Stardust--A Caribbean Style 2 Bd/2 Bath Cottage with Amazing Views and Hot Tub!

Stardust is a well-priced two bedroom / two bath Caribbean-style cottage set on a hillside above Chocolate Hole with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and dramatic sunset views of St. Thomas.

Set on two levels with access to the lower level by an exterior staircase for additional privacy Stardust offers a spacious fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, living room with flat screen TV, and king bedroom with attached bath -- all with access to the deck, hot tub, and amazing water views and sunsets over St. Thomas on the upper level. The lower level has a separate bedroom with two twin beds that can be made into a king bed, if desired, a separate bath, a mini-refrigerator, microwave and deck with a small dining table. In addition to ceiling fans, the cottage has air conditioning on both floors.

Other amenities include:

* Telephone for local and US-based calls
* Beach chairs, beach towels and cooler

Located near the Westin, the main area of Cruz Bay is approximately 1-1/2 miles away with the ferries, nearby convenience stores and restaurants. The Chocolate Hole area offers two private beaches (one of which -- Hart's Bay Beach is a five to eight minute walk from the cottage and is a good snorkeling beach.) However, you will want to take advantage of those beautiful north shore beaches that begin only 10 minutes away.

After a hard day at the beach, snorkeling with the angel fish, touring the Annaberg ruins or hiking the trails in the Virgin Islands National Park, come back to Stardust Cottage and sit back and relax with a glass of wine. It is magical watching the sunsets and the moon rise and set from the deck. Or view the planets constellations from the hot tub while enjoying a glass of wine. Fall asleep to the gentle sound of the waves -- ready to start a new day tomorrow.

This cottage is a very nice place to stay in St John. It's very comfortable and has great views from the deck. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need. The couch and bed are very comfortable. The cottage is close to Fish Gut which is a great place to go hiking and is beautiful. There's a trail to Hart Bay that you can walk from the cottage. At night don't forget to look up into the stars you're going to see so many.

Our St. John Vacation

Stardust Cottage worked really well for our family of four. We were a bit apprehensive about the separate room down below for our kids, but it worked out really well. It may not be as good for families with younger children. The location was great - an easy drive into Cruz Bay. The views from the deck were amazing. Though it's not overly big or fancy, it made a perfect homebase for our family during our wonderful vacation to St. John!

This private bungalow was our honeymoon retreat for 5 days. It was perfect, we had everything we needed, the host was very responsive, the location was perfect, we were able to quickly get everywhere on the island from this home base, the view you have off the deck is well worth the whole trip. The hot tub heater frequently shut off, but I think this was an issue with the power on the island cutting out. So, just fyi, go down below the deck and make sure the heater is on if you wanna soak.

Great location and view!

Finding the property initially was a bit challenging, but once I located it, getting back was no problem. GPS can be unreliable in the area, so I strongly recommend following the provided directions. A vehicle is essential to get around the island, and I highly recommend renting a Jeep due to the steep and hilly terrain of St. John.The view from the property was absolutely breathtaking, and communication with the staff/owner was smooth and easy. The VRBO was well-equipped with everything you need for a beach day, which was a fantastic bonus. The jacuzzi was a relaxing touch that we thoroughly enjoyed.Overall, I highly recommend staying here—you won’t regret it!

Beautiful location

Spent a week at the Stardust cottage with our 2 adult daughters. The view and location are terrific and we enjoyed all the wonderful things the island has to offer! The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed for a nice stay.

Island Getaway

Stardust has an incredible views of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Sunsets were just beautiful! The kitchen was well appointed for cooking meals. The upstairs has a king bedroom and the downstairs can be setup as a king or two twins. Sadly, my daughters were not able to use the downstairs as they have allergies to damp spaces and immediately reacted. Something to consider if you have allergies that flare up in damp areas. Thankfully, we were able to use the pull out couch for them upstairs.

Nice location up high, family liked the hot tub and kids liked having their own apt downstairs. Had beach chairs could use on the beach. Abby was easy to contact and waiting for us at the house to show us around. She even had a cab waiting for us at the ferry since our flight was delayed and we missed the car ferry. Adding a pin or business to Google Maps would help in directions rather than paper map but not hard to find either way. If you love beach life, you will love St John

Wow! Perfect Location on St. John USVI

Stardust Cottage was perfect for my husband and me and two adult children. After our daily beach and snorkeling adventures (both North Shore and East End) we came back to the cottage for the jacuzzi and the sunset and relaxation and star gazing. We found two jungle paths to Hart Bay and had a great snorkeling adventure at Chocolate Hole Bay. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds very comfortable, the views could not be beat. Lynn was very responsive. Stardust Cottage is great!

Great beach house

Very cute beach cottage close to Cruz bay. Worked well for our family of 4 adults. Tori was very responsive to us. Only issue was not being able to get the hot tub to heat up but Tori immediately tried to get it fixed so hopefully the next guests will have one. Not a big deal for us since St John beaches are so stunning!

Amazing view

The cottage is just as pictured. The mosquitoes were bad in the evening but we came prepared. We had a couple issues with power going off but management company walked us through how to fix it. The views are amazing morning noon and night.Part of the road is steep getting to it but it was worth the drive up. We would definitely stay here again

Our favorite place to stay in STJUSVI

This cottage is perfect for us and also when we bring our kids. Close to Cruz Bay for eating and Fish Bay to hike Fish Guts and hike Great Seiben Trail too. The view from the porch is of Hart Bay and there is a tail to get to the beach. The garden is beautiful with snake plants and flowering trees. There is a gas grill, a hose to wash off the sand and beach gear too. Very quiet area and a comfortable cottage to chill in. There is a hot tub, a washer and drier and the kitchen is stocked with what you will need. The rental company replied back within a few min.

Great 5 night stay at Stardust cottage

Just returned from a 5-night stay at Stardust cottage and had a very pleasant experience. Both the owner and property manager were very responsive to all questions and requests. The upstairs unit was very comfortable, and the AC was great! The kitchen was well stocked, and we cooked a couple nights in the unit. One of the chair legs was broken and a new chair could not be replaced so we did have to use a barstool in lieu of since there were 4 of us. The downstairs unit I would recommend only for children/teenagers. The ceiling fan wasn't working and the combo of the window AC unit and standing fan was a bit noisy. There is very large walk-in shower in the downstairs unit. The location is great with the market only minutes away and just few more to get into Cruz Bay. We didn't experience any issues with mosquitoes/bugs so were able to sit outside on the deck often. Having use of beach chairs and coolers was very handy, since when we stay at the Westin, we have to rent those items. The washer and dryer came in very handy as we were doing another week's sail trip after this stay.

Location nice BUT could use a lot of TLC

The main reason we rented this cottage is because it came with a Jeep. A week or so before we were informed it was totaled. While we understand it was an accident everywhere I was recommended to had no Jeeps/SUV's left as well as double the cost. I asked for some further assistance, no reply. The view was amazing, unfortunately due to the bugs it was hard to enjoy. The cottage was NOT clean. Black hair all over the floors, stains on the furniture and the kitchen was gross. No water pressure, we used CLR to try and take showers. Almost to the point we were going to look elsewhere. But, after a long day of travel we got some rest and decided to clean the house ourselves. (It would be nice to get our cleaning fee back we also left it cleaner then when we arrived as well as some restitution for the Jeep we had to pay double for!) Lastly, the bedroom, it was stifling to say the least. Out of 7 nights we were only able to stay in the bedroom 2 nights. The AC barely worked and was extremely moldy. It did not reach the bedroom at all. We had to stay on the pullout couch. The downstairs area beds were very hard. We would have loved our other guests to come stay upstairs but it was to hot. (Yes, we understand Island Life). I will say the Property Manager Tori was great. We had no downstairs key and the doorknob was falling off, she come by when we were out and fixed it up for us. All in all the pictures are not super accurate. We have stayed in St John a few times and would not stay here again.

Great property

We stayed in Chocolate Hole for Christmas, and it was amazing! The house is very nice and well maintained. The view from the deck is breathtaking - having the hot tub to sit in and just look out was great. The house had several really great amenities like the washer/dryer, beach towels/chairs, and the ability to rent a jeep. The location is great for getting to restaurants, beaches, and grocery stores. Make sure to pack or buy some bug spray - completely out of the control of the homeowner, but you are going to want it if you are sitting on the deck at dawn or dusk. We have already recommended this place to several friends.

easy access to everything, beautiful view (although i think they put up the new electric poles since the listing photos). the deck is incredible to hang out on, and town is a quick drive. so great to have the jeep, too. we loved our time on st. john!

Beautiful convenient location

Ocean Views (of Hart bay) and breezes were exactly what we’d hoped to find. The front deck was where we “lived” when not at one of STJ’s beautiful beaches and snorkel spots. Hiked to beach once ( a 20 minute hike, not the 5 min as advertised) which was fun, and house location on this island was very convenient to everything. Pictures fairly accurate, though furniture in the living room not as pictured and somewhat inadequate for the 4 of us to be inside. But very clean, bright, and pleasant decor. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Upper floor bed was very comfy, downstairs not so much to the point we didn’t sleep well there. Manager tried her best to help with that, but it really needs new mattresses of some better quality or some egg crates to pad the hardness of what’s there. Overall, though, we’d happily stay there again if mattress issue is resolved. Unique upstairs and downstairs split of bedrooms allows for privacy, but doubt it would work well for younger children families. Very pleasant home-away-from-home for the week!
