Anchor Inn (3BR/2.5BA; Sleeps 9; 6S & 1 Single over Double Bunk Bed) offers eclectic style and overwhelming character that can only be found in a classic Edisto beachfront cottage. Feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle as you enjoy amazing views of the world-famous sunsets over the St. Helena Sound. The open floor plan keeps everyone together creating new memories and traditions. Cable television and wireless internet will keep you entertained if a brief afternoon shower interrupts your sunny day on the beach. After hot days in the sun, rinse off in the spacious enclosed outdoor shower before relaxing on the shady screened-in porch listening to the sounds of the Carolina coast. Your private walkway leads to a private covered gazebo which a great place to enjoy your favorite book. Continue down the walkway to the wide, flat, sandy beach with low rolling waves. Sit back and let your worries float away with the tide - you will be on island time before you know it. No Smoking. No Pets.
*Please note: All bathrooms are Shower Only.* One Full Bathroom and the Washer/Dryer are located on the ground floor and are separate entry.*

Great Time in Edisto Beach

We loved the location, access to the beach, front porch, and the outdoor shower. The house is older but well taken care of and you can't beat the location. We had a great time and the house was very comfortable for our party of 6.

Picnic weekend

We enjoyed all the space. We did have to push two beds together for sleeping purposes. Enjoyed all the table space, great for buffet styles means. Great long weekend!

Spring retreat

I brought my daughters and grandchildren down for a long weekend during my spring break! We had a great time. The weather was perfect for beach going and we had everything we needed for a nice stay. We usually camp in the summer but this was a nice relaxing upgrade from camping life! Perfect sunsets were the icing on the cake.

College Buddies Fishing Weekend

This is a great property for a guy's weekend .... property is an "old school" beach house which we loved and had pretty much everything we needed. Just a few suggestions ... consider replacing some of the furniture, especially the sofa, replacing the electric stove / oven, and consider adding a 2ndary refrigerator / freezer in the downstairs area. Overall, our group enjoyed the stay, and the Property manager was very attentive and responsive.

Perfect place for a guys only fishing trip

Found this property while searching for a place to rent right on the beach somewhere around Charleston. This place looks to be have been built a very long time ago but is a classic. Was perfect for a guys only fishing trip. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you. It is a classic beach house right on the water. Great views from the back porch, very quiet, great location down at the end of the island. Walk from the bedroom to the beach in less than a minute. Fishing was great right out the back door. Caught many whiting right off the beach. I will book this place again for an annual fishing trip with my son and his friends.

Old timey cabin; poor description and instructions from property manager

This is a no-frills, rustic cabin in a great location. We enjoyed the beach access and views. However, we were not aware that the double bed was located in a musty, separate room under the house, so my husband and I slept in a bunk bed on the main level. We also could not find the washer and dryer. I called Carolina One and it took them six hours to call me back. In the meantime, we found the washer and dryer in ANOTHER separate musty room under the house. There is also a third separate musty room under the house with a shower. These are all locked and only accessible by walking outside of the house and bringing house keys with you. Bottom line, it would have been nice to have information about the location of these rooms included in the VRBO description and in the info folder inside the house. It also would have been nice for Carolina One to respond sooner. Their answering message says that during business hours they will return calls within an hour. This wasn’t the case for us. Incidentally, the washer and dryer were newer and worked great. We loved our visit to Edisto but would have liked to have known all the above information before we got there.

Sara, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We value your feedback! First and foremost, we are disappointed to hear that your call was not returned promptly. We can assure you that this experience is not the norm, and we focus on repsonding to all calls and emails in a timely manner. We apologize for any features that were unclear in the listing information, and have updated them accordingly in the written description of this home in hopes to avoid any confusion in the future. The downstairs bedroom that you encountered is supposed to be locked off from guest use and is not included in the marketing information as one of the 3 bedrooms available. Our maintenance staff has rekeyed that room to prevent any guest use or confusion in the future. The separate entry ground level rooms, which many older homes here on Edisto offer for additional bathing, storage, utility areas, are not conditioned like the main level living quarters so they do take on the nature of the salinity in our environment creating a more humid/damp odor. This generally dissipates after a bit of use, and we apologize for any surprises regarding the nature of those areas. Our local staff is available to answer any unit specific questions that you may have for future visits. We would love to invite you back for a more enjoyable stay during any season.
