Makere Cottage is nestled on Soldier Hill with gentle breezes and breath taking views over Cane Garden Bay, surrounding islands and the Caribbean Sea. Situated within a tropical garden at the end of a short gated drive with a private 20-foot swimming pool and large sun terrace, Makere Cottage represents the ideal retreat in which to relax and unwind.

The cottage is very spacious and ideal for a couple or single guest. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, views over the bay and plenty of closet space. The large living room is very comfortable with a 3 seater sofa bed, armchair, day bed and dining table and is linked to the master bedroom via an adjoining 10-foot wide covered deck. The kitchen has all modern requirements and connects to the large private bathroom. There are a washing machine and tumble dryer in the nearby pump room.

The private swimming pool is on the same level as the cottage offering a welcome escape from the Caribbean heat. A sun terrace providing a spacious area for both sunbathing and al fresco dining surrounds the pool.

The cottage has been built very much in the ‘Caribbean Style’ with wooden decks, blue shutter windows, white walls and terracotta-tiled floors creating a clean and simple environment. With its positioning up on the hill there is usually a lovely cooling breeze at all times of year.

Makere Cottage is one of two short term holiday rental villas on the property. Both are one bedroom and completely private and separate to one another. They are rented only to couples or single guests to ensure a quiet and peaceful environment on the property. The swimming pool is for the exclusive use of guests staying in Makere Cottage.

Makere House is on the upper level with Makere Cottage below. To reach Makere Cottage you park on the upper level entrance drive and then walk down some stairs (approx. 20 steps) to reach the Cottage and swimming pool.

You will need to hire a 4-wheel drive vehicle on arrival in Tortola. We can provide you with contact details for a local car rental company who will meet you at the airport or ferry terminal and, if arriving after hours, arrange for you to be collected and taken to Makere Cottage where you car will be waiting. We will provide you with directions and a Google Maps Pin with which to find the property.

Our property manager lives nearby and can provide emergency assistance if you need it. Their contact number will be provided with the joining instructions.
