Owl's Nest - 2/2.5, Luxurious, Pet Friendly Home

One of the original tree houses in the Village of Cheshire, Owl's Nest has been recently upgraded with customized features and new furnishings. Soaring vaulted ceilings, reclaimed walnut floors, a wood-burning stone fireplace, and locally sourced handmade ironwork are throughout the home. Wi-Fi, cable TV, and streaming options are available, along with a custom surround sound system for inside and outside entertainment. Four decks for you to sit out and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, or your favorite evening beverage.

Located on a quiet cul-de-sac away from all the noise, yet close to everything. Hiking and biking trails, a cafe, restaurants, and a salon are all within walking distance and a short drive to the YMCA, complete with pool & tennis courts. Less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and 15-20 minutes to Asheville, Biltmore House, and Grove Park Inn.

House layout: Main floor: Living room with wood fireplace, flat-screen TV with streaming options, kitchen with bar seating for 2, dining area and table seating for 6, half bath, and wrap-around deck complete with gas-assist Weber charcoal grill and outdoor furniture. Upper floor: Master suite with king bed and full bath with soaking tub and walk-in shower, private deck off of master suite, and additional deck in the front of the home. Ground level: Bedroom with a queen bed, a flat-screen TV, a full bath (shower only), an alcove with a full-size bed, and sliding barn doors for privacy. Deck and patio with fire pit.

Please note: This house is dog-friendly, with a $100.00 non-refundable fee per dog (maximum of two). Sorry, this home is not cat-friendly due to common allergies. The owners offer a 10% military discount year-round to military service members.

We enjoyed our stay. The house had plenty of space. We loved the location. It was close to many trails and near downtown Black Mountain. We would definitely stay here again.

Such a nice, relaxing, cozy place! This was our second time staying at the property. Conveniently located to so many Black Mountain & Ashville attractions. Loved the fireplace! Would come back again.

We have been making entendres weekends trips to black mountain for several years and always stay at Cheshire Village. The location is convenient and the cabins are fantastic. Third time returning to Owls nest. It is well furnished and spacious. Feels secluded but close to everything. Looking forward to our next visit.

Owls Nest is the CUTEST!!!

Great location! Our dog was welcome, great runs/walks around the neighborhood, and communication was always prompt! Inside, things were modern yet cozy. The kitchen was well-stocked, two TVs and lots of room for our family!!!! It is nicely decorated, is very clean, is move-in ready and the homemade bread from a local bakery was a nice touch! Could not be a better location for the sweet town of Black Mountain. We are planning to return!

Great place near nice town of black mountain

House was really nice, clean in a great neighborhood. Master bedroom and 2nd bedroom areas were nice sized. The third bedroom if you needed it was small and semi connected to second but would work great for family/kids etc. Kitchen had everything you need though was a tad small as was the main floor living area. It was a good space for 4 adults but might feel tight w 6. Walking distance to cafe, pub and sushi. Short drive to black mountain. Highly recommend. Would definitely return if staying in black mountain.

Lovely cabin, beautifully decorated, few small annoyances

The cabin is lovely. Nice furniture and decor and well supplied with all you need to prepare meals, enjoy morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The cabin was clean and well maintained overall. A few small issues we encountered included a toilet that didnā€™t flush properly, an oven that didnā€™t heat up like it should and the wifi password was incorrectly advertised in the welcome email. I passed these along to the rental company and hopefully they will be rectified for the next guests. Overall, we were pleased with our stay, but for the nightly rent, I feel these issues should have been resolved in advance of our arrival.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting

I grew up in the Appalachian mountains so leaving Michigan for a mountain vacation we wanted to feel like we were in the mountain woods, this house definitely delivered! A very cute neighborhood with old trees and paths. The only reason I canā€™t give 5 stars is that it was very noisy 2 out of 3 days we were there with a lot being cleared for new construction. If youā€™ll be sending a lot of daytime hours at the house be aware this might feel disruptive. The only other reason we couldnā€™t give 5 stars was now having stayed with many VRBOs I am always a little disappointed when there is a checkout routine that requires morning of departure frenzy to take sheets off beds, hang up towels, take our trash, do dishes etc. With two kids Iā€™ve really appreciated other places that just ask to at the house is left tidy and let the cleaning fee go towards all the ā€œcheck outā€ chores. We felt our last day morning here was chore-filled. Otherwise we were so happy with the house and setting and would definitely go back if/when there is a lull in construction work.

First Anniversary Trip

We absolutely loved staying here with our dog. The management was extremely responsive, wanted to make sure we had everything we needed, and even welcomed us with a special bottle of wine for our anniversary. We hope to go back one day!

The Owl's Nest property is very lovely.The layout allows for opportunities for privacy as well as comfortable spaces for gathering. We also loved the multiple outdoor spaces .
