Gentle Winds is located on St. Croix's beautiful and picturesque North Shore. The beach and pool are just a short walk across the lawn from this bright and airy 3 bedroom, 3 bath ocean-view suite, which sleeps 7 comfortably-1 King, 1 Queen, and 3 Twin beds. All bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans, floor-to-ceiling windows & security latch sliders which are especially nice to enjoy the Trade Winds and soothing sounds of the surf. This unit also includes a central a/c if needed. Take in the ocean view, the sun, or the island breeze on any one of the 2 decks, and 1 covered screened patio. Stroll along the open lawns and majestic palm trees, or explore our very own sandy beach. Gentle Winds sports a 4-hole golf chipping green, tennis courts, basketball court, ping pong table, and shuffleboard. Kids will enjoy exploring the tide pool and catching hermit crabs in the pirate play area (look under the seagrape leaves;). Not the outdoors type? Then relax, put your feet up, and dive into a book from our complimentary library in our newly renovated great room. Hungry? Check out our poolside Beach Shack for great food, fun, cocktails, or for you grill masters, get access to a complimentary gas grill. All of this and more are yours to enjoy.

Great spot in Gentle Winds!

We've been to St Croix & Gentle Winds a number of times. Vanessa's B4 rental was perfect for our group of 4 adults & 2 pre-teens. I was able to communicate ahead about unit amenities (drip coffee maker & full size washer & dryer) as well as during our stay if there were questions. The kitchen was well-stocked with small appliances (crock pot, toaster, etc) as well as utensils. Onsite we enjoyed the pool, beach, clubhouse & beach bar. Offsite we spent time in Cane Bay, the east end, Frederiksted & Christensted.We look forward to returning to the island!!

Wonderful stay in great complex

Loved our week here in St. Croix. Unit worked great for our extended family of 6, including 2 grandkids 5 and 2 years old. Nice view of beach and pool from unit. Unit comes with some beach and pool toys. Would definitely stay again!

Long time visitor to St. Croix, first time renter

Vanessa’s property was exactly as described in the listing. We are long time visitors to the Island (3 generations over 50 years) but never to Gentle Winds prior to this visit. The location is wonderful. We took daily morning walks through the property (were able to get fresh from the tree coconuts) before settling on the property’s beach or heading out for the day. The shack was convenient for takeaway meals and drinks. Vanessa’s place was perfect for our group. When on Island, we like to keep busy but when in the unit we never felt on top of each other. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their space. The bathrooms/showers were all nice and worked well (we’ve had our share of showers not working great). When we had a problem flushing the upstairs toilet, Vanessa responded immediately and had someone come over just as quickly to resolve. We didn’t even have to be there. They even brought extra towels. The washer and dryer came in handy. We brought tide pods with us and kept up with the beach towels. There was one provided for each guest so we washed as needed. We know the cost of electricity there so have always been mindful of not overusing and really no need to. There are beautiful trade winds so all you have to do is open the doors to be comfortable. If you prefer the air conditioning to sleep, it cools off quickly so only need to turn it on right before bed when you close up everything for the night. Looking forward to booking w/Vanessa again!

Great pick!

Enjoyed our stay @ Gentle Winds, B4. Felt safe, good food & drinks @ bar, nice pool. Didn't hang out @ property often as we drove around to explore. Food Town was great market nearby with all the name brands, but v pricey. Pueblo worked for us just the same for less. Make sure to get shopping & food in before 4/5 as things on STX close early. Fave beach was Rainbow, fave day was chartering private boat over to Buck Island thru Caribbean Sea Adventures. Loved restaurant over @ Cane. Shopped Christiansted on a rainy day, cool finds @ Many Hands art shop. Chocolate BBQ, lots of food for price. Sun rises early/sets early - checking out different bays/beaches before landing was doable. BEST playground ever was right off beach in Frederiksted. STX itself is easy/efficient to navigate, but the location helped, too. Just 15 mins from airport. Roads are better than St. Thomas. Condo was as pictured. Sure, the couch could be updated, etc but it truly had everything we needed. V comfortable beds, nice trade winds when you open up using doors on both ends. Big fridge, auto coffee maker w/ filters provided, beach essentials, plenty of towels/sheets in master bath closet. Upstairs is nicer than master, but my MIL treated it as her private suite which was nice (note - must be able to climb spiral stairs). Didn't fuss w/ TV after having trouble getting it to work. Could have used a broom, but otherwise well stocked. Took us awhile to get adjusted to using AC efficiently. Would def come back!

Lovely time on St. Croix at Gentle Winds!

Gentle Winds is a great location near the Salt River. It has great views from 3 balconies, a nice pool and very good food at the Sunny Shack for lunch and drinks. Enjoyed swimming and snorkeling at the beach, and the fresh water shower and foot wash on the way from the beach to the pool. Condo has everything needed for a fun vacation, and the kitchen is fully equipped including convenient full-size laundry.

Best vacation!

Property is in a great location with beautiful beach that’s perfect for sunbathing or looking for shells and sea creatures. Also has great shady apts for anyone who likes the beach but doesn’t want the sun—or has already had too much of it. :) Once we cooled the unit, we turned the air off and opened the windows, and we never used the air again. The tidal winds create a breeze that keeps everything cool and allows you to sleep while listening to the waves. The unit is super family friendly! I felt comfortable letting my kids go and play ping pong or tennis by themselves. Also Vanessa always responded quickly to any questions, and she was proactive on giving us any info we needed.

Great location- Property needs so upgrades

Gentle Winds is a delightful Carribean resort which includes not only a pool, tennis courts and beach but also a very good lunch and snack bar. The specific condo we stayed in was reasonably well furnished and well managed. Our reservations are that the furniture was rather worn, the usual TV was not working and there was only a single chair in the upstairs sitting area. We also had a problem with an upstairs toilet. On the other hand the host was very responsive and was gracious in letting us check in a few hours early. A few upgrades and some paint and this would be fully five stars.

Great, relaxing stay

We had a great week at this property. Everything in the unit was in good shape, comfortable, functional. The living space is a bit small in my opinion. Given that the unit easily sleeps 6+, the living room comfortably seats 4. Wasn’t a problem for us as we only had 4 travelers and spent almost all our time outside of the unit. The property is well kept and provided options for things to do for our teens- beach, pool, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard. Daytime lunch shack on the beach is awesome and we also enjoyed the once per week dinner offering onsite. Beach chairs and palapas were easy to come by, not crowded. We went into the water in the beach every day, although due to high surf and coral/rock offshore, we didn’t go deep. We found the location fairly central to the many things to do on the island, considering that the island is a bit spread out. Overall great property and great host.

Great property & location

Stayed with a friend and used this rental as home-base for a scuba diving vacation. The location was accessible to both F’sted and C’sted dive boats, and also close to Cane Bay. It fit our needs well, was safe and clean, and had plenty of space for our dive gear. I would not hesitate to rent this place again. The owner was very responsive to our questions, and she provided all the info needed to make the contactless check-in and check-out processes easy.

Relaxing Vacation

Our family stayed in Vanessa’s condo and we were very comfortable. The condo was very clean and kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware. All the beds were comfortable, even the trundle. Gentle Winds is lovely and quiet- no loud parties at night. Private beachfront and beautiful pool that were never crowded. The Sunny Shack served good food and had great cocktails. This is one of our favorite vacation spots! Sherri H.

A perfect chill home base

Rarely do we take a trip where everything was flawless but this one was, largely because of the fantastic Gentle Winds condo. We spent a week exploring every side of the island and agreed this side was the best. This place is perfect for those travelers who just like a low key chill place with lots of room, taking your time with coffee on the terrace in the morning, spending endless hours relaxing by the pool and beach and exploring the island. The location is just a few min drive from Cane Bay where we did most of our diving too. The condo is spacious and well equipped in the kitchen which is great for those that like to cook vs go out. Grocery stores are plentiful and stock was good. We had moderate success going out so we’re happy to have this spot. The pool is lovely and never crowded. Same at the beach and zero need to stake out a spot early in the morning, and it would be discouraged by the residents I assume. The shared beach house has tons of games for kids and adults, two grills, ping pong, shuffleboard, you name it. The cute little kids Pirates Cove was a great adventure for my kids, finding hermit crabs and pretending they could spot the whales (which folks did the week we were there, right off shore!). The AC was great at night but we kept the open air terrace going during the day and the breeze was lovely. Communications with Vanessa couldn’t have been easier and she was very accommodating on our check out day with add’l time. Gentle Winds is not the fancy techno bumping type of resort we saw on the East and West sides of the island, it’s a place to slow down and listen to the waves and meet some great folks. I also can’t say enough about the food and drinks at the Sunny Shack. Jake and Kevin took good care of my family all week, it was hard to leave those fish tacos! My only complaint is that they were sold out of t-shirts ;). We always had hot water and good pressure, soft beds and sheets, really can’t think of a thing that went wrong. We noticed there are plenty of amenities if you are bringing an infant along too which I didn’t need but appreciate as a mama who has been there. Thanks so much for a fantastic stay!

Perfect place for our family!

We had two teenagers, grandparents, parents and a baby and this was the perfect location for all to have a great time! We spent quality time together and got to enjoy the grounds with the pool and beach access. Vanessa was so accommodating and helpful before, during and after our stay. If we return, we'd definitely stay here again!

The perfect place

Gentle Winds is the perfect place to explore St. Croix. It is centrally located so it's an easy drive to Fredricksted or Christiansted. The property is lovely and well cared for with fantastic views. We felt safe and comfortable. Great place to stay.

Quiet community, beautiful amenities

The home is located in a quiet private community. The view was wonderful. The beach and pool were truly just across the lawn. It was wonderful to walk down to the beach and snorkel right from the beach. The owner, Vanessa, was very prompt when addressing any of our questions. We would definitely love to stay at this property again.

Gentle Winds is a wonderful place to stay

This was our fourth trip to St. Croix, and every time we have stayed at the Gentle Winds complex. We like being well out of town so that all we can hear is the ocean and the wind. Vanessa's property is spacious and clean, and we really enjoyed staying there. The kitchen is well appointed with all of the appliances, pans, etc. that were needed for eating in, and we appreciated the Wi-Fi, big screen TV and DVD/Blu-ray player. The amenities at Gentle Winds are excellent, with a nice beach, swimming pool and clubhouse. Plus, one of my favorite amenities is the Sunny Shack bar and grill by the pool. Nick and his crew do a fantastic job of serving up tacos, burgers and wraps. They were open noon to 5pm during our stay, and we ate there most days. The food is fantastic, and sipping on a frozen drink while sitting on a lounge chair under the shade of a palm tree is such a nice way to relax! On one of our more adventurous days, we drove to Frederiksted and went on a Discover SCUBA tour near the pier. We went out far enough to see a couple of green sea turtles chilling out on the bottom on a bed of sea grass. That was really fun!

February 2018 school vacation week

This is a very well equipped and well maintained 3BR, 3 bath condo with a full size washer and dryer (Yeh!). Despite the hurricane, Gentle Winds is in very good shape and most businesses are open on the island. As always, we enjoyed our week away from the snow and ice in New England. Our grand children love the pool and beach area at Gentle Winds, and were happy to find other children this week. We recommend this property and hope to return next year

Great condo in great location

We really enjoyed our second stay at Gentle Winds. The condo was clean and well equipped. We couldn't access the condo wifi so we used the pool wifi, which was very slow. Otherwise our stay was very relaxing.

Nice property in a great location!

The Gentle Winds propery location was perfect and even included a private beach! The condo was well equiped and meet all of our groups needs. Venessa's communications were prompt and helpful.

A tranquil experience

Our family of six had a very relaxing and comfortable stay here. We are still missing our "beach house" experience. This unit was very spacious with a wonderful view of the ocean and mountains. It has a north/south exposure, so there was a beautiful breeze to keep the unit cooled. We traveled with a large family group, fourteen of us total, for a week's stay. Other families stayed in different buildings at the complex. It was so enjoyable to explore the beach, sight-see, visit with the family and yet have our own space for downtime. We took a Virgin Kayak Tour of Bioluminescent Bay and sailed out to Buck Island on The Jolly Roger Charter. We all had a blast! The unit was spacious, clean, well stocked with dishes, cookware and towels. Our group used the BBQ grills a few nights and the Beach Shack was our go-to for lunches and drinks. The cooks do a great special each day and were very friendly! Thanks to Vanessa for sharing her piece of paradise with us! We look forward to returning in the future.

Very relaxing location on St. Croix

We loved our stay at Gentle Winds. It's a great location, centralized for exploring the island. Gentle Winds is a very nice condo complex and Vanessa's condo has a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. I loved sitting out on the balcony in the morning, drinking coffee while reading the paper. And then going to the pool or the beach in the afternoon and sipping a rum punch while reading a book. Very relaxing. I certainly recommend it.

Beautiful property and location

My husband two kids and I stayed at Vanessa's beautiful condo for a week for a family get away to completely relax and reconnect with each other -- and it was a wonderful choice. We had been to St. Croix before, but we had not been to Gentle Winds and now we have found the perfect family spot to come back to. The condo is lovely and you literally hear the ocean and gentle winds in the palms all night long. There are many easy trips to make for activities around the island from this location, but you can just as easily stay and relax all day at the property, snorkeling at the on-site beach, swimming at the pool, reading in the shade and enjoying the beach shack offerings for lunch and drinks. The kids had plenty to occupy themselves with -- golf, tennis, the basketball court and bocci and shuffleboard right there. We are very thankful for the lovely stay and kind hospitality from Vanessa who had great tips for shopping and restaurants. Don't miss a stop at La Reine's Chicken Shack for an awesome take-in dinner and the Pickled Greek was also great for lunch!
