Perfect vacation spot for nature-lovers, hikers, or golfers making their vacation memories. This beautiful mountain home has been the gathering place for family vacations for many years. The house is newly renovated with a well equipped kitchen, large screen porch, fireplace and Brazilian hard woods throughout the first floor. The master and a full bath are also on the first floor. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms (3 queen, 1 crib, and bunk room with 3 twins). Each bedroom has a private entrance to the two upstairs baths. Other features include a basement recreation room with ping pong table, media room with a 60 inch smart tv & blu ray. Plenty of room to accommodate up to 11 people comfortably. Sapphire is centrally located near some of the most beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails in NC. Also, nearby is a beautiful riverside playground open to residents and a lovely dog park by the river. If you are looking for a delightful vacation Betsyā€™s mountain hideaway awaits your arrival.

Everything was perfect. The house was clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed, in terms of appliances, etc. The hosts were responsive. We had a wonderful time!

Great mountain location!

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The large open living area was perfect for our extended family and small children to visit and play. We enjoyed the firepit ever night and loved that the quality firewood was delivered in advance of our visit. We held ping pong tournaments and watched movies in the theater room! The location was perfect for day trips to Cashiers and Brevard and we drove to nearby hiking in Gorges State Park. The park and waterfall down the street was perfect for the kids and the dogs loved the dog park! Wonderful vacation home!

We had a really nice stay. Is sweet and comfortable and the television worked great. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was nice too In the kitchen as well appointed with everything we needed. Perfect for our family

Very spacious, loved the big porch under the trees. About a 1/2 mile walk to the park/ playground, river, and waterfall. Had everything we needed.

Wonderful house, wonderful week!

We were a multi-generational family group (ages 18 months to 71) and absolutely loved our stay! The house was well set-up for our group, everyone had a comfortable bed, and the kitchen/dining room set-up was perfect. We LOVED the walk down to the playground and river access so close to the house. Our pups loved the dog park and its very easy access to the river as well! All in all, a wonderful week - this is a very comfortable house!

Excellent family vacation house!

We loved our vacation at this rental! It is set up perfectly for large families or friends to enjoy! Very clean and plenty of towels and linens! Just have to not take showers all at once. Will definitely be visiting here again!

Great mountain getaway

Host was super friendly and helpful! She provided a list of must dos and hiking trails when we asked. Property is extremely close to everything!! We had an amazing time, had no idea such beauty right across the SC border. Home was amazing, extremely private. Great layout and plenty of space for a large group. We had two families and dogs and had room to spare. Highly recommend.

Great location!

Close to all the amenities that Burlingame Country Club has to offer. My only criticism is that a half bath on the first floor or in the basement would be great. Otherwise, this property has a great "homely" feel to it.

Perfect long weekend in the mountains

The property is perfect for a family. The house is clean and there are so many bedrooms! Our boys enjoyed exploring the property and walking to the swimming hole. The adults enjoyed the screened porch! Bob, Gal and Mary were very quickly to respond to any problems we had. We would highly recommend a stay at Betsyā€™s Mountain House!

Rundown and Dirty

I am very surprised by all the good reviews of this listing. The condition of the house is very rundown both inside and out and it was absolutely filthy. Items were kept from previous guests including used soaps and if you can believe it, underwear from previous guests. The garbage disposal broke while we were there due to DIY electrical work in the kitchen. This was verified by the electrician who came to fix the problem. In 20 years, this was the second worst rental we've ever stayed in and we travel a lot. If your tolerance for yuck is high and you don't mind DIY electrical work, this is the place for you. If you want to rent a nice house in Burlingame, we suggest you contact their property association for reputable owners. They were very helpful. The club is awesome too and you can apply for a temporary membership for one week up to I think a month.

Our ā€œHurri-Cationā€ getaway

Despite having to evacuate Hilton Head island for the last hurricane, we enjoyed staying at this home in The Burlingame community of Sapphire NC. It was clean, comfortable and with 5 bedrooms, our family of 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs had enough space to relax and play. Many thanks to the gracious owners for letting us use their home!

Family mountain getaway

My husband and I treated our children, their spouses and our 4 grandchildren to a long weekend in the Cashier's area. This home was absolutely perfect for our family of 10. Each couple had a bedroom and the 4 grandchildren split between the extra 2 bedrooms. The home was welcoming, comfortable, clean, and spacious. There was space for everyone to spread out as needed. The kitchen was VERY well stocked. We could all sit together at the dining room table or spread out onto the lovely screened-in porch. We built a fire in the firepit the last night and told stories and had a Bingo tournament. It was so cozy! We were centrally located to experience MANY hikes and waterfalls. The owners were very accessible prior to our trip to answer questions and responded in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this home for a family gathering!
