All of the bedrooms were clean, and all have a great view. The kitchen had everything we needed (we made breakfast every morning). The icemaker is a big plus as well. The pool area and outdoor space is very nice with an incredible view of Maho Bay. We'll definitely be back!

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Very private. Surrounded by nature. The house is better in person. Plenty of space inside and out. Bedrooms are great. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen and living space is great with a pool table. Pool is refreshing and inviting with amazing views. Wildlife right outside of your rooms. We saw deer, mongoose and iguanas. The pool is comfortable to swim in day and night without being to cold. This is a must if you are looking for complete privacy and a stunning house. Love City Market is a short drive into Coral Bay for provisions. Can't wait to go back!

Paradise at Maho House

Our stay was everything and more. The house was beautiful, stocked with all of the beach essentials, and had a million dollar view. We really enjoyed the layout where the rooms are separate from the ‘main building’ (kitchen, dinging), so everyone could socialize and have peace and quiet as needed. We brought our 1.5 year old and it was a great house for kids. The pool, patio, and outdoor areas were awesome. Mary, the property manager was so easy to communicate with and helped us with any logistical questions (like arranging taxis to take us to dinner in Cruz Bay). The location is very secluded (a huge plus for us), and overlooks Maho Bay (a 1 min drive or 6 min walk). This was intentional for our family but is far from most restaurants and the main ‘towns’, each 25-30 min drive on very windy roads (drive on left hand side). So if you need convenience to shopping and multiple restaurants, this is not the place to stay. We can’t wait to return!

Your own private resort

We stayed 5 nights with family and had the best vacation. Staying at the house is like having your own private resort. We walked to Maho bay beach a few times which was great that we didn’t need the car. You need to be in reasonable shape though tolong and steep

Dreamy Location

This beautiful home is completely secluded in the hills overlooking Maho Bay and we loved everything about the location and privacy of it all. The kitchen is well equipped except for the broken ice maker. Hopefully that will get fixed soon for the next guests. Our group of eight really enjoyed the home, the outdoor seating, pool and pizza oven. It really is a fantastic place to spend a vacation! Just one comment for clarity of the listing information that might be helpful for those thinking about renting the home: it IS walking distance to Maho Bay but certainly not if you're older or physically impaired in any way. The driveway has a steep decline to get to the road and you must walk on the side of a two way, very narrow road to get to the bay. However, there is a parking lot at the bay if you choose to drive. Just go early as the parking lot gets full very quickly. It's a popular bay! Hope this info. helps. We would definitely rent here again!

THE MAHO BAY VACAY

This is a wonderful, comfortable, and well-designed place to stay. It has everything we could have possibly wanted. The house is blessed with an incredible view, delightful beach proximity, and no neighbors! It is well appointed with four master suites, a pool table, wonderful outdoor sitting and eating areas, and a beautiful pool. Trust me...if you stay here you will love it! Mary, the house manager, was a wealth of information and a big help. Our flight time changed by 5+ hours and Mary was flexible to roll with it. She was fully invested in wanting us to have all that we needed and enjoy our stay. We appreciated José collecting our trash. If you have read the reviews and looked at all the pictures, you may have seen everything I mentioned above and have a pretty good idea of the home. However, I would boldly say The Maho Bay House is even better in person! We were there in the off season, so some restaurants and chef services were not available. We placed a large order with Starfish Market and Mary did the provisioning for us. What a blessing that was. Since we arrived late, we knew we would have enough to throw together a light dinner to meet our needs. Karibbean Kulture cooked us a delicious dinner one night! We love St. John and I have watched the house for several years. I am thankful we had the opportunity to stay there. Thank you to our hosts for being gracious and sharing your special home with us!

Gorgeous!

We had the best week at the property! My husband and I got married at Maho Bay in June 2017 so the location holds a special place to us. When we saw this property and its location to Maho we knew it was meant to be. The pictures in the listing don’t do it justice. Every room has jaw dropping views. We came down for the 8 Tuff Miles race (if you’re considering the run the name holds true 😅). We had a total of 6 people stay at the property. It was clean and Mary was there when we arrived. She gave us a run down and was quick to respond any time we texted her. Jose was great and helpful too. The house is a short walk to Maho and we took full advantage of it. It was so nice to be close to the beach when we wanted to have a snorkel day. The house also had snorkel gear and beach chairs so we didn’t have to rent any. When we didn’t feel like going down to the beach we used the pool and appreciated the stunning views. Everyone was happy with their room. That was another selling point for us. None of the rooms are “bad” rooms. They all had a king size bed, their own bathroom, and a great view. We booked a few boat excursions while there and recommend checking out Lime Out if able to. Great tacos and such a unique place to grab a bite! The Maho Bay House was a great home base when we got back from our charters to unwind. We definitely plan to come back to St John and would love to stay at this property again! We would recommend it to anyone considering it.

Thankful at Maho Bay House

Our family of four stayed at the Maho Bay House Thanksgiving week and it was truly one of our most memorable vacations. The house is spectacular with amazing views from each room of Maho Bay below and the surrounding islands. We all appreciated the equal size king bedrooms with ensuite baths and no negotiations were necessary on who was taking which room. All of the rooms are very nicely decorated. The house had a great flow with 2 bedroom suites on either side of the beautiful pool area and the main living, dining and kitchen areas. It allowed for everyone to have their own space. We made use of both the indoor kitchen which is fully equipped with all appliances and the outdoor grill and pizza oven, including a special dinner prepared by Chef Shaibu from Oasis Private Chefs. We enjoyed the pool table in the living room and our nightly family pool tournaments. The property is very private and quiet. You have the feeling that you are at your own private 5 Star resort. A special thanks to the Property Manager, Mary, who met us at the rental car agency when we first arrived on island from the ferry. We had been corresponding about a month in advance of arrival and Mary was very helpful with provisioning services and providing recommendations for restaurants, taxis and other island services. We hope for a return trip in the future to the Maho Bay House with family or friends.

Friends Bday Trip to St John

Stay was perfect. Mary was a great hostess and very helpful in setting us up for success. Property is so well done, in design, execution, location, amenities. It was refreshing to have the chairs/snorkel equipment/coolers/etc. already there and available for use. The remote location was a feature for us, and trips to town were worth the trouble of retreating to Maho. Amazing that a property like this is available, and perfect for multiple families where no one wants to be stuck with the sleeper couch that many larger properties will use to increase their appeal. We hope to return. Nothing but positives to say from our group.

Simply amazing

Visited St John many times over the last 20 years. This visit was simply amazing. The house was fabulous. Has everything you could need. The view was amazing 24/7. 300 steps from the driveway to Mayo Bay sand. Walked the beach each morning around 8am. Only me and the animal foot prints in the sand. Wow. So overall, the pictures truly represent the house, but could never compare to being there in person. Simply amazing. Mary and Jose settled us into the house. They responded to a texts immediately. Class act all around. Great trip, great house, and great hosts.

Maho Bay House

We had a wonderful time at the Maho Bay House. 8th trip to St John and Maho Bay House was a unique location and experience. Beautiful home with fantastic views of Maho Bay. Easy walk to the beach where we spent quite a few days. The home is set up beautifully for a group of 4 couples. We have stayed at many homes with pool tables, but here we actually used the table every day. The team did a wonderful job supporting us during our stay. We have already booked 2 more weeks for next year.

Simply Stunning!

I do not think that words alone are capable of describing the indelible beauty and serene peacefulness of this property. It is simply stunning! The Maho Bay house is likely the most unique home on the island. It is simultaneously nestled in the hills overlooking the bay, but is a short, easy walk right to the beach. However, at night, you’re left with the impression that you are the only people on the entirety of the island. It’s truly amazing! I will always remember this grandeur of this house and how perfect a place this is to spend a peaceful time to escape the realities of my day-to-day.

Heavenly Home

As a retirement celebration, my husband and I shared the Maho Bay Home with our three grown children and their partners. Situated high on the hillside overlooking Maho Bay, this home felt like a little bit of heaven. With four bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, bathroom, balcony, and view of the ocean, this home couldn’t have been more perfect for our family. The kitchen was a dream for those who like to cook and the outdoor grill and pizza oven added additional cooking options. The property management sent someone to meet us in Cruz Bay and escorted us to the home for a personal orientation, which, given its isolated location, could have been a challenge to find, especially in the dark. A Jeep is absolutely necessary to get around the island (steep hills and hairpin turns) and made getting beach equipment down to the beach less of a hardship (the driveway is STEEP!). Groups with smaller children may find this property to be a bit challenging as there are steep drop offs and steps, and the bedrooms are separated. Gas, groceries, shopping is all mostly back in Cruz Bay or in Coral Bay, both at least 20 minutes away by car. Garbage disposal on a daily basis is required by the management and we learned that roadside dumpsters are not located along the North Shore Drive or any of the National Park areas. The best route to a dumpster is to head to Centerline Road. Overall, this home was truly a little bit of heaven—isolated enough to afford some serenity but close enough to enjoy the beautiful beaches of the northern side of the island. While snorkeling, we saw octopus in Trunk Bay and Waterlemon Cay, numerous sea turtles in Maho Bay and even a few dolphins in Frances Bay! We were sad to leave but will cherish the many wonderful memories made in this home.

Amazing Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at the Maho Bay House! Our group consisted of three generations of family members ranging in age from 24 - 83. We spent a lot of our time outside admiring the amazing views. The home is so secluded and quiet. I doubt there is anything else like it on the island. Having Maho Bay beach so close was perfect. We spent a lot of time there hanging out in the water. All of the rooms in the home are huge! Lots of space for everyone to hang out or have alone time. A plus that we didn't expect is all of the wildlife that visits the property. We saw deer, crabs, frogs, and all types of birds. This home provided all we needed for a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

Building on St. John is difficult but we couldn't find any existing homes with the features of this land. The ability to walk to Maho bay can't be overemphasized. Packing five sandy kids in and out of jeeps made going to the beach a chore and that's gone. There's also complete privacy amidst the national park, you only hear waves and birds in the morning, tree frogs and waves at night. The views are ridiculous. We hear all the time now it's the "best view on the island". The construction journey was slowed by hurricanes and now a pandemic but we've persevered and couldn't be happier with the result.
