Enjoy our charming vacation rental with only a short walk to the beach. This newly remodeled home is on a nice private street that is in close proximity to the beach. The intercoastal waterway is right around the corner for excellent fishing and kayaking. This home is well appointed with everything you will need for a laid-back getaway, including a brand new heated 31x16 inground pool. Enjoy the front porch for sunrises, and back screened porch for sunsets and the sound of the ocean.

Nice Rental for Oak Island

House is perfect for small groups, we stayed there with my wife, 2 kids, and parents. House was very clean, pool is perfect and the owners are fantastic. Kathy was always a text message away and incredibly helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay there again!

Yearly beach trip

This house was one of the best we’ve ever rented! The saltwater pool was a delight and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us! The owners are very friendly and we felt they really want everyone to enjoy their stay. We all agreed this house was a definite repeat!!

Quiet house in OIK

Kathy was a great host. Very helpful with information. Oak Island is away from the hustle and bustle of big tourist towns. It’s quaint and very quiet.

The best!

We’ve been vacationing as a family for years and have stayed at many different places. Clare House-Dennehy was the best house we’ve stayed at! It was so nice to walk in and have it be better than the pictures and SO CLEAN! The kitchen has allll the things anyone could need. The primary bed is so comfy. And the pool is AMAZING.

Great for families!

The house was well-stocked and clean, and the perfect spot for our family vacation. The pool is awesome and great for kids - we enjoyed using it every day! Kathy was a pleasure and quick to respond. She gave us the ok to harvest some vegetables from the garden for a lovely summer salad and fried green tomatoes! Overall great memories were made!

Relaxing vacation with all amenities needed

The home was great. It accommodated 4 adults and 3 kids aged 7-9 with no issues. The house was clean and well equipped with everything needed to stay for the week. The pool was prefect in size and was cleaned twice the week we were there. The owner, Kathy, was always available if we needed anything and was great to interact with. The location to the beach was a 2-3 minute drivewas and there was plenty of parking available. Overall if we choose to go back to Oak Island, we would love to stay here again.

Vacation 2023

Our vacation at the Clair House was amazing! We rented it for a week and never left the place only to go to the store. We cook in. The kitchen was well stock. The pool was great. Lots of games.Kathy is a great host. Thank you For renting your place. Cuffia Family

Perfect Family Vaca

We had such a great stay at the Clare House! The house is stocked so well with everything you could need and was very clean. The pool was AMAZING! It was perfect for my young daughters with all of the steps, ledge that went around the whole pool, and the sunbathing ledge. The house was decorated very nicely, the furniture was great.. no complaints from us. Kathy was such a gracious host and was available for any questions we had. She was really on top of everything and made sure we had an amazing stay. 10/10 would recommend!

Perfect off beach home with great amenities

We stayed for a week in the beginning of July, 2024. Unlike anywhere else we have stayed at oak island in the last 16 years, the linens were already in place, and basic amenities were there (hand soap, TP, trash bags, etc.). When we left we made sure to restock the supplies we used but it was so nice to not have to worry about that day one. The house was very well equipped, a loaded kitchen with all you need, comfortable beds and furniture, speedy internet, and nice TV's. The kids room even had a desk where we could setup our laptop. Outside it had a lovely pool with chairs, seating in the shade, and a fully screened porch that was great in the evenings. The driveway was nice and wide, easy to get in and out, and plenty of parking space. Lastly Kathy was really nice and communicative with all information relayed by text in a timely manner. And aside from that she was not intrusive in the least which I know some owners can be. I really can't say enough positive things about our stay, we truly loved it.

I can very confidently say this was the best VRBO rental we ever had. Kathy was the nicest host who you can tell wants everyone to love her property! We were a family of 4 with two teens and grandparents. We wanted a quiet relaxing vacation away from it all. Clare House was perfect for the 6 of us. The porches were beautiful, especially the screened in back. We started our day there every morning. The highlight was definitely the pool. Swimming at night was amazing! It gave us something to do the couple of days it rained. It's is close to beaches, although I don't think I would walk. Parking was easy as there is beach access in so many places once you cross the bridge. One recommendation is make reservations at restaurants if you want to go. They are all small, so if you don't you could have an hour or two wait! We would highly recommend this area to anyone, and this house for sure. Thank you Kathy for sharing your beautiful home and story with us. We made great memories!

Fun Away from Home

The entire property was clean, organized and beautiful. The pool was temperature-set for refreshing but not cold. We utilized the grill 2 different nights for delicious dinners thanks to the nearby Publix. I'm not sure I could ever talk my husband into coming back with me, my sister and our DD daughter, but I would do it again in a quick minute!!

You'll never want to leave!

The house was extremely clean, which is a very important factor to me. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. The beds were extremely comfortable and the overall decorating was great! The pool was simply outstanding and the owners ensured that it was cleaned twice while we were at the house. The pool at night is lite up and it makes for great evening swimming. The house also had numerous board games and the t.v.'s had a great selection of channels to enjoy. The neighborhood was very quiet, but close to stores and restaurants. The best part of the house were the hosts, Kathy and Matt. I had a few questions and Kathy addressed them immediately. The only suggestion I would give is to put a room darkening shade in the master bedroom. Without a doubt, this house is by far the nicest house I have rented on VRBO!

This place was amazing

Mrs. Dennehy was very responsive to all questions and very quick to respond. The house is just as beautiful and clean as the photos on the vrbo site, and the pool was amazing. This property is very short drive to the beach. Our overall experience was well over 5 stars!!!!!!! Hope to stay here again someday in the future. Thank you again for a wonderful vacation. OASIS on Oak Island

Amazing pool and everything we needed for a wonderful week with friends! We did go to the beach one day which is a short drive with plenty of parking, but we preferred to stay at the property. It’s clean, quiet, private. Oak Island is a hidden treasure! None of the commercialism’s of most beaches. Lots to do there with TVs , games, inside and out. You won’t go wrong!

Wonderful and ample seating inside with an amazing recliner/massage couch, dining table for 8-10 adults and outside on the front porch and the rear screen porch! Everything you need in the kitchen. Two rooms with very comfortable king size beds.

Fantastic place to stay!

We so enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of living and dining space for us to gather to watch a movie and play with our granddaughter. The screened in porch was very relaxing at the end of the day. Great place! The owner was very responsive to my email/text questions.

Amazing place!

We went down to Oak Island for our family vacation and this place was absolutely perfect for us! We were impressed with everything from top to bottom. We absolutely loved the backyard set up and spent a good deal out there at night! One of my best VRBO stays to date and if we return to Oak Island we hope to be able to stay here again!

Excellent Vacatuon

Loved our stay at Tranquil Harbor. The house is a wonderful rental place to spend time with friends and family. We particularly enjoyed the open living space, screened in back porch and fire circle. Would definitely stay at this rental again.
