Great rental for big groups!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent five nights at the White House on the Horseshoe for a family vacation and it was excellent! The location cannot be beat. You are steps from the river through your private access gate. Also, the part of the river you come out to is shaded with lots of space to lounge, and the water is deep enough in that area to swim or drop in on your tube. We were able to watch/listen to a concert at Whitewater from our balcony on Saturday. You can definitely hear the bass from inside the house with the doors closed, but itā€™s not overwhelming and did not interfere with those that went to bed before the show was over. The house itself was spotless with more than enough space for a big group. The fact that each room has its own bathroom and thermostat is a major plus. Our group spent much of our time sharing meals and doing puzzles on the long tables, and playing games or just chatting on the comfy sofas. We really enjoyed watching through the floor to ceiling windows as a storm rolled in on one of the days we were there. The only issues we had are that the cookware is pretty worn with the nonstick coating flaking off, and also there is no storage in the kitchen for pantry items or in the bedrooms for your clothes. Even so, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this house to anyone!

The kitchen was nice with huge center counter and enough spaces for our group of 14 people move around. The house is open floor plan, very nice for large group activities. Every room has its own bathroom that is a big plus for every family. The property well maintained and clean. Easy communicate with manager. We had a great time here.

Amazing House!

This house was amazing and was exactly as described. My friends and I go on a river trip every year. This is our 16th year with the same group of 30 friends. The house fit everyone perfectly. Every four people had their own bathroom and nobody had to deal with bunk beds. The ice maker was our favorite part. The only downfall is the outside porch was pretty small. It came with plenty of chairs but we couldn't all fit out there at the same time. We put corn hole boards down by the fire pit but you had to walk down the steep stairs to get to it, so only a few of us went down there. (Being all over 40... as Toby Keith would say, we aren't as good as we once were. LOL). The float was nice and wasn't too long. We drove to the entrance of the horseshoe and it was extremely convenient to float right down to the house. The only problem with that is, it's the same exit as everybody else on the river so it was very crowded. Half of the group doesn't float anymore so they normally just take chairs down to the river and hang out in the water waiting for us to float down. This year there so many people, it made it impossible for them to do that. So, all in all, it was a great trip and the house is amazing with just minor hiccups.

The location was perfect, we could hear the concert perfectly which is why we booked this specific house. It was easy to check in and we had no issues. Great space for a big party - but needs maintenance

This is an unusual property: 8 separate identical bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, plus a huge common space with (what should have been) a first class kitchen. The property is clearly designed for big parties like bachelorette or wedding parties, or (as in our case) a big family get-together. The Whitewater amphitheater is only a few hundred yards away, so a weekend may feature live music (like it or not!). Our stay was marred by poor maintenance: breakers blew multiple times, a dishwasher didnā€™t work, an oven stopped without warning, and an old hamburger was left on the grill. The management quickly responded to our call ā€” but these conditions should never have been there in the first place. A very nice stay; but I wish we hadnā€™t had those issues.

We appreciated how each room had it's own private restroom and thermostats. We had adults and children for this stay. Each family member/friend was able to have their own space. The location is ideal for enjoying the river view, fishing and hanging out. The kids caught fish and roasted marshmallows, the adults hung out inside and outside around the firepit. Linens were plentiful and the property was clean. We'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful, spacious and well located property.

Perfect for family wedding

We had 8 adult couples staying there for a family wedding. It was perfect! Everyone had their own bedroom, bathroom and thermostat (which was a huge bonus for a family who canā€™t agree on temperature)! It could not have been a more perfect set up for us!

The house is beautiful and seems newly renovated and was in excellent condition. The gathering space is HUGE with 2 giant dining tables that actually allowed all of our party to sit together for our big meal. The kitchen was beautiful with fantastic appliances. I would say that the counter space and electrical outlets weren't as plentiful as I would have liked, but just my opinion. There were 8 large bedrooms that provided plenty of space to sleep for everyone. I thought the beds were a little hard, but some in my party enjoyed them. The only "minor" complaint is that there is no community bathroom to use - each bathroom is in a bedroom suite. The outdoor space was gorgeous and the fall foliage and river were about as beautiful as it gets in South Texas. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this property for a large group gathering. A perfect spot to celebrate Thanksgiving!

Love this House - Great for big groups

This was the second time our annual "5 families" trip stayed at this fabulous house. We had 20 people and it never got crowded. Great kitchen for cooking. Bedrooms are comfortable and spactious. But the very best part of this house is the location. You just walk down and float the Horseshoe. And if you're lucky, the Whitewater Ampitheater across the river has a band and you get free live music. Definately recommend this house!

The house was very clean, very nice linens on the 15 beds. The kitchen is well appointed. It includes a large, ice maker, two refrigerators, two dishwashers and two microwaves. The house is located on the Guadalupe River at the end of the horseshoe. Weā€™re all tubers must exit the river, and it was wonderful to be able to walk up directly from the river to our house. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the other seven bedrooms each have two queen beds Itā€™s a short drive from the house to Newbraunfels and the small town of Gruene. This is our 4th year to stay in the house with our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildrenā€” 23 in all.
