We are a ā€œcoastal modernā€ beach cottage located in the beautiful city of Dana Point, California. The beach cottage is part of a duplex. The cottage featured in this listing is a 3-bedroom and 2-bath (half of the duplex). *[If you're interested in renting the other half of the duplex it is also available for rent, a 2-bedroom/1 bath cottage (VRBO listing 732348). Book both sides for a large family group, which can sleep up to 14 people.]

This recently remodeled luxurious 3-bedroom and 2-bath home is located just a half a mile from the beautiful beach. To take advantage of all the fun in the sun we offer 6 beach cruisers, surf & boogie boards, a stylish patio, and so much more!

Inspired by the easy breezy feel of beach living and modern luxury, the Capistrano Beach Cottage has been designed with hotel-like appeal while providing a relaxed beach-life atmosphere. Get away from the everyday and escape to luxury right here!

Location, Location, Location! Walk to the beach! The Capistrano Beach Cottage is conveniently located Ā½ mile (just a 10-minute walk) to the beach, and a few minutes away by car to local grocery, restaurants, and the most breathtaking beaches in all of Southern California.

The beach cottage has been designed to provide you with similar luxuries to a resort-style hotel. The master bedroom features a cozy king bed, and crisp white linens. Open the barn door to the luxurious ensuite bathroom featuring a custom walk-in rain shower, his and hers vanity, and a private restroom. The bathroom comes stocked with spa-style robes and slippers, a one-day supply of hotel-sized toiletries, hair dryer, and other essentials.

The second bedroom features a comfortable queen-sized bed, crisp linens, and plenty of comfortable blankets and pillows. The third bedroom is perfect for the kids, with a full and twin sized bunk bed plus a trundle on the bottom, and everything that is needed for a relaxing nightā€™s sleep after a long day at the beach.

Unlike many of the properties in the area, our cottage features central heating and air conditioning to keep cool on warm summer days. Need to do laundry? No problem! Weā€™ve got you covered with a full-size washer and dryer, along with all you need to make your clothes fresh and clean. Bath and beach towels are provided for your stay compliments of us.

Why dine out when you can make an amazing meal in our fully stocked gourmet kitchen? We have everything you can possibly think of for cooking up a storm -- an assortment of cookware, bakeware and kitchen staples such as spices, condiments, oils, sugar, butter, flour, coffee, tea, and more.

The beach cottage has been designed for your ultimate entertainment experience with an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen to chat with your guests. The living room boasts a flat screen TV with over 150 channels, a DVD player, and Wi-Fi access.

Step outside to the stylish patio furnished with a comfortable, vacation-club inspired sofa set, gas BBQ, retractable awning, and the perfect surroundings of the natural beauty of this quiet neighborhood.

Looking to take a bike ride down to the beach? We've thought of it all! We have four top-of-the line beach cruisers and two childrenā€™s scooters waiting for you to take for a spin! There is also an assortment of beach equipment available for your use, including surf boards, body boards, beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler. All of which are available for you to use at any time.

Works great for family of six. Very comfortable beach cottage that had recent renovation. Close ride to beach option in Dana, or up Route 1 to Laguna beaches, or south to San Clemente. The beach chairs, umbrella and conveniences are a bonus! Bikes look great. Enjoyed trip to Catalina Island with close ride to Dana Harbor. Easy enough to cook a few meals, use the grill, etc. Definately recommend for a practical family vaca.

Host seems in it only for the money

I booked this stay last minute because my child had an expected medical appt in the area so we decided to spend the weekend. I originally book thru VRBO and thought everything was fine. I then got a message from the host saying because it was last minute I would have to cancel and book thru the competing air site. Because options in the area were slim I obliged, however thru the competing site I was then charged by the host over 150 more which felt unfair. If the listing isnā€™t available for last minute bookings then donā€™t have it available to book last minute. The beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable so if you stay here I advise at the least bring your own pillows. Even at 72 it gets extremely hot in the house because there are no overhead fan circulation and only two small fans in the house. The kitchen has no cutting board and is very limited with its stock. There are signs everywhere saying no sand in the house or you will be charged, I understand excessive sand but being a house geared towards the beach itā€™s inevitable that you will get some sand in the house, coming from the beach to the house to shower itā€™s impossible to leave the all the sand behind. If you need a late checkout donā€™t bother asking because they will not provide it. In fact the maids were waiting at the door 15 minutes before we were due to checkout which I felt was unprofessional. Overall host seem more about charging for everything over guest experience

Dana Point vacation

The VRBO was clean and inviting. There were 3 travelers in our group and we were happy to each have our own bedroom. The kitchen was great! It had everything we needed to make a few meals and hang out. When I contacted the management about a burner knob coming off, they responded immediately and sent someone over within 20 minutes. Very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this unit and would stay again if/when coming back to Dana Point, CA. The only complaint would be the neighbors who park in the street and their vehicle blocks a small portion of the driveway, making it a little difficult to get in and out. Otherwise a great place to stay!

Beach bike get away

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We actually live in San Diego, but wanted to see a different part of the coast and found this rental on Airbnb. In the description over and over it talks about the beach and the bikes. This is the main reason we went with this property. We envisioned ourselves riding bikes along the beach daily. I even looked at a map to be sure how close we were to the beach. What the maps and the booking donā€™t tell you is that to get to the beach there is a huge hill! Iā€™m not kidding. It is the tsunami escape route, thatā€™s how steep it is! So we never got to use the bikes and that was a huge disappointment. So I just want to let others know. Other than that a nice place. But the beachiest thing about it is really the decor.

We are your hosts, Miriam & Bryan. Our most enjoyable trips have been in vacation homes. We like the ability to cook our own meals, plus it makes traveling more affordable so we can spend money sight seeing and doing other stuff we enjoy. However the one thing we found lacking in many vacation homes was the sense of style and luxury we enjoyed at the nicer hotels and resorts. For this reason we wanted to offer something that combined the best of both worlds. We started the first Capistrano Beach Cottage in 2015. After realizing how much we enjoyed creating memorable vacation experiences for travelers we decided to do it all over again with the second Capistrano Beach Cottage. We created both beach cottages with a 5-star resort in mind. We wanted the decor to be crisp and clean, the linens to be of the same caliber as a luxury hotel, and the patio to feel a zen and tropical vacation club. We truly hope our beach cottage sets the atmosphere of your own private resort. We want our guests to create lasting memories of their California vacation in our home :)
