Moonglow is an octagonal home with spectacular views of Coral Bay and the islands beyond. Vistas abound from every part of this spacious Caribbean home. (A sea view from every room!) The screened outdoor dining veranda is only steps away from a well appointed gourmet kitchen with owner created ceramic tiles complimenting the stainless steel and granite. An air conditioned bedroom with a king size 4 poster bed awaits after a late evening soak in our round intimate spa. The moon and the twinkling lights of the British Virgins are your only distraction!

Moonglow is a perfect vacation home! It had everything we needed and the most gorgeous views. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck with morning coffee, listening to roosters, and watching the sunrise rise. Full kitchen was great and had tons of supplies. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We were so happy with Moonglow cottage. Everything about it was just we we had hoped and we felt so comfortable there. Loved the hot tub at night under the stars!

We went to St John for our honeymoon and based on the views we loved this cottage. Well, the pictures don’t do it justice. The views from here are spectacular with amazing trade winds. The cottage and property itself were extremely nice and well cared for. There was plenty of room and loved the open concept. The owners also left us a very nice gift for our honeymoon. In addition, they called us ahead of time and gave us an idea of what to expect and also fun things and places to go while we were there. We would definitely stay here again!

A Tropical Paradise with a View

When we arrived to Coral Bay we were welcomed by Bob who met us at a local market to guide to us to Moonglow Cottage. Nestled in a tropical garden, it offers breathtaking sunrises and gorgeous views. The cottage is airy, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated with personal touches. The furnishings add to the tropical feel. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Although you feel the breeze throughout the cottage is was nice to have the air conditioning in the bedroom. It's a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration and has EVERYTHING you need. We would love to return!

Anniversary at Moonglow

We spent a week at the Moonglow cottage on St. John. The cottage is great - very private, clean, and well appointed. The views are amazing. St. John is hot at the end of June, but the AC in the bedroom meant we could sleep well. Bob made the check-in process easy. We'll definitely stay here again if/when we return to St. John.

Coral Bay Sunsets & Stargazing

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Moonglow Cottage. Our favorite things about the cottage: the view over coral bay, thoughtfully stocked kitchen that allowed us to enjoy cooking several meals, grilling freshly caught fish, stargazing from the hot tub, the interior design is lovely, all day cross breeze, the location is ideal for enjoying the east side of the island and restaurants in Coral Bay, the air conditioning in the bedroom, and the beach chairs/sun shade that made beach hoping even more enjoyable.

Perfect amenities at the property, so dont over pack towels or too much beach stuff. Perfect for reconnecting with your loved one. Secluded away from people. We absolutely fell in love with the simple yet open atmosphere of the cottage & how beautiful the sunrises are. Great location from east side neach & 10min to Salt Pond Bay. Little hairy drive up mountain & recommend a jeep. Calabash Market at bottom of hill had great fish for sale on Wed Thur. All in all BEST VACATION EVER!!!

Perfection

This was the perfect place on the perfect island. The owner was very helpful from the moment we booked. She provided us with valuable insights to plan our trip. When we arrived, the house manager answered all of our questions and showed us around. The house itself is perfect. The view is amazing and provides plenty of privacy. It is far enough away to be quiet and private but close enough to all the beaches that you can try them all! It is well maintained and well appointed inside. They had all the things we needed for our daily excursions. We have been trying many islands in the tropics, and I think we have found the perfect one and the perfect place to stay.

Serene and private cottage in paradise

My husband and I loved our stay at Moonglow. Would come back here. St John’s is an incredible paradise and Moonglow is nestled high up on the mountain side overlooking Coral Bay and the BVIs to the east. We loved waking up every morning to the sunrise, enjoying a morning hot tub, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, grilling, eating dinner in the breezy veranda, and falling asleep in the very comfy king bed with the east breeze and sound of birds and insects chirping in the lush foliage surrounding the cottage. The property manager Bob was great to work with and made us feel very at home. This cottage is above and beyond any VRBO we have ever booked. So many beautiful details and artwork throughout the house and beautiful plants surrounding the outside (most gorgeous huge silver palm right in the driveway). The pictures don’t do this property justice. Amazing panoramic views of Coral Bay and beyond. Very private, could hear or see any neighbors due to foliage surrounding the property. We also appreciated extras such as the cooler, Tupperware, sunscreen, beach chairs and towels, beach tent, and many small cooler bags….I could go on and on. Thank you for a great stay!

Time Capsule

Stepping onto St. John USVI is like traveling in a time capsule back to when life was simpler and folks appreciated the small joys that life brings you: the beauty of nature, of the creatures that inhabit the world other than the humanoids. Moon Glow is the most serene setting. We don’t care for the crazy night life of Cruz Bay. Been there. Done that. We want to sit at the beach and listen to the waves lapping on the shore and watch the deer and the pelicans and the iguanas and the birds. We want to snorkel with the turtles and the squid and the rays and the coral and watch the sunset. Stop at Coral Bay for a leisurely supper in our damp swimsuits and fill up on some yummy tropical delights before heading back to stargaze on the deck! This home smacks of the Caribbean in its simplicity and comfort and cooling breezes. You may have a visitor or two in the drive or the shower...lizards or frogs or deer... and get lulled asleep by the tree frogs. Moon Glow is a little bit of heaven on earth! We will return again and again as long as we are able. Thank you, Mary Lou and Larry for allowing us to share your bounty!

Better than expected!

My husband and I chose to stay at Moonglow during our stay on St. John for our 10 year anniversary. Them moment we stepped outside the view stops you in your tracks, its truly amazing. The villa was clean, had everything we need and Bob, the house manager was spectacular. Can't say enough good about the whole experience.

Paradise with a view

An VRBO that has it all! Kitchen with all the necessities and more, air conditioned bedroom, amazing screened in dining area, and best of all, the views from then “deck”. My husband and I can’t wait to return in the future and stay at Moonglow Cottage.

MOONLIGHT MOONGLOW PERFECTION !!!

This was our first stay to St. John and this beautiful home made our anniversary trip and birthday celebration perfect!! Cool breezes everyday with the most stunning view of Coral Bay ! Breathtaking sunrises as well as Moonlight glow ! Loved the hot tub in the evening .This was a wonderful home for us . Lou has thought of everything you need in the well stocked kitchen that we enjoyed tremendously. Outside shower felt great after a day of snorkeling ! Bob the manager was very helpful getting us set for our Fantastic anniversary trip!! We loved Moonglow and we are already planning our next trip to this slice of heaven !!

Paradise found

Moonglow was more than we had hoped for. Lou was so helpful with everything we needed to know when visiting the Island from restaurants to jeep rentals, and fun local events to attend, The house was impeccably kept. We felt like we were at home with every need thought of and all amenities necessary. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking, beach going equipment (towels, chairs, cooler) and the hot tub was a perfect way to end each day on the deck under a full moon. It was paradise found! Paradise on the mountainside.

Moonglow has a permanent spot on out top 5 list of private getaways. This was our first time in the Virgin Islands, and Mary Lou made it her mission to provide us with the best information on where to go, what to do and how to get the most out of island life on St. John’s. She is amazing. So helpful and so friendly. Bob, the property manager is very much the same. Our eternal gratitude to both of them for helping us prepare to have a relaxing, full experience. The location is a little off the beaten track. But not so much that it is inconvenient. High on the mountainside with a panoramic view of Coral Bay, we had extraordinary sunrises, long hours star gazing and many a soak in the hot tub. Which was clean and so satisfying day and night. The house is ideal for a couple. The bedroom has AC for those nights when the trade winds aren’t cool or dry enough. And some sound protection is one gets up to do yoga and the other sleeps in. The furniture and decor are just right. The kitchen is gloriously stocked with everything you need to cook gourmet meals and make cocktails. We did this 80% of the time and truly enjoyed come ok’ing for ourselves after shopping at Calabash Market at the bottom of the hill. The grill was also awesome for cooking the fresh Swordfish, Mahi Mahi and Scallops. Yum. The screened in porch was idyllic for eating meals or reading and we always felt like we were in a private paradise. Not a thing out of place and help was a text or call away if we had questions. All in all 100% perfect. Can’t wait to book again. Hugs for making this property available and being so awesome.

Moonglow Cottage is Wonderful

This was our second stay at Moonglow. It is a charming 1 bedroom home with amazing views. It is perfect for one couple. Extremely well equipped kitchen, comfortable king bed with air conditioning in the bedroom and a hot tub! We love the BVI views. The road up has been improved with more concrete in sections of it. Although I highly recommend you get a four wheel drive rental. The owner and property manager are excellent communicators. I highly recommend this rental!

Absolutely Lovely

The homeowner is fabulous and full of so much valuable information!! Organized too! The villa was perfect for our stay and had everything we needed and then some! I love all the neat little knick knacks, sculptures and small touches that make it feel so homey. We used the villa to its fullest extent, we cooked all our breakfasts there and enjoyed them on the screened porch with the company of a lizard we named Bob, he came out every morning and hung out. We packed the cooler provided at the villa with water, drinks, lunch items like meat cheese fruits chips and packed up the car and headed to the beach for day. The island is expensive and we were on a slight budget so we cooked most of our dinners at the villa as well, utilizing the grill outside with the wonderful steaks and other items we purchased at Calabash Market. We never encountered something that wasn't available at the villa. We did have one day of rain as tropical storm fred skirted past the island, we lost power for maybe 2 hours but nothing major and there was never a time we didn't feel safe. The hills are steep, we are somewhat more used to this then most as we live in the mountains of Colorado, but the road to the villa can compete with some of the back roads here in Colorado, when our car rental company gave us a small Ford Ecosport we got a little concerned we can make it every where.. we did without any issues even on the road to the villa which was the roughest we encountered, actually the small gas efficient car ended up working out well for just us, parking was easy every where, turns on switchbacks were easy to maneuver, we used only 1 tank of gas for our week rental, so just filled it up ($40) once on the way to return it. Groceries are expensive, food out is even more expensive. We did a quick bulk shop on our way to check in at villa at the Midway Market, this is cheaper than Calabash Marker for staple items (eggs, milk, bread, water, soda, coffee, rum, mixers ect) but Calabash had better meat cheese choices and convenient, a tad on the pricey side overall but worth it. It was our first visit to the Virgin Islands and St John and we were not disappointed by the beaches, wildlife, experience and our villa that was all fabulous, Coral Bay was full of the stinky seaweed stuff that was affecting the islands during our stay so we didn't get much opportunity to experience it like we hear about it unfortunately a small letdown of the trip but o well.

Just Perfect

The place is perfect for a couple and the attention to detail is outstanding. Everything from the towels to the kitchen utensils to the outside wall sconces says this is where I want to stay. Watching the sunrise from the view is spiritually uplifting and enjoying the stars in the hot tub a blast! The furniture is tasteful and comfortable the king size bed is great. We really enjoyed breakfast in the screened in porch every morning great spot for a little yoga slaso. The cottage has everything just bring shorts, a bathing suit and flip flops. Couldnt have been better for my wife and i.

After spending many years renting in various parts of Coral Bay, we knew without a doubt that this was the ideal spot!. It was always this particular view which thrilled us more than any other, on an island where every view is beautiful. We bought the land in 2006 and spent the next 8 years planning our dream Caribbean cottage.

The circular architecture and multiple large glass doors capture the surrounding view and create a feeling of being one with the outdoors; the valley below and the sea beyond. The open floor plan and cathedral cypress ceiling create a sense of airiness and elegant space which is cooled by the trade winds.
