Beautiful Few Steps from the Sand

Just a breath away from the ocean... Nicely decorated and appointed. The home features two fireplaces. Beautiful beach. Pets are NOT allowed, No Smoking.

Please disregard the negative review written in 2014. Unlike the review, all windows have coverings. We also have plates, cups, cooking utensils, pots and pans, quality flatwares (not plastic), and WiFi . Also, please be assured that the house is cleaned immaculately by a professional cleaning crew. Please note that the reviewer who wrote in 2014 depicted some false accusations including comment about the odor which was not true.
Also, some furnitures were updated in the living room. There is a 70 inch Samsung HD smart TV with internet access in the living room. Also, there is another TV in one of the bedrooms. All of the bedrooms were updated with brand new luxury vinyl plank flooring in March 2022. You have access to huge deck (about 400 sq. ft) next to the kitchen where you can BBQ and dine outdoors. Rooftop deck and a small balcony next to the living room are not part of the rental at this time.

House is in Oceano residential beach area steps from the sand. It is located few steps from the Pismo State Beach and it's very close to the sand dunes.

The house is in a great location! Steps from the beach. Communication with the host was 10/10. Check in was flawless. The house was great for my family! Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Nice big porch with lots of seating. Would definitely stay again.

Steps from beach… not quite, more like 7 minutes!Do you enjoy filthy living conditions, sleeping on a bare box spring, dirty carpets, a clogged hall shower, a toilet in the primary suite that does not flush, dirty dishes placed back into the cabinets, and a front door that cannot be properly secured? If so, this might be the place for you.Despite the listing asking guests to disregard a 2014 review, I strongly recommend that you do not. Many of the issues mentioned there are still present.I requested a refund through Vrbo and also disputed the charge with my credit card company. This was the worst Vrbo experience I have had. In my opinion, this rental should be removed from the platform.

Best VRBO we have stayed at! Perfect for family and friends. Very clean and fully stocked. Don't forget your firewood, only a few steps away from the beach and fire pits. Great communication with property management as well. Would absolutely stay again!

A short walk to the beach

Awesome spot just a minute walk from the beach. The place is pretty large and can fit you all comfortably. Loved sitting out on the balcony and watching the sunset and hanging out by the water. Overall awesome spot

Great!

Our stay was clean and comfy.. The property is a 1 minute walk to the beach. You can also walk to a market, stores, and restaurants. Great views of the Oceano dunes and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach as you enjoy a beverage on the deck. Highly Recommended!

Needs TLC

Positives: The property location is great. Beach access is so close! We loved the upstairs and down stairs refrigerator, the big couch and the deck. Negatives: The oven didn't work and we had planned our meals around using an oven. It is definitely a "bring everything" kind of place- as in: bring a sponge, a dishtowel, salt and pepper.

Very clean, close to the beach overall great stay

Everything was clean and comfortable, we loved the big deck. My only complaint is the kitchen, stove is really old and doesn’t work well, same with the coffee maker. Toaster didn’t work at all and very limited pots and pans. Overall nice place, I would stay again, just bring a few extras with me next time 🙂

Very Disappointed!

We were very disappointed with the condition of this property. The upstairs toilet was clogged; three electrical outlets in the kitchen did not work; the refrigerator leaked water; the carpets were stained in several rooms; the walls were scuffed and stained; the track for the vertical blinds was broken; the downstairs lamp was broken; and the general condition of the house was shabby. I attempted to explain this to the property manager who reasoned that she had just painted the property, we got a good deal on it, and I should have reported the problems sooner. She was generally rude and refused to accept anything I told her as the truth. I took pictures of everything mentioned above and will be happy to provide those to your company. Speaking of pictures, nothing on your website matches the current condition of the house. I've stayed at several properties through Vrbo but will probably try someone else next time. I demand to be refunded the amount I paid for this rental. Contact me to discuss further, thank you.

Never Again

My husband and 12 year old son arrived first as they drove up early to go fishing; they aren't picky at all. They called me right upon arrival stating this place is a "dump". They asked me to bring all our own blankets, towels and pillows as well as paper towels, dish soap and body soap. They did have a small amount of dish soap and hand soap and that was all. During our stay we also had to buy TP as they had 4 small rolls (we had 4 adults and 3 kids for 3 nights). This place does not look like it is maintained; I know reviews aren't great and I saw all the replies stating that it is normal wear and tear from being by the ocean- I have stayed at many other beach houses that are maintained properly. Also- this is more than "steps" to ocean; which wasn't a big deal. The one patio you do have access to doesn't look like the pictures and the view is NOT what you think it will be. There is also a old worn couch and plastic chairs as the patio furniture with 2 gross bbq's (our husbands bought a new one and bbq'd up front as they didn't even want to be on patio). We brought bikes; were not aware you don't get access to garage (small outdoor area out back is where we had to keep bikes). There are notes everywhere with locked closets, not to use dressers, garage etc. Towels had long hairs, tub had black mold (not at all like picture), TP holders were rusted. I could go on and on but will stop there. Please pay attention to reviews, we didn't have many options as it was a later booking and I wish I believed the reviews. Would NOT recommend.

Great location but bare minimum home

We chose this house because of the proximity to the beach. Beach access at the end of the street that was great! The listing pretty much describes the house and most of the reviews speak the truth minus a few. The outside of the home is very worn, I'm sure a lot has to do with the salt water, thankfully it was pretty clean inside. The house had the bare minimum for guests. There is enough space for 8, but the pull out couch is broke on one corner(my 12yr old was still able to sleep on it) and we were told to bring our own bedding for it. There was a sheet on it, but our thoughts were if there are beds for 8 there should be bedding for all beds, but at least we knew ahead of time. The kitchen has enough to get by, but the toaster didnt work, there was no cookie sheet and there was no kitchen towels or pot holders. There is a dresser in the first bedroom(one with a queen bed) that says you can not use, you can't even set things on top of it because it is broke. That should probably be moved out of there. The bed itself felt like a pull out couch in terms of comfort. The other 3 beds in the rooms were more comfortable. There were no hangers and only access to 1 closet via the master bath. There was a note not use the closet in the 2nd bedroom and the first bedroom didn't have a closet. There wasn't enough bathroom towels for 8 either, luckily we packed extras. We knew ahead of time we wouldnt be able to use the balcony off the living room or the rooftop. It would've been great to see the view up there, but my GUESS was the stairs were not safe. The balcony we could use was large, but the flooring wasn't in the greatest condition. I would recommend taking some pictures when you first arrive of the condition of the home. There was a stain on the carpet in the master bedroom when we arrived, but we didnt take a picture so the owner stated we did it even though it was already there, we had no way to prove it. Now we did get our deposit back because we paid the inital $59 damage waiver covering up to $1500 in damages so this was no extra money out of our pockets for the carpet. It just would've been nice not to be blamed for something we didnt do. Overall if you are just looking for a place on the beach where you can sleep and nothing fancy this house would be great for you. Just make sure you bring extras of everything. As I said this is an excellent location, but very bare minimum is provided.

Beach house stay

The property was in a great location didn’t have to drive far to the pier and the beach was walking distances. The house was roomy a little dirty could clean a little better. Sheets on pull out bed were filthy n dishes were dirty, webs around the house..

Decent Home but needs some TLC

This is a decent home that was clean but needs some TLC. Property manager was great and provided timely communication. The home is right next to the Dunes beach so if you’re looking to take advantage of those activities it will work great for you. It’s not too far of a drive to get to downtown Pismo. The property manager has made some recent upgrades but the property still needs some TLC. The size of the home does make up for those shortcomings.

Beach house fun

Plan on returning

Everything was as expected, which is not always the case. Great location, walking distance to Oceano dunes and just 2 miles away from Pismo. Close to store to buy groceries and restaurants. I plan on returning next year

Perfect location

Booked this property to celebrate my birthday. Perfect location for what I had planned. Beach is footsteps away and atv rental locations were right around the corner. Owners communication helped me feel right at home. Will recommend this property to my family and friends.

Decent Stay with Hidden details

My family had a nice stay at Oceano. We had a very brief stay at the house. Pros: • Esther was really sweet and was easy to get ahold of. She also remedied any concerns I brought up to her. • There are two refrigerators for all the food we bought. • The available patio by the kitchen is spacious and nice. • Clean up is pretty straightforward and reasonable. • The house was clean upon arrival. • We got to use the washer/dryer and they work well. Cons: • The Vrbo description does not have full details. I got the rest of the details though a contract I received via email a few weeks before the trip. I had to sign the contract and provide personal informations (i.e. driver license, names of people staying, car plate number). I couldn't cancel because I would not get my money back. On the positive side, Esther worked with me and I didn't have to provide the personal information I did not feel comfortable disclosing. • There's only 2 parking spaces. The contract sent via email said 3. There was another small space that would fit a small FIAT so that would be a potential 3rd parking spot. There's also no parking available on the same street. • There were lots of rules written around the house on furnitures/wall, such as not being able to use a drawer or eat on a table. Other Misc notes: • Lock for the key was a bit hard to open. No instructions were given on how to open it. But I'm sure Esther would have answered that if I called. • House has the bare essentials (i.e. towels, sponge, Dish soap). • The patios that are off-limits (for good reasons) looks rundown and unsafe to walk on. Please do not let your children go out there. • The exterior of the house is very rusty compared to all of the houses on the same street.
