Family getaway

This place was awesome, so spacious and clean!! Booked it for a fun family getaway to float the river, unfortunately due to the flash flooding those plans were cancelled. The houses held enough room for all of us to still have an amazing weekend, filled with swimming in the pool, playing board games and having move marathons! Great place, definitely worth a visit!!

Great for big group!

My family was in town for a birthday party. This space was perfect for us to hang out together! The kids loved the pool & looking for fish and tiny frogs in the water feature by the front door. Definitely one of places to stay in NB (and we’ve stayed a lot since our son & his family live there). My husband liked that there weren’t any neighbors. Great host & a great spot for my people. We’ll be back!

Highly Recommend!

17 women traveled from all over the country to attend a retreat I hosted. We had the best time staying here. The pool was perfect for hanging out during the day. The main house was so cozy and comfortable with such a large group to hang out in. The kitchen was fully stocked to make cooking easy. The location was perfect for an easy trip to stores, New Braunfels and Gruene! The host and the property manager were quick to help when we needed and we’re so patient and helpful! We highly recommend this for a girls weekend getaway! You will NOT be disappointed.

Great Place

There were 18 of us that came to float the river. This place was great for us! We all had beds and loved the 2 houses. We all had plenty of room to hang out inside or under the covered porch. My only issues are very minor…. The smaller house does not have central heat and air only portable AC’s which made it kinda hot in there especially the kitchen and bathroom. As far as accuracy of online listing….the pool is very small and with 18 people we had hoped to all or mostly all to get in at the same time but that was not possible. And the property is very overgrown. You can hardly see the pond for the tall brush covering it and the rest of the property seems overgrown and unkept.

We’re really glad to hear your group of 18 had plenty of space, enjoyed both houses, and had a great setup for floating the river, that sounds like a fun trip. We also appreciate you pointing out the areas that could be improved. The smaller house does rely on portable AC units and mini splits rather than central air, and we understand how that can feel warmer in certain areas like the kitchen and bathroom during peak heat. Your note is helpful as we continue looking at ways to improve comfort. Our best advice is to keep them running and keep all doors shut for any future stays. Regarding the pool size, we completely understand your perspective. It is a smaller pool and is best suited for cooling off and enjoying in smaller groups at a time, rather than everyone at once. It is what you consider a lounge pool. As for the pond and surrounding vegetation, we want to clarify that the pond area has been impacted by ongoing drought conditions and is currently unfishable, as noted in our listing. We’ve allowed nature to take its course and the area to grow in while we wait for sustained rainfall. Unfortunately, it will likely take a couple of good rainy seasons to restore it to what it once was. We understand it may look different than expected, especially depending on the time of year. We truly appreciate your honest feedback and are glad your group still had a great time overall. We’d love the opportunity to host you again in the future for an even better experience.

Fun Family Trip - mixed ages

We look forward to a few days away every summer for our family of 15. We selected this ranch house which was beautifully decorated as in the photos and also in person but had a couple of issues. The house itself was perfect for the first 11 members of the family which included all the children. The small pool was a perfect size for them and the youngest 2 learned to swim while we were visiting. We had 2 little boys in our group that were looking forward to fishing in the catfish pond. Unfortunately, the photos are a bit outdated and the pond is overgrown with reeds. Even with more water, you still wouldn’t be able to fish it. There were also a lot of wasps around so we were on constant guard with the kids. The house did provide spray but needs to remove the nests The smaller cabin was also very nice but was quite warm which made it difficult to sleep in the loft area. The other 2 rooms were better with room A/C units. The cowboy tub/shower in the smaller cabin didn’t seem to have any hot water. The host was responsive when we faced a toilet issue and it was resolved in short order. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this property .. the small cabin if the weather isn’t too hot.

We’re really glad your family enjoyed the stay overall and that the home, pool, and space worked well for your group, especially seeing the kids learn to swim is something we love hearing about. We also truly appreciate the honest feedback and want to address a few of your concerns. In the listing, we do note that the pond is currently unfishable due to the drought conditions. We’ve allowed nature to take its course and let the area naturally grow in while we wait for consistent rainfall. Unfortunately, it will likely take a couple of rainy seasons to fully restore it to its previous state. We completely understand the disappointment for your boys expecting to fish, and we’re sorry for that mismatch in expectations. Regarding the wasps, we do actively treat the property for them. That said, if guests ever notice a nest during their stay, we always encourage reaching out right away so our maintenance team can come out and remove it promptly. As for the hot water in the smaller cabin, there is hot water available, and it may have been a matter of a setting or switch not being turned on properly. We always encourage guests to contact us during their stay for anything like this so we can quickly send maintenance to assist and make sure everything is working as it should. We’re also glad we were able to resolve the toilet issue quickly while you were there. Thank you again for your kind recommendation and helpful feedback, it truly helps us improve. Eclipse Stay

The property fit the needs our our family, however there were several things that left us a bit disappointed. Only 4 rolls of toilet paper, no trash bags, 1 roll of Paper towel,no salt & pepper or aluminum foil, baggies, hot tub connect to pool did not stay heated and the pool was dirty. Maybe a solar cover would have been nice. Some of the ceiling fans in main house did not work or we were told they make a loud noise. The sink in the kitchen in the main house did not have hot water and we discovered that it had been turned off under the sink. We were not told in the 2nd house that there was no ice machine so we had to go and by ice in addition to all the things listed above. Most people will be traveling to your VRBO and don't carry things like this and the other VRBO's that we stay at provide these things along with coffee or Kcups. One of the two coffee makers did not work so I would just throw it away and perhaps replace it with a Keurig. On a positive note there were plenty of towels for people to shower and use. I might suggest one of those shampoo, body wash and conditioner devices you can attach to the shower wall. The little bottles provided were nice but not enough for 20 people that the house can hold. Not sure if you have a cleaning crew that just did not replenish things. As a family we really did enjoy the layout of the complex but a few adjustments would make it better for the next group that comes in. Items we had to purchase should have been included.

We do provide starter supplies (such as toilet paper, paper towels, and basic consumables) intended to get guests through the first part of their stay, and we understand that for larger groups, additional supplies are often needed. We appreciate your feedback on how we can better communicate this ahead of time. We’re also sorry for the issues you experienced with cleanliness, appliances, and hot tub performance. That is not the standard we aim to provide, and we are reviewing each of these items with our cleaning and maintenance teams to ensure they are addressed properly. In the future with our stay or anyone else's be sure to contact the host during your stay to give them the opportunity to correct any issues that may arise. Regarding items like coffee supplies, seasonings, and personal-use amenities, these are not typically provided in vacation rentals, but your suggestion about clarity and consistency is helpful as we continue improving the guest experience. We truly appreciate the positive note about the space and towels, and we agree that the layout is well suited for larger groups. Your feedback is valuable, and we will use it to make improvements for future guests.

Our family of 15 stayed at 3 Chicks for 5 nights. The cabins are in a great location, not far to float the river, Schlitterbaun, or the Alamo and River walk in San Antonio. Plus near HEB (famous Texas grocery store) and all kinds of great restaurants. The swimming pool is small, but our 7 grandchildren enjoyed it and had lots of fun playing together.
