Our Welcoming Home is the perfect balance of feeling right at home yet being on vacation.
**Ask about the Wake Surf Package with house rental (see details below)**

We have an enormous sunny deck that includes a 5 man hot tub, BBQ and lots of seating/picnic table overlooking Northstar Ski Resort. We have a huge driveway with lots of parking. Our house is sunny and open, 2 bedrooms on the bottom floor, one master that has a queen and a full size daybed and big closets, the other has bunk beds with a full bed on the bottom, there is also a full bathroom and laundry room, a wood burning firestove and sunroom. This floor is open to the upper level that contains a big kitchen with all the amenities, we leave spices and cooking essentials for your use, kitchen has a bar that can seat 3 people, lots of pantry and fridge space. Our water is great out of the tap but also have filtered out of the fridge and we have instant hot water. Upstairs contains a master bedroom with a king bed, fireplace, flat screen tv, and large double sink bathroom that also has a granite steam shower. We have a second room upstairs that is technically not a bedroom because it does not have a closet. There is a twin bed in there 4-feet off the ground (with a ladder). There is also an extra halfbath upstairs. Our living room and dining area are open and sunny, the dining table seats 6. We have a 55' flat screen TV, but no cable (does connect to a few internet apps). we have over 50 dvds you can choose from, and also an endless amount of snowboard videos! We have high speed WI-FI, and if you're gamers like us, we have lots of board and card games to pick from. If that isn't enough stimulation, horseshoe pit, campfire pit (when allowed), tree house and a mini pump track around the yard! There is a golf course within walking distance from the house. The garage is stocked with wood in the winter and has one garage spot that you can use for your vehicle.

WAKE SURF PACKAGE
Starting June 1st through October 10th
Experience Wake Surfing at it's finest on the New Montara Surf Boss 2.0. This provides the best of both worlds with a surf boat hull and a pontoon deck. More space, great wave and enormous smiles!
You will have one on one coaching from Andy Finch (snowboard Olympian) with 25 years of wake experience. Choose 1 of 4 lakes to experience. When booking this boat while staying at the Grizzly Vacation home, you will save $350 a day you are on the boat.

The house was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a fantastic location near Truckee and Northstar. Andy was super helpful, keeping us updated on the weather and checking in to see if we needed anything. The hot tub was perfect after skiing. Would definitely stay here again!

The best cabin in Truckee!

Our stay was incredible. The location of the house is perfect-close to downtown Truckee and 20 minutes from Northstar ski resort. The house was perfect for our two families of 4 and plenty of room to play and great toys and games. The house is beautiful and hot tub was a huge hit with the kids. Andy was the most hospitable host. My family will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic property & hosts

This home is exceptional for families with elementary school-aged children, fun amenities for adults and children! Lots of games & toys, plus, HOT TUB! Hosts were incredible in helping us to navigate our travel home in the middle of a snowstorm, interstate closures, etc...in the end we were all very comfortable and safe despite challenging weather!

Excellent hosts; amazing home and experience!

The hosts were fantastic communicators; even though they were several time zones away, they made sure ahead of time we knew how to reach them, etc. The house and property were beautiful and highly functional. We had two families - 4 adults and 3 kids (5-6 years old) and we all loved it. Great kitchen, comfortable living space, cozy bedrooms, and wonderful extras - hot tub, steam shower, etc. Highly recommend this VRBO.

Great winter getaway

Excellent home in a winter wonderland! Quiet easily accessible neighborhood, close to downtown Truckee, Northstar, and Boreal. Excellent host anticipating all of our needs and extremely responsive in the middle a major storm front that dropped 3ft of snow. Their hospitality made our Holiday vacation comfortable and memorable. Home comfortably sleeps 8 as advertised. Lots of room for dinning and lounging!

Spectacular Home!

This place is tremendous! We had the pleasure of staying here for a family get away. We loved how convenient it is to any mountain on the north side. The view of Northstar from the hot tub is fantastic. Watching a film in the surround-sound equipped living room was wonderful. Comfortable beds. Cozy fire place. Incredible master suite. No detail has been left out. This home is amazing!

Fantastic home - easy access to everything!

How does one really review a perfect place, wonderful owners, great access to everything? With 5-stars, of course! Would give more if we could. Andy and Amber were absolutely wonderful hosts, even checking in with us when a big storm was approaching to offer assistance if needed. The highlights of the home for us included lots of living space, great dining area, steam shower (ahhhhhh), hot tub on the deck, comfy beds, and privacy. The location of the home in Truckee meant easy access to every ski resort we love (we went to a different one each day!), a short drive to Safeway and wonderful restaurants in downtown Truckee. If you're looking for a great place in the area, we wholeheartedly recommend this great home that has really delightful owner/hosts.

White Christmas

This property was perfect for our family (all adults). Andy is a great host who attends to every detail and responds immediately to any communication. We stayed over Christmas and were delighted by the ceiling height (tall!) Christmas tree, and other festive touches including outdoor Christmas lights, especially on the Grizzly. The house is very comfortable and welcoming, I particularly loved the little sunroom downstairs where I could read and watch the snow fall. And everyone should try the hot tub while itā€™s snowing! Overall, this was one of our best Christmas holidays, we all had a wonderful time. Thank you Andy and Amber.

The Best White Christmas!

This was an awesome trip! The house is phenomenal. Very comfortable for our group of 4 adults/2 kids. The hot tub was awesome after a day of snowboarding. The neighborhood is great. The owner was extremely communicative and helpful. We got snowed in and the neighborhood lost power for half a day during a large storm, but the wood burning stove kept us very warm and toasty. I will definitely be coming back!

Great house with amazing views! Andy (host) was very accommodating and even plowed the driveway for us the morning after it snowed. We skied every day so it was nice to come back to the hot tub on the deck! We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful experience for all six of us. My heart broke a little bit as we were checking out, I wanted so badly to stay there. Andy has everything set up so perfectly and it feels like home with lots of amenities. He was so generous and very easy to communicate with. You will love this vacation rental, we all give it two thumbs up! The location is just heavenly. The home is loved and you can feel it. We hope to return next year. My girlfriends and I stayed at the Finchā€™s beautiful home for my 40th birthday, and we couldnā€™t have had a better time! From even before securing the booking, they were super helpful and accommodating. The home was just as we expected it from the pictures. We even talked about it on the way home; how not only was the home beautiful, comfortable, and in a great location, it just has a really positive energy throughout! Cool art, great deck, and all the neat touches inside and out! Great sound system too! Our only regret was that we didnā€™t book more nights! We will definitely be back, and we all highly, highly recommend this property!

Fabulous Truckee Rental!

This is beautiful home with lots of space to spread out and be comfortable! The home is clean and well-maintained with modern touches. Great outdoor deck complete with a BBQ and hot tub. The home is located close to downtown Truckee and a quick trip over the hill to King's Beach. The Finch family's communication was consistent and timely always offering help and answering questions. I highly recommend renting this home!

Perfect Family Getaway

With everything going on right now, my family and I have been needing to get out of town and just find a place to relax and this house was exactly what we needed. The house is in such a great location with privacy and the views were spectacular. My 8 yr old daughter absolutely loved all the amenities (swing, sandbox, ping pong table, bunk beds) and was super sad we had to leave. The hot tub and grill were a HUGE hit and we literally only left the house to go to the store. The owner Andy was so helpful and easy to get a hold of, I was never left trying to figure out anything for longer than a minute. The Finches were very welcoming and made my family feel right at home. I only hope that all of my rentals going forward are as friendly and accommodating as Andy was. If I could give 10 stars I would! I definitely RECOMMEND this property!!!

Idyllic spot

This home is immaculate and welcoming from the second you arrive. And for us, with an infant and a toddler, having a full crib made a huge difference. The grounds outside are almost too good to be true - so much kid-friendly space for a range of ages! We almost didnā€™t need to leave the property, but of course we tackled several hikes (and have Andy our host to thank for amazing recs). We loved everything about this property! The communication with the owners was amazing. The amenities in the home were so family-friendly and perfect for what we needed. The hot tub was an amazing touch! We truly felt at home and couldnā€™t have asked for anything more.

Amazing Truckee Home

The Grizzly Home was everything we needed! Great location to all types of adventure! Amazing views, great amenities, and a generous accommodating host! We loved every minute of our vacation! Andy was so gracious and gave us a ton of fun family activities ideas! If this home is available, donā€™t wait book it!

Andy and I have been married over 17 years, we have two bundles of joy, Amiya Joy who is 7 years young and her older brother Asher Josiah who is 10. We enjoy traveling, some for pleasure, some for work, but we are gone enough to rent out our house, though Truckee will always be our home base. Andy used to compete in snowboarding halfpipe, he went to the 2006 olympics! He now does odds and ends jobs, rental management, construction, commentating at ski and snowboard events, guest coaching, motivational speaking, boat captain on Tahoe, whatever! I am a full time mom, but also do commissioned artwork, work with a whole foods company, teach some cooking classes and teach spin and yoga classes. We are both very involved in our church and community. Our favorite activities to enjoy together are mountain biking and wakesurfing. Andy also loves surfing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skateboarding. I love cross country skiing, running, horseback riding, cooking, and road biking. Our two little ones already snowboarded, paddleboarded, skateboarded, haha, they are going to be extreme like their parents! We love hosting guests and activities at our house and have the perfect home for it, and that is why we know you will love it too!

As a professional snowboarder Andy had always wanted to live and train in the Lake Tahoe area (he grew up in Fresno, CA). He lived at home in order to save enough to buy this home in Truckee 20 yrs ago. I grew up in Colorado and ended up at school in southern california, i wanted to get back to the mountains and ended up in Truckee, we both love it here and will always have it as our home.

Andy loved how open the house is, and the floor plan is an awesome unique layout, with the fire stove running from the bottom floor to the top, so heating is very efficient. There is also a big flat driveway which is pretty essential in the winter time. There are great views and the spacious lot makes it feel like you are truly in the mountains. The location is very central and ideal for Truckee being close to town, the river, Old Greenwood golf course, Ski resorts and getting more sun than any other area in town (we are in the sunbelt).
