We invite you and your family to relax in our comfortable 4 bedroom 3.5 bath home featuring professionally decorated, high end, rustic mountain finishes and easy/convenient access to the San Juan Mountains, Silverton, Ouray and Durango. Located just 5 minutes from Purgatory Ski Resort and 28 miles from Downtown Durango, there is plenty to do in this mountain paradise. This home sits on 1.3 acres tucked in the forest for privacy. National forest borders 2 sides of this home, perfect for exploring.

The living room features a flat screen television and incredible mountain views. Just like home, there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer just off a 3 car garage, keeping your vehicle out of the elements. The large deck provides enjoyable outdoor living, a gas grill is provided right off the kitchen and dining area on the deck. There are amazing views of Engineer Mountain and the Hermosa Cliffs. You are surrounded by nature and many have caught a glimpse of a bear, deer and elk. After skiing relax in the extra large hot tub!

This home is available to be rented for long-term stays (availability dependent). Please inquire for special pricing.

Mandatory: For reservations between Thanksgiving and April 1st, 4WD and AWD vehicles with good snow tires AND chains required. NO EXCEPTIONS. Violation of this rule will result in a fine being issued by the HOA.

NO Smoking anywhere on the premises.

Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking.

Note: This home does not have Air Conditioning. Most homes do come equipped with box and ceiling fans.

A friendly reminder before you book your stay, is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guest, pets and gatherings. We are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guest that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets or guest with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights.

Please note that most properties are outfitted with outdoor security cameras.

Cancellation Policy:
If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival will receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Between (29) days and fifteen (15) days before arrival, guest will be refunded 50% of the reservation amount. (14) days or less to arrival, no refunds given.
For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date to receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee Cancellations made between thirty one (31) days in advance of your arrival and (59) days will receive a 50% refund.

Trip insurance is available for purchase and is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain home. It was well stocked and was a good base for our adventures in the Rockies. We enjoyed trips to Silverton and Ouray and the excellent hiking in the area.

Fabulous location, perfect for a large group. Management company was very attentive and friendly. Hot tub was a nice benefit especially in that setting.

Amazing vacation home close to lake purgatory

Our family of 6 spent a summer month at the Lake Purgatory Family Lodge and had a wonderful time. The house is quite large and has a well stocked kitchen for cooking and an amazing hot tub. The location is about 7 minutes from the highway, and is about a half hour from Durango and 40 minutes from Silverton, with some great hiking trails about 10 minutes away. We had a great time exploring the area and would highly recommend it as well as this wonderful home.

The heater in the main living room didn't work, which made it really hard to enjoy the space. The blower on the fireplace wasn't working either. I called Durango Colorado Vacations, and while they said they would fix it remotely, nothing ever got resolved. Overall, pretty disappointing experience.

Amazing place!

We enjoyed our stay at this house. It is beautiful, clean and well laid out. It is very close to Purgatory (about 5-10 mins up the mountain) and a quick 25-30 min drive into Durango. You will definitely need an appropriate car to get in and out of neighborhood when there is snow. Road in is narrow at points, hilly and not paved. The house is in a beautiful location with lots of scenery and a great view out the living room window. It is a quiet neighborhood, which we appreciated. We had 8 people in our group and were very comfortable in this house. We would definitely stay at this house again. It would be a great place any time of year!

Great Mountain Stay!

We stayed with two families with 6 kids ages 4 to 11. There was lots of space, sleds, and tons of firewood available. Check in was super easy (though I recommend arriving during the day). We got there right after the sun set and it was pretty dark. The place was very well stocked with pots, pans, cups, and misc. leftover cooking supplies. There were tons and tons of blankets, towels, sheets, and pillows. The radiant heat on the floors was awesome. The internet was typical for the mountains--works, but slowly. We were able to stream music for most of our weekend without any issues. It is built literally on the mountainside. The kids loved playing in the snow and climbing around on the rocks on the hill. We drove one day down to the entrance of the community and played on the frozen creek. 4-wheel drive is an absolute must in the winter time. The final roads to the home are dirt and there are lots of hills. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it!

House was great. Plenty room. Upon arrival , snow on deck. Day after arrived it was cleared. Hot tub great! Need 4 wheel drive/ all wheel to drive safely to house and to access home. Response of rental company to questions was quick. We had trouble regulating temperature at night- too hot at times. Overall - great stay and close to skiing.

Beautiful House in a Wonderful location

The house was beautiful and the check-in process was very easy.The location was fantastic. We enjoyed the outdoor Jacuzzi and the scenic views from the house.There were lots of towels and blankets provided. The outdoor patio chairs,Sofaā€™s and glass table was all kept inside the garage and me and my friends have to spent an hour of time to arrange and set the furniture in the patio.The grill was not fully cleaned and can see few small pieces of meat leftovers.But overall we enjoyed the stay and we all loved the placeā€¦..

Christmas 2020

The home is set in a winter wonderland. There were 8 adults and 3 children in our group and there was plenty of space to accommodate everyone. With a well appointed kitchen, two separate living areas, comfortable seating, and Purgatory Resort across the street this home is your perfect winter vacation spot.

Our family (w/ 3 children under 6) stayed for a week and the property was exactly as we had hoped. The house was very clean, extremely well stocked even down to high chair, and better than pictured. Highly recommend this home as there is also some great national forest land directly behind the property for exploring.

100% Privacy and Pure Relaxation

This home is AMAZING!! All you need is groceries. Spend your days, hiking, relaxing in the hot tub, or reading on the patio. Kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable, and the home layout is superb. Will definitely be returning with our kids.

Great house close to skiing!

This was a wonderful house for 2 families to stay over Spring Break. We appreciated that two of the bedrooms has an en suite bathroom for the 2 adult couples. The double dishwashers were also a hit. Plenty of space for adults and children alike. Less than 10 minutes from the house to Purgatory ski resort. It was a great stay, great Spring Break, and we hope to be back! We loved our upscale dinner at Sowā€™s Ear if youā€™re looking for a rec. Note, 4WD is most definitely needed when there is snow on the ground. Itā€™s a muddy and bumpy drive in and out of the neighborhood.
