Sunny 2-Story Loft with Ocean Views & Infinity Pool!

We do mention in our welcome manual that we have a dispenser for dish soap built-in to the countertop right next to the faucet. We're sorry Cheryl missed that but, if she'd let us know, we could have directed her to it. We also have a maid that comes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to take care of the dishes as well as all the other cleaning.

We're so pleased that John loved the setting and the house so much. Our style is minimalist but we definitely do provide all of the essentials and more. We're sorry that we weren't aware that the reading lamp was broken before his arrival. We heard how important that was to John and that he wasn't happy with just the overhead lighting so we replaced it first thing the next morning.--We also understand John's desire to see more ocean but we designed the homes to be *completely private* from each other. We purposefully placed the windows to maximize the ocean views as well as retain intimacy. Still, there are amazing ocean views from the living room, bedroom and the balcony.--We also realize that comfortable pool temperature is subjective but we do our best to accommodate everyone and err on the side of warmth without turning it into a giant "hot tub".--John's visit fell at the end of rainy season when most of Sayulita's dirt roads are rutted. We actually collaborate with neighbors to rake the roads to our homes at the end of each season to smooth them out and make it easy for our guests to drive to our property. Any car or golf cart can make it to the homes. No SUV is needed, not even during rainy season.--The walk into town and Sayulita's main beaches is only about 12-15 minutes so I'm not sure why John says "there's no walking" it. In fact, we recommend our guests don't rent a car since parking in Centro is very limited. Many of our guests have told us how much they enjoy the stroll through the jungle and our surrounding neighborhoods and, on the occasions guests don't want to walk, taxis are plentiful and the fare to the house is just $3US.

We are so happy to hear what a great stay Trent had. To ensure that our guests are getting exactly what they expect, we always let everyone know beforehand, from our initial reply, that the pool is shared equally between both homes. The pool area is totally separate, has its own separate entrance, and is located in between the two houses. It is the only communal aspect to the property. The pool and terrace are also amply sized to accommodate four persons comfortably with fully reclining lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas.

We look at every review as an opportunity to ensure our guests are receiving an experience that meets the standards of excellence that we set for ourselves. We were both surprised and disappointed to read Shawn's 3 star review as we had checked in with him during his stay and he gave us no indication that he was dissatisfied. Shawn's review is cryptic, so it is a bit hard to interpret his issues, but we will attempt to address every one of them here. In regards to the pictures he mentions, the house looks essentially the same as it is shown in the photos. We actively work to maintain the property, so certain minor items such as pillows, patio umbrellas and lounge chairs have been refreshed. Since these changes are only slight variations, we do not feel it is necessary to retake the photos. In regards to the balcony, we are not sure what Shawn means. Our balcony is large enough for 2 people to lie fully reclined and savor the sun and, additionally, for 4 people to enjoy dining al fresco at the table under the shade of an umbrella. We are happy to hear that Shawn liked the pool, although we are baffled when he says that it was cold. Our pool is heated by a solar powered system and it is always quite warm. If it were cloudy for several days in a row, the pool may not be as warm as usual, but it would never be cold without a total mechanical failure. We double-checked with our pool man and all the systems were operating correctly during Shawn's stay. At that same time, our other guests who shared the estate and the same pool had no complaints. When Shawn compares us to a hotel, he does not distinguish between two different experiences. We offer a level of privacy and autonomy not available in a hotel. We are an exclusive estate with two fully-equipped, independent homes where you will share the pool with at most 1 other couple. At the hotel Shawn mentions, you will share the pool and the grounds with up to 45 other couples. Incidentally, the day after we received Shawn's review, we heard from a guest who stayed in the same house as Shawn just one week prior. She wanted to share how incredible her vacation with us was and how much she enjoyed her time there, which confirms for us that Shawn's review likely comes from his personal preferences. We understand that we may not be the perfect fit for Shawn, but we are confident that our property is accurately represented by the photos, that our level of service is excellent and that our setting is exceptional.
