This is a three bedrooms villa which offers the most magnificent striking 180 degree view of four bays: Rendezvous , Hart , Chocolate Hole and Great Cruz Bay, as well as St Croix and the island of Pillsbury Sound to the west.

Located on top of the mountain and at the very end of Rock Ridge road, only 5 minutes away on all paved roads form Cruz Bay, the house gives total privacy and tranquillity. The roadside leads you into the courtyard. An exotic landscape of native and tropical plants welcomes you to your new vacation home, where you could enjoy sun bathing and the pool in a relaxing and peaceful setting.
The villa seats on an elevation of about 700 feet and is also only 15 minutes away from all the most fantastic beaches of the Virgin Islands National Park, and the fine restaurants, beaches and amenities of the Westin Resort are within 5 minutes reach. View of the most amazing blue sea can be enjoyed from every single room of this villa. The location, the views and all the comfort of the house, will this house a place where you will want to come back.

This is a unique one level design villa that has 13' high arched doors and windows and 25' beamed cathedral vaulted ceiling. You will drive through an impressive drive way to arrive to these spectacular three bedrooms, two bath villa. A very tall arched door enters you into the very spacious living room with imported tiles and mahogany and wicker furniture. This cosy indoor spot has many Caribbean details that will make your stay very comfortable. The Cable colours TV/DVD and stereo CD player are in this area.

The view is absolutely spectacular! The host and her team were wonderful to work withā€”responsive, friendly, and attentive. We arrived later than planned, and they stayed in constant communication to ensure everything went smoothly and that we were well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Great views

The location was convenient to everything. Proximate to Cruz Bay with very nice views. The house suited our needs well but is showing some age and wear and tear. The living space got pretty warm since there is no air conditioning in that area and the breezes didn't cool things off a whole lot (but there is A/C in the bedrooms). Nothing terribly concerning, though. Claudia was very responsive and easy to work with. The property management team met us as agreed and escorted us to the property, so no issues there.

A months stay!

We gave the villa 5 stars. Communication with the host, who was very accommodating, we would give a 10. The cleaning crew worked very hard and we would give them a 10. The view and the pool were wonderful. We were there for a month and had a great time. We would suggest replacing the sofa and loveseat which are getting worn.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The home is at the top of a hill and has an excellent view. The owner and property manager are both great communicators and very kind and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home.

Mar de Amores is an exquisite villa located on the beautiful island of St. John. From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely blown away by the breathtaking views of the ocean and the luxurious amenities that the property had to offer. The online pictures and description of Mar de Amores were accurate and did not disappoint. The villa was beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated, with every detail carefully considered to provide maximum comfort and relaxation for guests. We were particularly impressed by the close proximity of the villa to Cruz Bay, which allowed us to easily explore the island's many attractions. The property managers were incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing us with all the information we needed to navigate the island and make the most of our stay. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the villa's pool and large patio area, which offered stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. We spent many hours lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the island. If you are looking for a luxurious and unforgettable vacation experience, we highly recommend Mar de Amores. It truly is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy all that St. John has to offer.

privacy in paradise

It was like walking into a fairly tale. The decor was lovely. The views amazing. Very homey. We stayed for a Month. Fully stocked kitchen. Cleanliness superb. Everything is on one floor. Birds every morning singing and creatures provided nighttime music. Curtis was always helpful whenever we called him. We will definitely be booking again

Beautiful view but some areas for improvement!

Really good family trip! And St. John is amazing. My grandson really loved the pool feature. The views were amazing! Home feels like an older built, it reminded me of 60ā€™s style build and overall felt like the owners have abandoned the property somewhat in upgrades and more importantly, maintaining it. Drawers were hard to pull out or wonky, and cabinets/furniture is older and needs to be replace. Linens wouldnā€™t cover the mattress because it was curling. Centipedes in the house and some weeds and overgrowth. Shower heads were old and not spraying well. Bowls and utensils are older and cheaper. No air conditioning in the main part of the houseā€”so it gets really hot. The on-site crew showed up to fix/build an outdoor table and we didnā€™t have any notice so that was a surprise l. The whole house needs an overhaul and face lift. With that, this would have been a four/five star rating. All that said, the view was beautiful and the bedrooms did stay cool, plus we had a great time, so all is well!

Sept. Vacation

The view was incredible and with the heat, it was so nice to be able to cool off in the pool. St Johnā€™s has some of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. Curtis and Myrtle were extremely helpful, meeting us at the ferry and driving us to get our jeep, then taking us to our house. The house was very comfortable and we had a wonderful visit.

Family Fun

We really enjoyed our stay on St. John and Mar De Amores was even more beautiful than the pictures! The view was stunning and the house was clean and well equipped. There are beach chairs, coolers, towels and snorkeling equipment. A short drive to Cruz Bay for restaurants and the beaches were within 15-20 minutes (get there early for a parking spot)! Extremely responsive and accommodating host. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the deck and cooling off in the pool! Would highly recommend and would stay there again!

The check in process was easy, the managers were all very friendly and helpful (especially when we locked ourselves out oops). The house is beautiful and quiet, clean and has great views. We will be staying there again for sure!

The property is stunning inside and out. The drive up to the house is typical of all the roads on the island, steep and winding, but not difficult after the first time. The property managers and owner were very responsive.

Winter Summer at Mar de Amores

We had a great stay. The house is one of the best VRBO experiences I've had. The views were wonderful of the ocean, stars, and birds. The home had all we need, beautiful deck, small pool. Just 5 minutes from Cruz Bay, easy to access all beaches (in the same way any location on St. John is), more peaceful than staying in Cruz Bay. The cleaning, and maintenance staff were all wonderful. I loved the gardens, watching the hummingbirds and bananquits fighting over the flowers. I now know what a true 5star experience is. The drive to the home can be challenging for some but I had no problem.

Pretty views, clean.

Wonderful views, and clean, the house sits at the end of a very steep road. It has one king en suite, and two queens with a shared bath across the hall. There was AC in the bedrooms and ceiling fans in living area. The pool is very small, but deep. More a plunge pool than a swimming pool. It was refreshing and very nice at the end of the day. It might be a problem with small children since it is directly off the house and easily accessible. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped but the basics like salt and sugar, oil and vinegar were not provided. Groceries are really expensive on St John and we ended up buying these staples but used very little. Weā€™ve stayed at many VRBO spots, and although this one was fine, we would not stay here again. We decided to come to St. John at the last minute and Iā€™m sure there would be other places to choose from if we decided earlier. The house sits above a road and we heard horns and music as cars/trucks passed by. By the way, Kiara, who met us at the dock and manages the house, was delightful!
