Needs updating

First no where in the description did they say the third bedroom and laundry could only be accessed from the outside, only one dresser for all three bedrooms and 1 drawer was broken, no heat in the bathrooms so when the weather went below freezing it was to cold to shower, cold to take a shower,

Be Aware

The place was fine, the location was good, the game room was fun. Please be aware that one of the bedrooms is not connected to the main house of the condo. It's a separate entrance downstairs with it's own lock, etc. Because we had kids with us this did not work at all. Two of our kids had to sleep on the couch of the main room so they could be with everyone else.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was great about the house. We all had an amazing stay and there was plenty of room for our party of 8 (and dog). It's in a perfect location for the beach and restaurants. Heads up, the keys to the garage are hanging on the hook in the kitchen. That took us a while to figure out. Only negative thing was a cockroach in the garage. However, it's a garage and it's Texas, so no surprise. The hot tub and backyard to grill in was probably our favorite part.

Great set up but extremely dirty

The setup was great. Location was great but only if you want to be in the middle of all the action. The place itself was extremely unkept and dirty. My parents live close by. I had to bring sheets and blanket from their house to sleep on because the place felt so dirty to me. Marks on all the walls. I dropped something on the floor and used a wet paper towel to pick it up. The paper towel was black from the filth. I had to move a coffee table and it was filthy behind it. Could not sit in chairs outside. They were filthy.

Sleepless on vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property location and decor is a 5 star. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. I cannot recommend due to non stop barking dogs (4) on the property behind this one. We thought it would stop but it didn’t. There is also a bedroom with a Creosote poll that has a strong tar smell. So we could not use two of the beds in that room. We arrive an hour early and check in was denied due to it not being clean but in that hour no one showed up to clean. So it was clean it just wasn’t communicated to the front desk. At 4:20 we called back and was told okay you can enter. 4 kids and a long car ride we could have entered the whole time... was frustrating.

Michelle, We do our best to allow an early check-in, however, our check in policy is and has always been at 4 I apologize if that was a miscommunication to you on our part. I also want to apologize for the dog barking, but I'm sure you can understand, a neighbor's dog barking is out of our hands. We never want any of our guest to have anything but a completely satisfied vacation at one of our homes. We are gutted that you did not enjoy the time spent here. We thank you for your feedback.

Kids' inheritance 10/22 Joyless.

This is our 5th trip in the last 2 years to Port A; since we try to reserve the house several months in advance so that we have enough 'house' for us and some extended family. I bring this up just to offer that we're planners and we're not novices when dealing with short term rentals in the area. I was struggling to come up with a word to summarize my issue with this rental, and dealing with the reservation process; 'unfriendly' came to mind but that would be unfair. I'm going to settle on 'impersonal", the process was the most rigid one we've been through. One example is that he prior 4 rentals would allow you to get in about 30 mins to an hour ahead of the official check-in time- something much appreciated when you've driven for 4+ hours and would like to at least get your food in the refrigerator. They were clear on the check in process that the combination to the front door would be engaged at 4pm; we did give it a go by 3:12 with no luck; we tried it again about 30 mins later still with no luck. At 4:05 pm we gave it a 3rd try and it did work. Now, I do realize that rules are rules, and we did agree to abide by them. I think my problem here is that more than 24 hours prior to our scheduled departure, I am receiving emails and texts from the management company on when to get out and how to get out. (I had already received these several days before.) It kinda sucks trying to enjoy your short trip, and get multiple interruptions during your stay on how and when they want you to leave. They even sent a similar reminder this morning; I guess in case the other three from the day before didn't get noticed. Honestly, we just couldn't wait to get out, and uncharacteristic to us, we did so before 8am......normally we make one final morning jaunt over to the beach for a final visit. We just couldn't enjoy ourselves on this one, because the management company was such an intrusive pain in the a--. (Live and learn)

Hi Eric, I sincerely want to apologize that you were not satisfied with the stay. Our policy is 4pm check-in and we do the best we can to get our guests in sooner so they can enjoy, but we also want to make sure housekeeping and maintenance have enough time to correct and clean the rental. As for the emails and messaging, we are working on limiting those communications so that guests won't be bothered. We want to ensure we communicate that info so that our guests can be fully aware of all processes and not need to contact the office. We apologize for any inconvenience but hope you choose to stay with us again! -Bella

Review of the kids inheritance

1. The doors and cabinet doors were grimy with black fingerprints. Not clean at all. Kitchen appliances and baths were clean and bedding, but bad impression because of door frames, etc. 2. I fell ( I am 74 ) in a hole in the driveway after dark. It is an old palm tree hole and I requested the next day to have it filled or covered. You did not do that, in fact told me at first it was 'decorative'. I still have a bruised face because of it. You are liable for damages if anyone is so inclined. 3. You left us an unworking golf cart, which you replaced the next day. But all in all, it was an unsatisfactory experience because of inattention to details.

This location was perfect for my family. If you have physical restrictions this may not be a great fit due to living and kitchen areas are up a flight of stairs. It’s in a great location for my morning walks on the beach. The patio area is nice and the game area was used a lot by the kids.

A little disappointed

The kids inheritance is not a good house for more than 4 people. The hot tub is broken and the mgmt company doesn’t tell you till the day of. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one questionable room downstairs. The property is very old despite updates on the inside. The bathrooms are small and the square footage of the house is very tiny. I feel the house is very over priced for what you get. The golf cart is breaking down with a broken axle in the front, not safe. It backfires every time you stop. Enjoy if you want the risk.

Didn’t reach the bar

Communication with management company is very bad. Did not have access to half the property no key to get in. We called several times on this. They said they would let maintenance know….. no one ever called back. Golf cart had a wrong key in the lockbox. We couldn’t use it at first either. Bottom section is not connected to top section from the inside. Weird setup. Hot tub is for looks only. Doesn’t work. I understand they are busy at silver sands but they shouldn’t take on properties if they can’t handle the volume.

Great place

I specifically picked this place because it has a personal hot tub. I have a bad back and foot from an accident. I called maintenance twice and they never looked at it. It never had power and no one ever called me back. Very disappointed because of that and only that reason. This place is awesome but if something doesn’t work or is broken then don’t expect to get any assistance.

Rate was dbl the “as low as” nightly price…. Should’ve known then but booked 30 days out so couldn’t back out. They had all my money. And a they knew it. So let’s see: 1) arrived to unmade /unclean beds. Yuck 2) hot tub didn’t work and was within a foot from the electrical box (against code). 3) people came by on their golf cart to ask if we were ‘having anothe party tonight’ 4) “third bedroom” was not part of the main house. It was a built out TINY section underneath house/of garage. With seperate door to the street. Busy street. Due to space - this is where my teen girls had to stay at night. Nerves shot. 5) dirty hand towel with ‘something’ on it and hairs left on floor of second bathroom 6) blood stained sheets on one of the garage beds as well as the 2nd bedroom sheets. 7) no one answers the phone for the property mgmt (Silver Sands Vacation Rentals) We called and got nowhere. Well . I take that back. We constantly got The Silver Sands Golf Cart Rentals people who answered the -2600 number that is in ALL emails as being for the home rental… and they’re replies were “oh we just do the carts”. But when you ask how to contact the home rental company - they say to just keep calling back. Or. - if they said they would “transfer” us - we were hung up on. One time, when talking to a female (remember she only knew about the carts) I asked for her name. She hung up on me. 8) Even their emails are jacked up. The emails says do ‘this’ but when you call they say “oh that’s not how we do it “ or “that’s odd. It’s actually this”. So the head doesn’t know what the feet are doing. Even in email. 9). There’s more but that’s should convince you that this rental NOT for a family needing more than 2 rooms. And that this rental company is less tha professional.

Spring Break Getaway

We had a wonderful time at the Kids’ Inheritance! The house was clean and comfortable, and has a fun layout. The location was great and the nice new golf cart was a definite plus. We’ll be back!

Great location but house needs updates

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was very clean when we got there. Kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. When we got there we had trouble getting into the downstairs room and they were very helpfull when I called to get the code for ther door. . The golf cart was fun to have my 4 year old enjoyed riding to the beach and around town. However we never got in the hot tub since it was never warm enough. I called twice and left voice messages to see if someone could look at it but never got an answer or a call back. I think the patio needs to have alittle upgrade and better pest control. We saw a lot of roaches at night to the point we never used the patio again. My aunts also saw some roaches in the downstairs bedroom. The house upstairs is very clean and more enjoyable.
