{Forget-Me-Not Inn} Vacation Rentals (Bear Suite) is a beautiful vacation rental property in Sitka, Alaska. This one-bedroom apartment is extremely spacious for your whole crew! If you're looking for an unforgettable stay for your Alaskan adventure, this is the perfect place. It is conveniently located 7 minutes away from downtown Sitka by car and is right on the main road for easy access around town.

This one-bedroom unit is equipped with a full kitchen, oven, stove-top, Keurig coffeee machine, microwave, etc. There's a huge 65" Smart TV to stream your favorite shows in the living room, with two recliners and a Queen size pull out sofa bed. A 50" screen TV in the bedroom, with a King Tempurpedic bed. The bathroom has a shower/tub, as well as wall-mounted mirror and hair dryer. All of the linens, towels, kitchen accessories, etc, are all provided. There's parking included, as well as complimentary laundry on site. And free Wifi!

This is a really nice property. The washer and dryer are really nice. A functional thermostat in the unit would be a big plus.

Enjoyed the stay

Forget-Me-Not Inn met my expectations and was a very comfortable location (if you have a car). It is not really walkable from downtown, but the Ride bus Red Line does have a station just a couple minutes away (walking) and runs once an hour. My only complaint is that I sent the manager two separate messages through the App with questions have not received a response to either of the messages.

The place was very clean and nice. But here’s my suggestions. The tub drain is very slow. The door hinges and locks need greased and adjusted. You need to put trash bags in the apartment and maybe some storage containers for leftover food.

I loved how comfortable the bear suite was. The little bears and theme was so cute. I was able to cook a breakfast and everything was there . A little home away from home. I would stay there again.

Property was ok. Communication needs help. I purchased a bath mat due to slippery tub when taking a shower. An extension cord would be helpful for a lamp in the bedroom. Otherwise the property was clean and sufficient, we would stay again in this property.

Comfortable, well appointed, right on the beach property. The Bear Suite faces the road and a beautiful wooded mountain, but there is a little deck you can go out and see the ocean and sunset!

There are 3 other rooms in the building, so make sure you know that's what you're getting. The bedroom is connected to another room by a thin wall, so be wary of making loud noise, the rest of the apartment can only be heard from the hall though, I believe. The Bear Suite doesn't have a view of the ocean, but it does have a gorgeous view of the mountains. The owner is very quick to respond to any questions or requests, and the Best Suite is equipped with plenty of cooking utensils (We bought a potato peeler). My partner and I both loved the apartment, it was worth the price we paid. Five stars across the board!

Newly remodeled apartment style accommodations with a beautiful view

Really nice apartment style building right on the water. Recently remodeled in good taste with free laundry facilities in the common area. There is a cool little beach right out the front door. At least one of the units has an outdoor seating area overlooking the water.

Sitka Vacation

This property was absolutely perfect for us! Perfect location and out of downtown. The check in/check out process was very easy. We didn't necessarily have an ocean view from inside our apartment but we did get the mountain view. We sat outside a lot, behind the building taking in the view of the ocean and Mt Edgecombe. The unit was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed except our groceries! The king size bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows! The bathroom was clean and organized with hotel type soap, shampoos, conditioners, body wash, and a hair dryer. This rental was one of the nicest we' e stayed in anywhere. The only suggestion I would make is to have a broom and dust pan for use during the week and also a small fan for days that get a little warmer. Our week got close to 70 almost every day and it got a little warm inside. We will definitely be back!

Waterfront?

First, let me commend the new property owner on her responsiveness and kindness! It's tough to take over a new property and not know what the expectations were of the customers who had booked before hand. While this property is indeed water front and the scenery perfect, the 'Bear Suite' is not. In fact, the 'Bear Suite' is directly on the busiest highway in Sitka. And before you scoff and ask "how busy could it really be in Sitka?", this highway connects the cruise terminal with the downtown tourist area. Trust me, it is really busy, 24/7! And that makes this suite very noisy and not at all relaxing. So, instead of a quiet relaxing 2-week retreat, I spent two weeks in sound-cancelling headphones trying unsuccessfully to ignore the constant traffic noise and without the benefit of a beautiful waterfront view: two strikes. This is certainly not the new owners fault, but the listing needs to be a bit more upfront about what to expect. IF it were mine, and I am a host in my own right, I would say something like this..."Beautifully remodeled modern suites in a waterside location on the busy Halibut Point Road. Conveniently away from the center of town, but close to everything you'll need or want. Easy parking, on-site common laundry, Wifi, cable, and serviceable kitchens in each suite. Not all suites have full-on waterfront views. A great location to anchor your stay and come back to after a day of exploring, fishing, hiking, kayaking, or any of the hundreds of other activities available to you." The final strike is the fact that the construction of the building did not use adequate sound proofing between suites. I won't get graphic here, but at times I felt like was in a group home rather than in my own private space. Anyway, I've made the best of my stay and am thankful to have spent it in Sitka. Next time, I will make certain that my lodging is more suited to my expectations.
