THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE RECENTLY IMPLEMENTED SHORT-TERM-RENTAL RULES THAT LIMITS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS OVER 12 YEARS OF AGE TO 10.

You are surrounded by full-time residents who work while you are on vacation. Please respect the town-wide quiet hours of 10pm to 7am. If you are cited by the police for violation of this, you agree your rental ends immediately with no refund of remaining rent and you forfeit your security deposit.

This is a large (3,000 sqft) home which backs onto the Tahoe Donner ski hill. Forget packing the car and gearing up at the ski slope. Simply change at home, go out the back door, strap your on skis and and within 2 minutes you can be on the ski slope. However, because of the slight slope and some traversing required, snowboarders are not able to "ski-in ski-out." The ski area is very small but is a great place for beginners and when lift lines at the bigger resorts are 30+ minutes the longest lines at Tahoe Donner tend to be about 2 to 5 minutes.

We have beds for 14. The Town of Truckee recently implemented Short-Term-Rental rules that limits the maximum number of occupants over 12 years of age to 10. This is important and you will be responsible for paying any Tahoe Donner and Truckee fines as a result of exceeding this number.

This home is at just over 7,000 feet in elevation and is not one of the 'lower' Tahoe Donner homes. There are few trees around it and this enables the expansive views. In addition, sometimes on clear nights we lie down on the back deck for awesome views of the night sky.

Tahoe Donner is a year-round resort located in the historic town of Truckee, California. In addition to being able access the Tahoe Donner ski area from the backyard, there are many recreational opportunities of the Lake Tahoe region.

Walk just a quarter mile up the street while treating yourself to the amazing views from Skislope Way and you will arrive at Tahoe Donner's 35 miles of hiking trails. The extensive network of trails provides fantastic views and a great cardio workout.

Golfers be sure to check out the Tahoe Donner golf course--the highest elevation course in Tahoe, known for having the best greens in the region.

Within Tahoe Donner you will find The Pub, The Lodge, and Pizza on the Hill. In Truckee, you will find amazing dining and shopping in a historic setting.

Located on the ground floor of our mountain home is our 'dorm' room with three bunkbeds and a game room with foosball and a large-screen TV. There is also a separate washer and a dryer. On the main floor are three bedrooms--one eastern king, one queen and one with two twin beds. There is a wide open, family style great room with open kitchen and dining area. The great room opens to the back deck perfect for BBQing, relaxing, and eating. Upstairs is a loft with a trundle bed and a computer desk. The home also is equipped with Wi-Fi.

Please note this house is at about 7,000 feet in elevation. If it snows you will need to have AWD or 4WD to get to it and (as with many of the homes at the higher elevations in Tahoe Donner) during snowstorms it is possible for the road and/or driveway to become temporarily impassible until they are cleared.

IMPORTANT: This is NOT a party house, and we strictly enforce the rental agreement. You may not have more than the reserved number of guests on the property at any time (day or night). Both the Town of Truckee and the Tahoe Donner Association forbid loud noise, or music after 10 pm and before 7 am. This is absolutely a NON-smoking property, no exceptions. Violations of the rental agreement will result in forfeiture of the security deposit and could result in substantial legal liability, so please read it carefully. Violations are a breach of your rental agreement and can result in termination of your stay with no refunds. Sorry, I understand that 95% of you don't need me to say this.

Check in time is 5pm. Checkout time is 11am. At various times during the year we have back-to-back rentals and the cleaners need every bit of six hours to clean (now 8 to 10 hours with additional COVID-19 cleaning procedures.) If you want to ensure early check in or late check out, please reserve an extra day on either end of your reservation :)

We supply linens and basic kitchen stuff like pots, pans, dishes, flatware. We try our best to strike a good balance between keeping fees reasonable and making sure everyone has a great visit to the cabin.

ALL people count, so include all in your reservation. This includes infants and children and anyone who will be on the property even for a short time during the day.
