This 4 BR/2.5 BA semi-oceanfront, pet friendly home has been completely renovated in 2018. 2-tier deck with ocean & sound views. Steps to the beach with great surfing & fishing. Enjoy this classic beach cottage with a modern flair. The interior has been completely remodeled, all new floors, bathrooms and kitchen. Custom tile work, ship lap and architectural beams, 16ft ceilings in the living room.

Enjoy the ocean and sound views from the top deck or take the minute walk to enjoy the beach! Inspired and designed from all your favorite TV shows, boutique hotels, etc.; please make yourself at home in this classic beach cottage with a modern flair. All your towels and bedding are supplied to allow you to just show up and start your vacation.

Enjoy your meals from the farm table with seating for 10 while looking out toward the ocean. The modern kitchen with butcher block counter-tops and a farm sink are ready for your culinary creations. The kitchen is fully equipped for the best of chefs.

Each room has a flat screen TV and is designed to maximize your senses to the ocean. Enjoy some of the best fishing in the Outer Banks as the Rodanthe pier is just 2 minutes away with direct access from our back yard. No fishing license is required on the pier.

This classic beach cottage has plenty of space for the whole family. The bedrooms include: Master: King bed and private bath; Bedroom 2: King; Bedroom 3: Queen & Bedroom 4: Full. Bath towel and bed linens (sheets and a quilt) are provided. The sheets & quilts are washed and dried after every visit. Each bedroom is equipped with darkening blinds in case you need a little extra rest.

This property is located on a semi ocean front lot and across the street from our other houses - Aloha & Aloha Too. This offers the unique opportunity for a multifamily vacation in separate homes right next door. There is the possibility of 10 bedrooms with the Mahalo house serving as the hub for all your meals and entertaining. Please check out the listings and email us with any questions.

Great Location!

We've stayed in the OBX almost every summer for the many years now, and this has been the BEST place to stay we've found so far! Location great, amenities were everything we could have wanted, owner was super responsive and helpful. Definitely highly recommend!

First time to OBX and what a trip it was!

Just came home from our first visit to the OBX and it did NOT disappoint. Home was stunning. Everything was as described and communication with the owner was great. Absolutely loved the decor (kitchen was stunning, even down to the color coordinated spatulas), beach views, easy access to the beach / pier, and especially the outdoor shower to use at the end of each day. I look forward to returning again in the future.

Perfect vacation spot

This location was the cleanest place we have ever stayed. Keep in mind it’s animal friendly too. Great location to beach. Kitchen well supplied. Easy access and top deck has great views. Great set up for families.

Wonderful Stay!

Great spot, easy beach access and very clean! This property is wonderful and fit our family of 5 great. The outdoor shower was really helpful to keep the sand outside. Having a washer and dryer was really nice. We brought our own paper products as instructed and were very pleased w the kitchen setup and items available for use (pots, frying pans, cookie sheets, mixing bowls, cake pan, coffee machine, toaster, toaster oven). Bring foil, cling wrap or zip lock bags if you use frequently. Wonderful hosts with great recommendations and smooth communication. Thank you!!

Great Beach House for Family of 6

Our stay at Mahalo exceeded our expectations. Tami was an awesome host and even allowed us to check in early which was a pleasant surprise. The house was as described and spotless inside. Decor was fantastic and the space is perfectly utilized. Our visits to the beach were steps away. We found the beach to be perfect, not crowded with just enough people to enjoy the occasional interactions with fellow vacationers. The location was pretty much what we expected. Rodanthe is about 30 minutes away from the nearest Food Lion in Avon. Otherwise, you're limited to small neighborhood stores. We were looking for this type of isolation, so it suited our family well. The only inconvenience we ran into our entire trip was the presence of mosquitoes. Maybe this is normal for Rodanthe, but we weren't expecting to have to deal with them in the evening hours. Nothing a little bug spray didn't help with, but a few of our family members get attacked by mosquitoes regardless of bug spray. Overall, we had an awesome trip and would recommend Mahalo to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation!

Perfection in Rodanthe

I dont have enough words for this adorable beach house. We booked a last minute trip with our adult children who just graduated from college and high school. We got so lucky that Tami and Kyle's home was available. We have been visiting the Outer Banks ( south 12) for 20 years and I can say after our last two experiences with VRBO owners we will never rent from a reality company again! Tami and Kyle have put so much time and thought into making their guest comfortable. This house was impeccably decorated and immaculately clean. So clean I didnt want to even put our stuff in it! Lol! They are locals and we totally respect them for what they do and how they make their guests feel. We will definitely be back!

This is the one!

Where do i begin? This is the cutest, cleanest, most comfortable beach house that we’ve stayed in! It’s roomy and Tami and Kyle have paid attention to all the little details! The weather was very windy and it rained during our stay but it didn’t deter us from having a rejuvenating vacation. Because of the proximity to the beach we could still see the ocean and hear the waves. The top deck is wonderful! I also have (not well controlled) asthma. For the last couple years I’ve basically only went to doctors offices and the grocery store. The couple of times that we have ventured somewhere I’d come home sick. I took my clean air machine but I didn’t have any issues to smells or cleaners in this house. In fact I did better there than at home. They allow pets but you’d never know it because there’s no sign of them left behind. We didn’t use the washer and dryer but it was nice to know they were available if we needed them. You’ll be glad you rented this adorable house!

EmptyNester Honeymoon

We were looking to get away for a few days after dropping our kids off at college. Tami's house was perfect. We are accommodation snobs - we like the very best and cleanest and Tamis "MAHOLO" provided just that. Beautifully decorated, all linens were exceptionally clean as was the entire house. Thats tough to do in a rental home, on the ocean that accepts dogs. Tami really keeps the home beautifully.

Perfect Week

This one floor house was perfect for the 6 of us and our dog. Steps to the beach and one block from famous Rodanthe Pier. Down street from Neptunes restaurant and walking distance to a great fresh seafood store. Hopefully we will be back next summer for a longer stay

Rodanthe at Tami's

It was perfect for us. Cute, clean, close to the beach, relaxed and comfortable vibe. There were little things we appreciated, like the private outdoor shower with wooden dowel hooks, shampoo, condition, body wash dispensers. We loved the upper deck with coffee in the morning, cigars and port in the evening. The half-bath was also a laundry room. GENIUS!. The kitchen was well equipped, all appliances worked as they should. The back yard had EXCELLENT grass for playing jam can and boche. It was fun to sit on the upper deck at night and watch a buck saunter through the neighborhood. And, the Rodanthe pier down the way, live band a couple of nights. Tami will hear from us again, she's building a 2-person unit near by, and I'm looking forward to spending a long winter weekend down there with my wife to get some more down time. And, Tami's recommendation for restaurants....had the best tuna tacos, ever, at one of her recommendations.

Perfect location

Perfect Stay!!

I hate to give such a great review because I want to keep Mahalo as my little secret! My family of six stayed 5 nights and we had absolutely everything we needed. The place was exceptionally clean and the kitchen is super stocked to accommodate all your cooking needs. Mahalo is located steps from the beach and watching sunsets from the upper deck is amazing. The home is clean, clean, clean and cozy. I highly recommend this rental!!

Perfect House for Relaxing Stay

Mahalo was perfect for our needs. The House was very bright, the kitchen had all we needed, and the upper deck was great for looking at the ocean and reading. There was a nice little yard for our lab to poke around, and a nice neighborhood to walk in when not walking the beach. Tami was extremely responsive to our requests.

Fall Beach Getaway

We had a lovely and relaxing few days at Mahalo House. The house was very clean and attractive decor in a great setting. We loved the rooftop deck with a view of the surf. The sound of the surf in the background at night and with the windows open was marvelous! Highly recommend this house.
