While we loved St. John, this villa had multiple serious issues that significantly impacted our stay, especially given the price.Before posting this review, I privately emailed the host in September detailing these concerns and giving him the chance to respond. That email was ignored.Issues included:• Hurricane shutters that would not open/close, leaving the house exposed. My fiancé (an electrician) spent over an hour fixing them himself. Repairs appeared unfinished, and once closed, the living area became unbearably hot.• West bedroom was uninhabitable due to broken window panes allowing bugs inside and broken glass on the patio (photos attached).• Cleanliness issue: a used hygienic liner was still stuck to the luggage rack.• Power outage: Despite claims of backup power, we went hours without electricity and received delayed responses; we were later told the owner had to manually turn it on.• Water quality: Toilet water and ice/water from the ice maker were yellow.• Pool: Covered in algae and unusable—we switched villas specifically for a pool.• Snorkel gear: Dirty and unusable.• No welcome/check-out instructions, causing confusion.These were not minor inconveniences but serious issues affecting safety, cleanliness, and livability. Due to the lack of response from the host, I cannot recommend this property.I have more to add but the restriction on number of characters won’t let me explain everything to the fullest extent.

great location; beautiful view; great pool and outdoor area. it really is not a 3 bedroom, the "3rd bedroom" was more of an office with a pull out couch. Our daughter was not happy but we made the best of it. Not a lot of privacy since the second bedroom entrance you walked through the "3rd bedroom" unless you walked outside.Otherwise was great! Thoroughly enjoyed St John.

Common area of kitchen, living room, and covered dining patio are the “body”, the main BR and bath as well as laundry are one “wing” and the 2nd and 3rd BR and 2nd bath are the other “wing”. The pool deck is right off the dining area with a gate separation. The third bedroom does not have A/C or privacy so not great for a couple but fine for kid(s) (we kept the door between the 2nd and 3rd BR open to share the A/C which worked great)

Overall it was a wonderful. The one questionable thing is the listing as a three bedroom whereas it was a small room one had to go through to get to the other large bedroom and had a futon for sleeping.

Just Perfect

JP was great. The property was amazing and we had an extended stay. It's the perfect place to be away, yet be close enough to town to jump in the car and be right there. I have stayed many places and met many people, but you know when you know its just beautiful. Property was very clean and private. We will be back, thank you for having us as your guests. Wonderful Place to Stay at St John!

Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations! James was very communicative leading up to our stay, and met us at our car rental location to lead us to the property. Since this was our first time at St. John, this was very helpful. He gave us a tour of the property, sharing tips to improve our stay, and even prepared a snack platter of some goodies from a local market. The bathrooms and bedrooms were fully stocked with anything we could need (extra blankets, fans, AC, basic toiletries). The outdoor showers were really nice with a great view while still providing necessary privacy. The property had items for us to take to the beach (beach towels, chairs, paddle board, ice chest). This saved us from having to pay to rent this gear directly at the beaches. There was also sunscreen and bug repellent, which we really appreciated. The kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies so we could prepare meals in the kitchen. The open living was very comfortable, allowing us to still feel immersed in the outdoor environment at the same time. It was lovely ending the day by enjoying the private pool and sunset at the same time. If you wake up early enough, you can watch the sunrise on the other side of the property too. We were close enough for a short drive to the downtown area. The check-out procedure was quick and simple. We will be booking this property again when we return to St. John!

Girls trip

This was our first trip to St John. The property was perfect for our group of 3. We loved Everything anout it! Beautiful grounds, house, pool and sunsets. Quiet neighborhood 5 minutes from Cruz bay and 1 mile to gourmet Grocery store. Very well equipped with beach chairs, cooler, beach towels and beach bags. We snorkeled every day exploring the beaches on the island. We cooked dinner in on 2 occasions and the kitchen has everything you could need. We hope to return again in the future. JP was very helpful checking us into the home and giving us dinner recommendations for our first night. The Windmill for a drink then dinner across the street at Shambles! Highly recommend this home.

Fabulous trip to STJ

Our family of four (2 adults & 2 kids 7 & 9) had a fabulous stay at St. Somewhere for 10 days. We loved the complete open air experience, pool and kitchen. The bedrooms & master bath were even better than expected vs. the listing photos. We appreciated the beach chairs, outdoor grill, paddle board & all the extras for our first (but not last!!) trip to STJ!

Stunning views, stocked with everything!

We had such an amazing stay at Saint Somewhere. JP was a gracious host who met us at the property for check in and even brought flowers and a gift! I stay at a lot of short term rental properties - and this one was likely the most well stocked rental I have EVER stayed at. The kitchen had every appliance you could need - blender, air fryer, ice maker, coffee maker, lemon squeezer, dishwasher... everything! The bathrooms had endless supply of shampoo & conditioner, makeup wipes, soaps, etc. The house had beach chairs, snorkel gear, towels, sunblock, guidebooks, boardgames... EVERYTHING you could ever want/need. The views from the pool deck are so gorgeous - overlooking the Westin Beach for sunset... and also sunrise views! The pool was clean and temperate and lit - for swimming around the clock. The location is easily driveable to Cruz Bay. We loved the central sound system and outdoor showers! This place is so dreamy... I HIGHLY recommend! The only thing to note is that it really is a two bedroom. There is a space where an air mattress can be set up with relative privacy, but it's not a proper bedroom. Two couples, or a small family will LOVE this villa! We will definitely be coming back.

Simply Fantastic

Not often does a VRBO exceed expectations. Typically, VRBO pictures are better than in person, but this villa was an exception. James was a pleasure to work with and the house was fantastic. The space was open and clean. The view was beautiful. The pool was spectacular. The kitchen was very well appointed. We even had a cooler and beach chairs to use! Thank you for your hospitality! Our week was wonderful!

St. John - my happy place

A beautiful property-very nicely landscaped. Very comfortable furniture and beds. The outdoor showers were a lot nicer than anticipated. AC and fans in bedrooms were great. Kitchen had everything you could ask for inc. coffees, spices, oil, foil, baggies. Loved the ice machine and wine cooler! So many extras were provided - this is how a VRBO should be… but rarely is. The rainbows when it rained were beautiful. The pool was refreshing and relaxing. Lounge chairs everywhere. The open air living space took some adjusting to. Husband had a problem with no see ums - I didn’t have a single bite but he had many in spite of using sprays and lotions to repel them. I will recommend this lovely home to everyone. Have fun!

Best VRBO

We had an amazing experience at this VRBO property! From the moment we arrived, we felt very well taken cared of as well as private. The house was beautifully decorated, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had all the essentials, and the living spaces were spacious and open. The location was perfect – close to all the attractions we wanted to visit, but still quiet and peaceful. We especially loved the outdoor area, which was perfect for relaxing in the evenings after a busy day of sightseeing.The hosts were incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. They even left us a thoughtful welcome gift, which was a lovely touch.Overall, this property exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in St.John experience!

Villa was Great

Jp met us and went through property and it was like listed and was great. Downfall if you don’t have enough people to rent entire Villa an Islander will be renting out 3rd room below. It wasn’t a big deal but not as private as a 3 grand a week Villa.. Other downfall CAMARAS everywhere..Recording every move/sound. I asked about them I was told they don’t work… but glowed at night and put a sock over them. I can see the driveway / maybe the back but over the pool/ over the outdoor shower/ outside dinner table is a little excessive.Other than that hopefully it becomes more private with no renters or excessive cameras….place is beautiful just get rid of a few cams/ renters.

Perfect Getaway!

We had an unforgettable experience at this stunning property in St. John. The house was absolutely beautiful—spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed with breathtaking views from every room. It felt like a true oasis, offering complete privacy while still being close to everything we wanted to explore on the island. We truly enjoyed the open concept of the living area/kitchen, and the views from the pool and deck were unmatched. The highlight of our stay was the exceptional service from the property manager, JP. He was incredibly responsive from the moment we booked and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. JP provided great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants, and was always available to answer any questions we had. His attention to detail made our stay seamless and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and enjoy the beauty of St. John. If you're looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape this is the place! Highly recommend!
