Laughing Pelican - Direct oceanfront. Amazing views! Huge decks, hot tub!

This home boasts three bedroom suites! Multiple decks with oceanfront hot tub, your own personal beach access with public accesses far enough away to discourage crowds. Play games on the beach or under the house in the shade. Our brand new router means there is WiFi in every room and we have even been able to get a signal on the beach!

Lower Level: Parking for ten vehicles. Outdoor prep sink, large enclosed outdoor shower with a rainfall shower head, hand held sprayer and foot rinse. Covered entry into the house from the carport. Guests have access to an indoor storage area.

2nd Level: Great room with two sitting areas, ten-person dining room with four stools at the bar, large kitchen and another bedroom suite.

Great Room: This welcoming great room has two sofas and a recliner. It is filled with picture windows and a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Two seating areas provide ample space for everyone. Pull-Out Sofa in the seating area. Oceanfront deck spans the length of the house. 65" Roku television and DVD player. Bookcases full of puzzles, board games and books. Telescope. Stereo for CDs and cassettes or connect your device. A half bath leads off the great room.

Dining area: An extra large dining table seats 10, kitchen bar accommodates 4 more. Plenty of cabinets with tons of prep space. Well-stocked with cookware, dishware, serving vessels and placemats. Appliances include a refrigerator, smooth top stove, dishwasher, coffeemakers (including Keurig), crock pots, Foreman grill, rice cooker, double toaster and blender.

Screened porch and deck: Soundside. Picnic table, two fans, fun programmable color-changing LED lights. To the right a screened door leads to another deck. Both the deck and porch offer views of the marshes and creeks that lead to the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Palm Tree Room: Soundside/QUEEN bedroom suite with private bath. Soundside views and a 43" Roku TV. Private bath with full size shower and tub.

1st Level: Five bedrooms. Laundry closet with washer and dryer. 80 gallon hot water heater to provide plenty of hot showers.

Dolphin Room: Oceanfront/KING bedroom suite. 43" Roku TV. Door to the lower oceanfront deck. The bath has a whirlpool tub and walk in shower with seat. This bath connects to the Lighthouse Room.

Mermaid Room: Oceanfront/QUEEN bedroom suite. 43" Roku TV. Door to the lower oceanfront deck. A crib tucks into the closet. The connected bath has a walk in shower with seat.

Bunk Room: Oceanview/TWO solid wood BUNK BEDS. 43" Roku TV. Connected half bath.

Sea Turtle Room: Soundside/QUEEN bed. 43" Roku TV.

Lighthouse Room: Soundside/QUEEN bedroom suite. 43" Roku TV. Shares the master bath with the Dolphin Room.

Linens are provided. Dogs are permitted with a $150 pet fee per dog. No more than 2 dogs allowed, each under 75 pounds. Smoking is not permitted in the property. Maximum occupancy is 16 at any time.

The Laughing Pelican is a wonderful getaway! The home is beautifully situated right on the beach, offering stunning views and a prime location. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, making it easy to enjoy meals at home.We especially appreciated the many thoughtful amenities provided—beach chairs, umbrellas, and equipment that made our time on the sand even more enjoyable. The spacious decks and the screened-in porch were perfect spots to relax and take in the ocean breeze.Communication with the owner was excellent—they were quick to respond to texts and very helpful throughout our stay.The location couldn’t be better: close to a dog-friendly restaurant and just a short drive to town for shopping and dining. Truly a perfect beach retreat!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Laughing Pelican, and my family truly loves this home! It is the absolute perfect location, has all of the amenities that fit our family, and I truly appreciate all of the little touches that make our stay special every time (ex: labeling on the light switches, the welcome 'goodie' bag of essentials, Roku TVs in each room, and the hot tub!). This is a great house and a fabulous location. Our entire family - 3 children and their spouses, 6 grandchildren and 2 dogs- thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. The kitchen is truly amazing, and very well equipped. The house was spotless and very spacious. We enjoyed the decks in the evening but were most happy with the quick and very short walk to the beach- just steps away- which allowed our grandchildren to go in and out often. The outside shower was better than expected and was really helpful. We will keep this on the top of our list for places to return to- and hope we can visit again soon. You won't be disappointed with the house. Importantly, the communication with the host was easy as Jacalyn was very responsive. Loved this vacation!

Our extended family loved this house and location! Beautiful open plan living room and kitchen were perfect for big meals together, games and hanging out.The beach was lovely and uncrowded, and we all appreciated the beach toys and outdoor shower.

Another year, another great stay at Laughing Pelican

Me and my family have stayed at this property several summers. Love the location, the views, etc. The house is well maintained and well stocked. Additionally, the owner, Jacalyn, is very responsive to any questions or concerns.

We had a great stay at the Laughing Pelican and would recommend it for your stay at Topsail Beach. The place was fully outfitted to meet all of our needs -- from a kitchen complete with every utensil and appliance, to a family room with plenty of games to entertain your family, plus a large TV. The owner was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Highly recommend.

Family Beach Vacation

This is our second year staying at the Laughing Pelican. The property is great for a large family, and being on the ocean is ideal. Check in and check out is easy, and the owner is very responsive to texts. We loved staying there and hope to continue making it an annual event!

Great vacation stay!

We had an amazing family trip at your beautiful beach house. It was a rare opportunity to get together with family to honor the life of “Granny”! She was the corner stone of the family. The house was the perfect size and well equipped. It had amazing views and we enjoyed spending time in the Hot Tub with the ocean sounds in the background! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! Always Perfect

This is the perfect house, so comfy and spacious - right on the beach. The owners are responsive and kind, always ready to answer questions and offer assistance. The kitchen is the most well stocked of any house I’ve ever rented. There are so many extra thoughtful touches throughout the house that makes it feel like home. Already booked for next year, our family and friends love this house!!

Another Wonderful Stay at Laughing Pelican

This was our family's fourth time storing at the property and our third year in a row. The house is well stocked with almost anything you would need, is very clean and updated, safe, etc. The location is amazing: actual beachfront with amazing views, really close to many restaurants/bars, and on its own little road with just a handful of other houses (off the main one with all the "fast" moving traffic). Additionally, Jacalyn is a wonderful host and communicates frequently and timely.

Topsail Gem

This is the second year we’ve stayed at the Laughing Pelican and it just fits our family perfectly! We have 8 adults and 4 kids. The house has an awesome living space which is connected to the kitchen. It’s a wide open space with plenty of room for everyone! The one upstairs bedroom is perfect for grandma and grandpa, and all other bedrooms are right down the stairs. The bunk room is a hit with our kids, and all other bedrooms are super comfortable (mounted TVs in each room). The location is perfect, just a short walk down the stairs to the beach (love the newly built walkway). The convenience store right down the street is so great, and just a short drive to our favorite ice cream shop, Island Delights:) Jacalyn is always super responsive and helpful! 10/10! My favorite part of this house is that it’s not massive with tons of stairs-it is manageable with kids and older people but still has enough space for us all.

Great house… perfect location

The house is clean and well-kept. The kitchen has everything you’ll need. The rooms are spacious and furnished nicely. And we got to witness a spectacular loggerhead turtle hatching; 129 turtles started their journey to the Gulf Stream from a nest right next to the property.

Awesome home! Repeat visitor

Gorgeous well maintained and equipped home. Kitchen has everything you could need. Lots of games and puzzles and books for rainy days. Highly recommend staying here. This is our second year and we hope to return next year.

A Fun Family Week at the Beach!

This was our third year vacationing at The Laughing Pelican in North Topsail Beach, and we had another fun family vacation. The house is great for multiple families with children! It is a clean, upscale, beautifully decorated home that is very well appointed. The house works well for families with a bedroom and bath for grandparents on the top floor and five bedrooms for adult kids/grandkids on the 2nd. The oceanfront location is everything you would expect, and it’s just a short walk over the sand dunes to a beautiful beach! Most especially, we love relaxing on the back porch in the morning and evening with the soft, cooling ocean breeze! The house has so much to offer families including many board games, puzzles for all ages, a variety books for beach vacation reading, beach chairs, and beach toys. Also we were provided with lots of linens. In addition, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need/want for cooking and eating with a large group. It doesn’t disappoint! The owner, Jacalyn, is a caring, responsive owner and very helpful if you have a need with something during your beach vacation. You can tell how much she loves her beach cottage and takes pride in making it a memorable place to vacation for her renters! We hope to come back sometime to North Topsail for vacation!

Book this house!

Book this house you will not be disappointed. Perfect location on the beach. Plenty of room for the entire family. Stayed with four generations and had a wonderful time in the Laughing Pelican. Linens and towels were provided and kitchen was the best stocked of any beach house we’ve stayed in over the past 10 years. House was well taken care of and has a great trex deck!

Laughing Pelican

We had a wonderful week here!! The house was perfect for our family. The view is amazing, and being able to walk directly out to the beach was great. We were a family of seven adults and four children ages 16 months-4 years, and we had plenty of room to spread out. The large common area with a spacious and extremely well stocked kitchen was much appreciated, as were things like a gate at the top of the stairs in the house and on the top deck, two high chairs, and baby pools and beach toys. There's also plenty of parking available. If you're considering staying here, you won't regret it!

Absolutely wonderful!

We spent the week at Laughing Pelican with our adult sons, their girlfriends, and our collective pups. It’s clear how well the owners take care of the house, as it was perfect! The property description was very accurate, from the kitchen (sooo well stocked with every appliance, dish, bowl, etc. needed!) to the lower level (thanks for the cornhole game, as we played it several times!). Jacalyn was wonderful about communicating, from booking to check-in and check-out, and everything in between! We will stay there again in the future and would have already booked for next year, if it weren’t for the announcement of a destination wedding this time next year! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Absolute Perfection

We had the best vacation! The house was immaculate, the beds were super comfy. The kitchen had absolutely everything, I’ve never stayed in a rental that was so well stocked. The location was stunning, waking up to the waves every morning was fantastic. The hot tub was amazing. The owners were so kind, texting us to have a good trip the morning we were supposed to arrive, and then checking in with us because a storm was coming, making sure that we were OK. We have already booked this property for next year because our entire group absolutely loves this beach house. Thank you so much!

Generations enjoyed

A great week for 3 generations! Two levels of direct ocean view. Quiet at night, dark so the stars are clear and the beach is shared only with the neighbors. Incredible outdoor shower. So much parking! There are hoses on each deck level. The kitchen was large and well appointed. All the furniture was clean and comfy. I would highly recommend this home!

Topsail 2023

Wonderful, beautiful weather, no family drama, great house. This was our 2nd stay here at the Laughing Pelican. Wonderful new decking & stairs. Jacalyn is great to work with. 1 concern: kitchen is really nice and plenty of counter space, lots of storage. Problem: too many drawers & doors. Hard to find anything as people seem to put things away just anywhere. Spent a lot of time looking for stuff. I wanted to organize all of it and my kids wouldn't let me. Counter top ice maker was really helpful.

We fell in love with this home when we came up the steps to the living area and saw the sweeping views of the ocean. Then Jaci turned and saw the kitchen and we knew this was our forever home at the beach.
