and te grills down at the pool are meticutmaintained. The pool was well maintained, as is the entire property. Joan’s place is a bit dated but very clean. We appreciated the AC, as it was a very hot time to visit. The beach chairs are in a cabinet behind the bedroom door. We didn’t notice that until our second day. The bed was big and decent. I would really have liked sleeping in it much better if the sheets were cotton. The sheets were quite hot and were pilled especially by my feet. Which kind of made it feel like they were sandy. The unit could also use some new towels. They are getting a bit worn out, especially the wash cloths. Just a couple suggestions to make this place even better! We didn’t use the TV, so I don’t know if it was good but I imagine so. Wifi worked fine. As a suggestion, it would be nice to add a few decks of cards or a couple more games. We had a fabulous stay! Amazing view, beautiful condo

My husband and I spent three weeks in December at D- 504 . Spacious, clean, beautiful view, lovely clean grounds. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back. Thank you. We had a glorious time.

Great Location

The view from G504 is beautiful. Condo was very clean, no bugs at all. We cooked every night and had everything we needed. Grills were very clean as well as the pool which was cleaned daily. We will stay here again. Joan was very responsive before we came and when I had a question regarding the parking pass. Washer and dryer we great to have in the unit. Thanks Joan for a nice stay. July Work Trip

Room was clean and had a great view. It was a hot time when we visited, and location of wall AC unit in living room made bedroom cooling difficult. We had to lower AC temperature and use fans to relay colder air into bedroom. It took a few days to cool that room off for comfortable rest. It was a work trip. so we didn't get to enjoy parks and beach. Next time.

Aloha, Glad you liked the view and location of Kihei Akahi D-504. This summer has been unusually warm in Kihei and during these times the window AC does not work well to cool the bedroom . Given the increasing warmer summers we are installing a split system air conditioner unit with a separate handler and control in the bedroom and another handler and control in the living room. This work should be completed by the end of Sep and will very quickly cool all parts of the condo down. The front windows will also be replaced with insulated sliders keeping much of the afternoon sun out.
