Paradise on the Beach

VERY cute 1000 square foot home built in 2005! Leave the front door and you are on one of the nicest beaches in Baja. Ahh, your own private paradise... The beach is white sand and the surf is normally non-existent (except in winter). Makes for great swimming in water from 71 to 94 degrees. Walk on the beach at sunrise, then come home and cook a big breakfast in your large, pleasant, tiled kitchen. Each bedroom is a master with walk-in shower. Plenty of shelf space in the closet area to unpack all your personals to make it home.

Then swim, snorkel, kayak, lie around on the beach for a while... Sounds like it's just about time to enjoy an ice cold beverage at your own little palapa bar complete w/chairs and attached mosaic tiled table. Time for a siesta? Turn on the three ceiling fans, and those blue padded chaise lounges look awfully tempting under the palapa over the deck. Don't forget that good book...

Feeling kind of hot, are you? Don't feel like going in the saltwater again? Just step over to the outdoor shower, cool off, then lie right back down. Suddenly, all this outdoor living making you HUNGRY?...And isn't it about COCKTAIL TIME? Fire up the blender, then fire up the barbie and grill some of that fresh tuna you just caught.

Maybe sushi or ceviche would be good, instead. And a great big salad. Yummm. And would you just look at all those stars! I feel a moonlight walk on the beach coming on... Now you're VERY tired, aren't you? Lucky you have such comfortable beds to sleep on. Then guess what? You have to get up and DO IT AGAIN!!! I know it's rough, but somebody's gotta do it...It may as well be YOU! Hurry up and get down here!

We are located about an hour's drive north of the airport at San Jose del Cabo (SJD), at kilometer 103 1/2 on Mex Hwy 1. We are about 6 miles south of Los Barriles, which includes 2 miles of unpaved roads from Mex Hwy 1 to the property. On the beach, we are between Rancho Buena Vista and Rancho Leonero. The main grocery stores (Chapitos and Tienda Popular) and most restaurants are located in Los Barriles.

Not much is in walking distance from here. Renting a car at the airport is the way to go. Most of the major rental agencies have offices there. On Mex 1, south of the airport in San Jose del Cabo, there are several giant grocery stores, Soriana, CitiClub, Walmart. Costco is in Cabo San Lucas, about half an hour south of the airport, also located on Mex 1.

Our host, David, was fantastic. He invested time and energy to ensure we maximized our experience, with multiple dropped pins to points of interest and great restaurants. Plus, the location is perfect: the charming town of Los Barriles was nearby, but otherwise, the location was remote but safe. We were right on the water and shared a mile stretch of beach with, at most, 2-3 other people at a time. We will absolutely be making a return visit.

If you want to relax with peacefulness and a beautiful beach that is never crowded this is the place! Loved our 2 week stay and look forward to returning! Saw whales from our patio. The house was the best outfitted house we have ever rented on VRBO. It had everything. Our host Dave was outstanding in communicating with us. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely fantastic beach house!

The location was stunning - felt like we had our own private slice of paradise. The beach was calm, quiet and steps away, perfect for relaxing mornings and peaceful evenings, with sting rays constantly jumping right in front of you and humpbacks breaching. There is a rocky outcrop south of the house where we snorkeled right from the beach in shallow waters with tons of fish. The house was clean and well-equipped, it was a short drive to town where we found incredible food and charming restaurants. Truly the best of both worlds - secluded and serene, yet close to everything. Can't recommend enough.

Peaceful Piece of Paradise

Casa Paloma is located right on a most beautiful and private sand beach just north of Buena Vista beach resort. The casa is just as described and pictured in the listing. It has two master suites—East and West—both nicely appointed with fun artwork on the walls, a comfortable chair and king sized bed. Both bedrooms have walk in closets and en suite bathrooms. The common area located between the two bedrooms is large and comfortable and the kitchen is amazingly well fitted out do that you can make anything you like. The patio with palapa and covered roofing are completely private and peaceful. During our stay we saw 4 grey whales jusy in front of the casa no more than 200 feet from the shore! Extra bonuses included wild horses cantering by to the beach, wonderful sighting of hawks gliding over the beach and great snorkeling just up the beach at the point. Dave was very responsive and helpful with great suggestions.we really enjoyed our stay!

Great stay at Casa Paloma

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet at this home. This house has a great layout with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Right on the beach with a great view. Go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean and amazing sunrises/sunsets. The host was really easy to work with and had suggestions while we were onsite. Cant wait to stay here again with our friends and family.

We had an absolutely phenomenal stay here. The location is private and right on the beach. There was everything we needed for our whole family, including 2 kids (beach toys, linens, everything for cooking etc ). The house was spotless and the communication with David was the cherry on top. He was able to give very clear directions on how to get to the home and recommended all the best places to go. Tip: hire a driver to pick you up at the airport and take you here, then rent a quad/side by side for your stay ;)

Secluded Beach in a beautiful mellow area

We had a great time staying here and would highly recommend it! It is literally right on the beach!! We enjoyed drinking coffee on the beach every morning. Beautiful views every way you look. We saw stingrays jumping out of the water, we saw whales (from a distance) and lots of birds. If you are looking for something mellow and quiet then this is the place. The house is well stocked, we were able to easily make meals as the house had just about anything you would need. It was comfortable, we left all the doors open at night so we could hear the waves crashing outside. We felt safe and secure. The owner was great to interact with and he gave us lots of helpful information before we arrived. We recommend renting a side-by-side from Quadman, it was so much fun. This is literally how most people, including locals get around. Go to the grocery store, Chapito's in Los Barriles, it has everything you need. Check out the gringo restaurants/bars, Sweetpeas Tiki Bar and Smokey's. Go snorkeling at the rocky area up the beach, snorkeling gear available to use in the house. Enjoy the secluded beach!

Great spot on the beach

Just what we expected and are use to with our baja trips. A few mishaps during our trip but Duane was on them quick. Perfect place for two couples with the double master bedrooms. Overall a great stay!

Had a great time! Great beach and short drive to the small towns. House could use some upgrades/fixes and a deep cleaning, but the price is right. The owner was nice and always available by phone. Will stay there again.

Quiet Getaway

This casita provides a gorgeous view of the ocean with only a few other homes nearby. It was amazing to take about 60 steps out of the slider and be in the Sea of Cortez. Most days we were alone on the beach with very few people in sight. The swimming and water temperature was fantastic and it's about a 15 minute walk to excellent snorkeling. The casita is very well stocked with all the kitchen needs you could want. We enjoyed our stay and loved the privacy and quiet. *Travelers should know it's a bit of a drive down dirt/sandy roads to get to this property but we easily made the drive in a small compact rental car.

Beachfront Paradise

Awesome place in an even more awesome location. It’s about 10 minutes to LB and the perfect place to be just close enough to enjoy everything the town has to offer, but far enough to be away from the noise and commotion. Duane’s place has absolutely everything you need for your stay. Snorkeling gear? Yep. Towels? Plenty. Kitchenware, chairs, toiletries, cleaning items, sunscreen….yes. It’s a great place to watch the stars at night and then wake up to the most amazing sunrise you’ve ever seen. Duane, the host, is great with communication. If I had a question I messaged him on the app and within minutes my phone rang and he happily answered my question. Truly an awesome place to stay with an equally awesome host.

My happy place!

I’ve been coming to the East Cape for 25+ years and have always loved the tranquility of the area. This house was perfect for the vacation we sorely needed! Quiet enough for afternoon naps and close enough to town for a quad ride to get tacos. Perfectly set up for our group of 4 with a well stocked kitchen and super comfy beds!!!

Birthday Vacation

The perfect getaway

Wow! This was exactly what we were looking for! A beach vacation away from the crowds but close enough to town that we didn't have to prep too much. Dave is a great host who was just a call/text away. We talked on the phone before the trip to make sure I could find it (Google maps isn't correct but Dave's directions were easy to follow). The house is extremely well stocked. We had the beach to ourselves for as far as the eye could see. It was so wonderful that we're already planning our next trip back but bringing friends and family along.

Fun beach cottage!

We had a great time at Casa Paloma. The cottage is small, but very comfortable and what really matters most is the view and access to the really nice beach! We loved getting up early and walking on beach or sitting on the patio drinking coffee and watching the waves (and on a couple of days, the whales!). The cottage is a 15-20 minutes drive from Los Barriles in a small group of houses, so good to know a car is needed, but that also means the stay is mostly quiet and the beach not generally crowded. Also, an easy, 20 minute walk on the beach, or 5 minute quad ride, over to Buena Vista where there are a couple of fun restaurants. We loved having snorkeling gear and a kayak to use (the kayak is a double, the addition of a single would be nice, too) and a special treat was the very friendly dog’s, Choppo, visits for stick throwing. Overall, it’s just a great place to stay in this super fun part of BCS’ East Cape.

It doesn't get better-

Spent three weeks enjoying a great on the beach experience. Whales breaching less than 300 yards from shore, great fishing, and a great host. The host was extremely helpful and responsive- helping with advice on local opportunities and keeping us up to date. The Casa opens directly to the beach, has two large bedroom suites, and a serviceable kitchen. If the Cabo party scene is not your thing, this is the perfect way to experience Mexico at a slower pace.

Quiet, Comfortable & Relaxing

We had everything one could want in this well appointed and homey Casa. It truly felt like our own place for the week. The location was perfect, close enough to Los Barriles for shopping & dining, yet far enough out to provide a peaceful escape. My only suggestion would be to recommend an SUV or 4x4 when booking a rental car as we weren’t always confident our little rental car was going to last the week on the sand roads in & out. Would highly recommend giving Casa Paloma a try, you might get lucky enough to meet our new friend Chappo who came every morning for a game of fetch🐾
