It was perfect! We wanted a getaway where we could go do things or just enjoy where we were. This place was exactly that. All the little touches that the hosts provided just made it awesome. We left talking about when we’d be coming back.

Great location nestled in the wooded hills of Virginia. This unique place has something for everyone, whether it is a soak in the hot tub, smores by the fire pit, or lazy mornings sipping coffee in rocking chairs off the main deck. This place was well stocked, and away from all the noise. Kevin was gracious and responsive to all our questions. Highly recommend.

AWESOME stay! The owner has thought of every amenity -eg basic spices, coffee maker for keurig cups as well as ground coffee, tea, all things needed to cook … they even provided all you need to cook s’mores on the fire pit!! Beds were super comfy and place is exactly as described. Beautiful and quiet! We didn’t have time to hike the property but hiked Dark Hollow Falls and we REALLY appreciated the fabulous hot tub- which we used every night-Even in the rain! There was some firewood left on the porch and we made a fire one night, cooked on the outside grill and ate by the fire…so nice! Just note, when we went down to get more wood, it didn’t have a cover and all was wet due to the rain. Not sure if there was a tarp and the last guest didn’t put it on or we may have looked in wrong place? Anyway, the host is super responsive but as noted internet is spotty. Again- we had a great time and the home and grounds were SUPER nice! Would stay again and highly recommend to others. Ps- this was a girls trip and there were 3 of us in our 60’s :)

Long Weekend

We throughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Bougie Bunker. Great house, beautiful views, private and secluded still close enough to enjoy local area restaurants, shops, attractions and vineyards.

Super nice mountain vacation!

Really enjoyed the time here. It was clean, had everything we needed, comfy beds, and lots of lovely aesthetic touches. You're just remote enough to feel alone but close enough to civilization to be convenient. The location is great so close to the different caverns and all the hikes at Skyline Drive. We would definitely return.

Unique and “Bougie” Mountain Getaway

We absolutely loved this secluded mountain retreat. The accommodations were excellent and this place truly lives up to it’s “Bougie Bunker” name. Enjoy the seclusion of 45 acres, beautiful mountain views, and the tranquility of a forest setting. If you are looking for a unique getaway, I highly recommend you consider staying here.

Anniversary Celebration

My husband & I stayed at the Bougie Bunker to celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was the perfect place for us. It was secluded and peaceful. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed comfortable. Highly recommend.

Our stay

The property was everything and more than we expected. The property owners had thought of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be returning next year. If your looking for peace and quiet this is the place.

Serenity

The place was unique. The views were spectacular and it was so peaceful. My family enjoyed their stay and to say the least it was everything the owner said it would be. We would definitely come back.

Shenandoah 1/2 marathon

The property is amazing in all ways. Not only has the host thought of everything (smores kit, towels for the hot tub, interests in the area, corn hole, horseshoes, walking trails, board games, card games, toiletries, etc), the views & peacefulness were outstanding. We truly enjoyed the area for our son's 1/2 marathon in the Shenandoah. Great location for some much-needed family time.

Amazing place for a family getaway!

We had a wonderful time at the bunker! The property is beautiful and most interesting place we stayed so far. Very clean and welcoming, more fun than we expected. The porch with a mountain view itself would be enough to call it a great place to relax and chill. Add to it a well prepared bone fire place for evenings, with sky full of stars above, and you may need nothing more. Perfect base to visit nearby National Park, Luray caverns and more. We loved it!

Delightful

The property is clean, quiet, and delightful. We stayed with our family and enjoyed being away from it all. The property is so well appointed. We enjoyed unplugging and spending some quality family time together. It’s a beautiful area! The bunker is so much fun! We enjoyed the extra touches, such as the s’mores kit! Great place to stay in the area.

Great Getaway Near Shenandoah!

We loved the unique house, and the proximity to Shenandoah National Park. We also enjoyed the fire pit, and the complementary S’mores kit. The house was extremely clean, and comfortable. I particularly liked the art work displayed. The kids loved playing horse shoes, and we all had a fun time playing Uno in the game area of the house. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience!

Quiet & peaceful

We stayed in the bougie bunker for 4 nights. The home has been beautifully updated, there was great attention to detail. Views were breathtaking. And the home is in close proximity to the areas attractions/ places to see etc. I will just add, that the cell service (for us) was very slow/ spotty, there was one good spot on the porch - otherwise we had to wait till we got to town to really connect/ call anyone.

Quick birthday trip

Couldn't be happier with our pick. House was tucked away and private, very unique. Close to downtown luray. Had dinner at chop house bistro first night. Visited luray caverns next day. Grabbed sandwiches at west main market. The property is amazing. The home is even better. Views are incredible. Owners were very responsive. I'd definitely stay again. definitely visit again.

Mountain Seclusion

This being our first escape to the Shenandoah Region we planned lots of outdoor adventures, from hiking the AT, river tubing, caverns, exploring quaint towns, and more. We were excited about the bunker, but nothing could have prepared us for the amazing experience. It’s nestled within the mountains and very secluded. We had a great time porch sittting and looking out on the mountains. The hosts do a wonderful job of making the bunker cozy and providing extras such as games, movies and s’mores for the fire pit. As much fun as we had exploring the region, we always looked forward to coming back to the bunker to relax. Thanks for a great stay!
