The Resort:

Oceanwalk is located across the street from the best beach on Hilton Head Island. This condo is a 10 minute walk (1 mile) from Coligny Square where guests will enjoy live music, restaurants, shopping and ice cream. On site we have an outdoor pool, indoor pool and jacuzzi. Rent a bike and take a ride down one of many bike paths that surround the complex.

I have never left a negative review with VRBO or the other owner rental app. The only positive things I have to say are that the condo was pretty clean and it was roomy. Other than that, our stay was a disaster. We received a message a few hours prior to check in on Wednesday that the refrigerator was broken and one would be delivered the next day. It never came before Sunday. There was a dorm fridge in unit B but it didn’t have enough space to put groceries. We chose to rent a condo so we can could cook breakfast and lunch. It cost me 600 more due to not having a fridge. The owner told me he would give me a refund. Apparently he felt that 150 was appropriate. I spent over 1100 for the week plus 600 in eating out that I wasn’t expecting to spend. The renters before us had taken the key fob (which is necessary to use the back elevator or the pool) so I had to go and get a money order and go to the property management office to purchase a key fob for 24.99. I was supposed to be reimbursed for that also and I assume it was included in the 150 refund. The front elevator broke and we had to use the back elevator. They are renovating the pool so it was loud and smelled badly. The mattress in unit A was comfortable and one of the mattresses in Unit B was. One was not comfortable. The tub dripped heavily in Unit A and it was annoying at night. I informed the owner and he said he would call a plumber. Not sure if he did. I gave daily updates to the owner. I’m VERY disappointed.

OMG???

Constructin in progress. No one told me.leaky faucet. Pool and hot tub under construction.If I had known it was under construction I would have gone somewhere else.

Excellent Vacation!

We had a great week at this property on Hilton Head Island. The condo was just as described and met all of our needs. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family of five. The condo is looking a bit tired and could use some work, such as bathroom drawers and such, but nothing that ruined our stay at all. It had basic cooking tools, but missing one important item--a baking sheet! Other than that it had everything we needed for our meals at home. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had and were great to work with. We would definitely rent here again. We loved the quick walk to the beach and the bonus of this property is it has both an indoor and outdoor pool, which is great for the kids when they are overheated and need a break from the sun.

Our 1st Vrbo

Our unit was on the 3rd floor of a building off S Forest St, Hilton Head, SC. When we opened the door a smell hit us in our faces. The smell was probably from the cleaning materials used or was in the ventilation system. The only way to alleviate it was to leave windows and doors open so that smell could dissipate. If we closed everything up again, smell returned. The unit looked dingy/dirty. The front mat was dirty! I cleaned the placemats myself! And the floor behind our bed looked as it critters had lived there. I can send pictures. The bed was very comfortable and the location was excellent. The refrig had dripping water in it. The shelves were always wet. the garbage disposal was broken. The key box on the front door worked well but we had to contact Vrbo for code to adjust cooling system. Contacting Vrbo was a nightmare because I signed up with my email and my husband signed up with his. I really liked having a coat rack so that I could just hang stuff on it and not have to hang items in the closet. Few hangers in both bedroom closets. TVs were difficult to use and we were unable to successfully contact Vrbo contacts after the first connection.

Not great

Several things were not up to par. It took one hour to get T.V working. No directions. The beds were old and awful. The fan in the guest room was so loud. Either fix it or disconnect. Leak in the refrigerator which I understand has been there. The kitchen and furniture all very old. The sliding glass door was impossible to slide. No dish towels at all. I could go on but this is plenty. Very disappointed. Oh one last thing went to turn lamp on and the switch was glued to it. It broke off.

Clean condo in a convenient location!!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The condo was clean. The condo is in a very good location that is very close to shops, restaurants and is only a short 8-10 minute walk to the beach. The inside pool is a lifesaver if you have kids and the weather doesn't cooperate. The owners were really nice and very quick to respond to any questions we had. Check in and check out process were very easy. The only reason I did not give this property a 5 star rating is due to the fact that the mattresses on the 2 queen beds are extremely uncomfortable. They definitely need to be updated. The only other suggestion I have for future renters is to be aware that there aren't many cooking supplies in the kitchen so you may not be able to cook many things. Other than that it is a great condo to rent for your beach vacation!

First time visitors

Great Location. The layout is good for family with teens, or two couples. The check-in process could be better outlined as unless you've been there before or run into someone else fumbling around, it's not clear and or intuitive. Kitchen has enough utensils to make a meal. Flo was responsive.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

Love this property! The location was perfect. Quick walk to the pirate park in the morning so Mom and Dad can grab Coffee and Crumbs while the littles play, then grab lunch at the plaza, and quick walk to the beach for the rest of the day. After the beach, in the evening we could swim in the indoor pool and enjoy the hot tub. Our favorite location to stay!

Unsanitary and broken furniture

Where do I start? Upon entering the condo, we noticed broken drawers that don’t close, no bed skirts, exposing old and dirty mattresses/box springs. All of the dishes were dirty. The refrigerator was dirty. There was dust inches thick on tvs, dressers, blinds, ceiling fans, and doors. You couldn’t change the temperature on the thermostat so we were stuck in a hot, filthy condo for three days. The wagon and chairs were on the balcony, broken with sand still in them. The worst thing was the Sheetrock above your head in the shower that was about to collapse, a huge crack and hanging. I have pics of everything. Don’t stay here. My son has terrible allergies and the dust has bothered them to the point he is coming home “sick.” It’s one thing to be dirty but it’s entirely different for the cabinets to be broken and the ceiling caving in. I saw someone post about this over a year ago and it’s still not be repaired. Shameful. No one pays to stay in a place like this. Our first day there cops were walking door to door with handcuffs to arrest a woman who had beat another one up the day before at the pool. They stated the condo used to be a crack house and they still have trouble from time to time. The condo owners appear to mostly still be slum lords. We had two other families with us in different condos and one was nice and the other was almost as filthy as ours was. Having owned an event venue for 8 years, I’m aware of the challenges of repairs and high electric bills but to charge a rental fee with no ability to control a thermostat and ignoring repairs that are health and safety hazards is wrong. I will follow up until I get a resolution. Stay away from this property and especially this unit!!

Great space and location

We had a great time, the apartment is comfortable for a family and close (8 min walk) to the beach. My sons loved the indoor pool and hot tub. The apartment is a little outdated, specially appliances, but it’s clean and has most of the things you might need. I think its an good and affordable place to stay at HHI.

Mini vacation

I enjoyed, condo was as listed. Only issue was the main door would not open from the inside, I contacted owner and she was going to take care of it, just used the other door. The indoor pool and hot tub are one of my favorite features of this condo.

Love HHI

I mostly enjoyed my stay. I absolutely love how the unit is split into two areas. My mom goes to sleep early, so that was great for me and my friend to be able to relax at night without disturbing her. Plenty of space. Loved the indoor and outdoor pool option. We decided to drive right down the street and park in the public beach access and walk across to the beach. Kitchen is stocked with the basic stuff you need to cook breakfast and little meals. There is a 2nd elevator which is awesome since the main one went on the fritz the last night we were there. A few things to consider Beds in 2nd room are very very hard/firm. If you need a softer type mattress bring a mattress pad or topper. There is no instruction manual on TV remotes so it took us a little while to figure that out. Basic check in instructions, but enough to get you in there. Only two rolls of toilet paper for 4 days with 3 women so we did have to buy some of our own. Bring your own bathroom items. (Soap, shampoo, conditioner) Only reason I put this is some VRBO hosts will put stuff out for you so. This is not a bad thing just tips for you. Lastly if you like to sleep in and are like me need a dark room both bedrooms have sheer curtains. The minute that sun comes up the room is very bright. I wish there was an option of a black out/dark curtain to pull over the windows. Again, not a bad thing just letting people know in case they need a darker area to sleep. ***one more thing some units are under renovation so there is construction noise that starts at about 8am daily** Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Great property and beach proximity

Overall, the condo was a great size and very clean. The resort pools and hot tub were great as was the security measures. The beach was a short block away. I could nitpick minor issues with the condo that would have affected us if we had a bigger party. One being the leaking refrigerator. We didn’t keep much food in so wasn’t an issue. Had we needed more space this would have been a problem. Also, we only had 2 washcloths. Being a part of 3 this wasn’t too terrible. Lastly, we only had one access key for property entry and we had to plan our entrance if my husband and I split up. The stay was great and we would definitely come again. The minor issues are easy fixes. Perhaps at a less busy time of year next time, though.

Beautiful and has plenty of room.

Beautiful condo with plenty of room. Perfect for a family or mutiple people. Short walk to the beach. We loved our stay. The host answered all out questions and was very friendly. I will definetly stay again on our next trip to Hilton Head.

Plenty of space

After reading the reviews, the check-in process went smoothly and we quickly unpacked our suitcases. The condo has plenty of space for multi-generational family and nobody felt cramped. Kitchen was stocked with a couple dish pellets and laundry pellets and a starter amount of paper products which was much appreciated. We had a great time and hope to return in the future.
