Great view. Tired property.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: PPK115 is in need of attention. Cabinet doors off hinges, broken screens, worn and stained carpet. Thin ceiling. The families upstairs used their unit for their 10,000 steps and their children's playground. Some new furniture, so that's a plus. The view is why I've been returning, but next time I will shop around. I expect better for the price. Or maybe a lower price.

My Hawaii

Great view and very clean. Parking was easy and open. Nice area for walks and close to grocery, shops and restaurants. The interior needs updating, the kitchen cabinets were coming apart, screens were ripped and bathroom closet door did not stay on the tracks.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location great, check in/check out easy and seamless. Property amenities lacking ex: Only 2 wine glasses, no cork screw, the few pots and pans old and tired, appliances from 1970 or 80s, duct tape holding cabinet doors on, cable tv did not work. Overall property is showing its age. It is tired and worn. Also upstairs residents made a lot of noise.Pool was nice, view from lanai spectacular, and location in Pville convenient.

Great view, Needs a remodel!

Great location but this condo is in desperate need of a remodel! The kitchen is original, and some cabinets are held together with duct tape. Bed was newer and comfy and couch was new so that helps. Carpet instead of solid surface floor (yuck) and the bathroom and kitchen were so old and worn out.

A REMODEL AND UPDATE ARE BADLY NEEDED IN THE ENTIRE CONDO, ESPECIALLY THE KITCHEN. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE CONDO GETS TOO HOT DURING THE DAY SO MUCH SO THAT YOU HAVE TO LEAVE. THE FANS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO COOL DOWN THE UNIT. PORTABLE A/C WOULD HELP. THIS UNIT SHOULD NOT BE RENTED UNTIL IT IS UPDATED.

The view could not have been better.

We enjoyed staying at Pali Ke Kua and found the previous reviews to be pretty accurate. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the lanai looking out at Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai in the mornings and then again watching the sunset at the end of the day.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There is no better location in the world. But, as you know, the cabinets were falling off of their hinges and numerous other things that we noticed the were not up to speed from the maybe 1970s. I said to my wife, "Wow the owners of this condo must be real cheap asses!" Had an awesome visit with sweet, wonderful, helpful, marvelous, kind - Donna and the lunch tables at the grocery store. Oh did I mention how nice she was....?The price was very reasonable also despite going back to the 1970's.

Amazing views and privacy

Overall it was an amazing experience with a view of Bali Hai in the distance. This property was for location. All amenities needed were available but very used and condition of cabinetry poor with doors not closing or hanging loose on hinges and formica chipped and loose. Bed was comfortable. Would stay again.

Were some problems

There was construction and loud noise in the unit above, soapy water poured into our balcony and the water was shut off for the day with no notice given. I contacted the 800 number and there was no person to reach.

The views from my unit of Hanalei Bay and the sunsets were incredible. There was a pathway right down to a fairly secluded beach and as easy 10 min walk to another beach. The room could use updates, however the shower was large and a plus.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, 5 minutes to the market and restaurants. 10 minutes to Hanalei with shopping, kayaking, SUP and surfing. The secret beach is great for snorkeling. The unit itself could use a little refresh, but it was clean with a great bed, fluffy towels and a couple of fans to move around as it got a little warm in the afternoon. Property management was very responsive to a problem we had that did not involve the unit. The issue was resolved quickly. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Kauai.

The best location! The Bali Hai and views of cliffs and ocean was spectacular/! We Highly recommend property. However, we were a tad disappointed in furniture, small TV, older condo, so a little shabby. Kitchen had all the basics but pans were old and felt needed to be replaced. The view and sitting on our lanai sipping mai tais far outweighed minor inconveniences. The shower was great. We needed batteries for TV remote and you promptly responded. We will definitely recommend and hope to stat at Pali Ke Kua again!

The cover on the couch was filthy dirty. It is not as pictured in this review. The carpet is dirty. The cabinets are not functioning. The kitchen tools need replacing. The view is fantastic. The swimming pool fantasic. We were very surprised at the shabby shape of the interior of this place. It doesn’t matter if it’s old it just needs to be clean and repaired.

Sheets low quality with a rough feel. Pillows lumpy. Living room: Flat screen only a 32”. Normally wouldn’t be an issue but the Summer Olympics were being broadcast. Kitchen a bit small but was functional; Could use a remodel.Stacked washer and drier in bathroom a plus and quite useful. For the pricethis unit should have a much better quality bed as well as bed linens. Ceiling fans were present and functional; A must in July as there is no A/C.

Great location in need of maintenance

We loved the view but have stayed in better maintained units here before and preferred them. When the icemaker stopped working and water was in the fridge and the handle partly came off we called and someone came to fix what he could. But he couldn't get everything right. The owners responded to an earlier comment last year that they planned to take care of the needed updates, but they clearly did not. The counter top is coming apart and delaminating as an example of how aged things are. If the price were less than other units, fine. But others with granite counters were the same price but not available or dates.

Condo with a great view

Nice clean condo with a fabulous view. We had great sunsets. Kitchen was well equipped as we only made breakfast etc. Ordered pizza from the restaurant on site and it was great. The only reason we would not stay here again is the unit above with terrible stompers . We experienced two different families and the noise was awful. Next time we will be above love the area.

If only the interior matched the view

The view from this unit is great, as it is from most of the units at this complex. Although comfortable, it had the feel of the apartment you might have had in grad school where the landlord did just enough so you didn’t complain. The furniture was fairly comfortable but the recliner (primary chair) had a bit of a starboard list and kind of a creepy stain on the headrest. The kitchen was really worn - Formica cabinets are dated and barely functional (drawers stick, doors don’t stay shut and are misaligned), Formica counter is badly buckled at the seams, appliances work but are very old (oven is so old it has an analog clock and the labels on the control panel are worn off so you need to guess which knob controls which burner), refrigerator forms mysterious puddles of water on the shelves, and the tiny microwave is very underpowered. Ceiling fan in the main room has to be either off or on high speed as it has an annoying buzzing at intermediate speeds. The shower was nicely retiled but the shower controls were not upgraded, shower head is cheap, and curtain rod is rusted. The vanity looks the same as the kitchen cabinets but is in much worse condition. We have stayed at other units here and though they all have similar great views, this unit gives the feel of staying in the budget model.
