There's nothing like a Cape Cod summer near the beach!

Perfect for families, or several couples, our home has plenty of light and a wrap around deck with a marsh and ocean view. It is a mere 5 minute walk to popular Red River Beach. The upper story has an open concept kitchen, dining and living area, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The lower floor contains two more bedrooms and a bath, as well as a billiard room with TV. You can enter the house through the beach room , after enjoying the hot water in the outdoor shower. There is an outdoor gas grill on the deck and a big lawn for games! Kismet has central air conditioning and heating for your comfort, and a gas log fireplace for coziness. We'd love to share it with you!
* Kismet is a Saturday to Saturday weekly rental in July and August.

Great location, walking distance to Red River beach. House is roomy and comfortable, including beds. Plenty of kitchenware and all basic appliances. Would have liked more upfront info on stocked pantry items, and printed info on smart TV system.Caretakers very responsive to requests.

Overall great place and great location in Cape Cod walkable to a local beach. The provided beach equipment and pack and play for the baby were much appreciated. The general supplies for cooking, toiletries and cleaning were somewhat lacking though (no spices/salt/sugar/oil other than pepper, no bodywash for showering, no laundry detergent etc)

I’m glad your family had a good time at Kismet. In the kitchen we normally provide coffee, sugar, creamer, salt and pepper because that’s what everyone uses. People have different cooking needs and tastes. As far as cleaning, we provide all basic things for the kitchen and bathroom. Many people prefer to have their own shampoo and conditioner or wash. We will consider your suggestions for next season. Thanks for the information.

Large House with Great Location

House was very spacious. Rooms are very large. Central air kept things super cool and cable in common rooms was great. The house was well stocked with beach gear and kitchen cookware. We had our two kids and two additional kids (all teens) and there was more than enough room for all six of us. Topping everything off was the incredible location. You can easily walk to Red River Beach (less than 5 minutes). And the deck looks out over the marsh. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The host was great and very responsive to all my questions. We’d stay at Kismet again without hesitation. I absolutely recommend this property.

Harwich Port Family Rental

We very much enjoyed our stay. House was very clean. 10 minute walk to the beach and a great yard for lawn games. The only negative was that there was no baths...just showers, which is not ideal when you have little children.

Great getaway home!

I came here with 3 other couples for a wedding weekend and had a great time. The house is walking distance from the beach and is in a great area. The house is clean, comfortable and the owners were very responsive in getting anything we needed or answering questions. Would definitely come back on my next trip to the Cape! Highly recommend it.

Great Vacation House

This is a wonderful house for a family vacation. The house is spacious, very clean and has a well equipped kitchen. The "beach room" has everything you need for your visit to the beach, which is a few minute walk from the house. The host was super responsive when we had an issue with the internet. This is definitely one of the best summer rental available and I hope to be able to stay again in the future.

Perfect for Families

2 families (4 adults, 3 kids - 1, 2, 4 years old) stayed here for 5 days and it was perfect for what we were looking for. Enough bedrooms and space inside and a large deck for relaxing outside. The yard was big enough for the kids to play and we were less than a 10 minute walk to a nice beach. We were able to drive/Uber to numerous nearby restaurants and bars. No complaints at all.

Steps away from the beach

Beautiful spacious clean house with a lovely yard two blocks from the beach. Our large group spanning three generations gathered on the large decks to socialize and had nightly pool tournaments in the billiard room. After trying many different houses for our family yearly get away on cape cod, we have finally found the house everyone wants to go back to!!!

Great house for family

The house had plenty of space and a nice layout. Our son and his family had a nice area downstairs with two bedrooms, a bath, the game room and the laundry. Nice deck area with grill and outdoor seating . Upstairs perfect with two bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and living room. The beach equipment was extremely helpful...beach towels, wagon, umbrellas, toys, boogie boards. Lovely beach a short walk. We also had the best weather you could ever want!

Excellent place to stay

We had a very nice 3 night stay. The layout worked well for our group of 3 couples and a child. The living area was roomy and comfortable, as was the raised deck with a nice view of what looked like marsh land across the street. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and eating ware. We appreciated the ground coffee and filters. A bonus was the pool table. The beach was a less than 10 minute walk, and there were several restaurants we enjoyed that were less than a 10 minute drive from the house. The host was very responsive when we had questions ahead of our stay. Unlike in many homes, there weren’t TVs in the bedrooms, but that was fine by us.

Family of all ages

We had a great stay. It was clean and there is lots of space for everyone to be comfortable. My teenagers really enjoyed using the pool table and having their own area to do their thing. The walk to the beach is short, probably about 5 minutes. I really appreciated the use of the beach room. It has towels, toys, noodles, a wagon (perfect to transport my toddler) and more. The owner is very responsive to questions and the property manager was really nice. We had family with us of all ages (4 months to 73 years young) and we all agreed we would stay again.

Family vacation rental in Harwich

We rented this property for ourselves (mom & dad) & our 3 adult children & their spouses to stay at for a family wedding in Harwich & then afterwards to spend a week’s vacation together. This is a beautiful and roomy house in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. It is walking distance to the beach and has a wonderful porch in front of it that overlooks a marsh. We felt it was centrally situated for our cape vacation excursions to Truro, Provincetown and Hyannis & Nantucket. We felt the only flaw was that the wall to wall rug in the living room and on the stairs needed to be cleaned. The rest of the house and the bedding and towels were clean and well maintained. The kitchen had every utensil that we needed to cook family meals as well as plenty of space to eat in the kitchen. We were very happy staying here and would rent this house again.

My Mother in Law Loved the Place

My mother in law has spent summer weeks on the Cape for decades. This is property is now top on her list. Extremely well appointed, very spacious, and exceptionally well maintained. The kitchen is especially well designed for large group meals. Good counter space with the BBQ just outside on the deck. Having two levels to hang out is awesome for groups that want to watch different shows (2 TVs) or play pool while watching. All beds are very comfortable and AC and evaporator are a plus for those of you who do not sleep well on humid summer nights. Proximity to beach is great, and the combination of a large mud room and proximity to the Rail Trail make this place a bikers heaven. If you calculate the cost on a per person basis, this house is exceptional value.

Even better than expected

The photo's do not do this place justice, the kitchen/dining/living area is much larger in "real life", our family of ten (ranging from 12 to 80+) had plenty of space to spread out and make ourselves at home, especially when combined with the games room on the lower level. Exceptionally clean (spotless) and well equipped. Kitchen had everything that we needed - we cooked at home every night. A million towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and a great wee pull-along to take everything to the beach. We have rented plenty of places on the Cape, some a lot fancier (and a lot more $$$), but I think that this has been the fave so far. A very short walk to the never-busy Red River Beach, we went swimming every day, the family could come and go as they pleased which made for a very relaxed week. The large deck, with plenty of seating, was also a popular hang-out spot. The property manager, Phil, was very responsive to any questions and made us feel very much at home. We would 100% rent this house again.

The Week Went by Too Quickly!

Our family , consisting of the grandparents, the daughters with their husbands and 2 year old sons, returned to Kismet for a second year in a row the week of 7/29/2023 – 8/5/2023, and it was exactly as we had remembered it. Once again, we found the house to be spotless and containing everything that we had discussed ahead of time. The layout is perfect as each set of parents has their own room and bathroom and there is an adorable “kids room” already stocked with toys. Speaking of stocked, the kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything we needed to grill a few nights and have a lobster bake which has become our traditional last night meal. The best part about this home is its location, a short five minute walk down a street which leads to a beautiful, family friendly , extremely well kept beach. The house had more than enough beach chairs and towels for everyone and also came with a cart to wheel them down the street, although , truth be told, we put the kids in the cart and carried the chairs. The outdoor shower was perfect for cleaning up after a day in the sand and a ground level room with an easily accessible sliding door made storing everything until the next day a snap. We loved it so much we are already booked for next summer. If you are looking for a great house for vacation on the Cape, we highly recommend Kismet.

Celebrating 35-65

My family finally got to have a long awaited vacation celebrating my eldest turning 35 and my husband turning 65. The bonus of waiting due to covid is we got to add two new grandsons-ages 9 months and 10 months. What a perfect house for the three families! Let me start by saying that Christine is very responsive with emails that began when we first booked the place. Having two babies I had a lot of questions and she always got back to me practically immediately. The check-in was flawless and the house manager Phil was also immediately responsive for any questions that needed attention. The house is very large and was spotless. All of the bedrooms are roomy and the living room could easily accommodate two babies with all of their toys and the rest of the family working on a 1000 piece puzzle (which we finished on the last night-phew). The kitchen was large, fairly well equipped and had a huge table that we comfortably sat around for meals unless we were eating outside on the wrap around deck. There is also a large playroom downstairs with a full size pool table and two bedrooms. Each family had their own bathroom which we prefer and there is an added outside shower. The "beach room" as we called it had all of the equipment needed for the beach including a wagon to carry chairs and towels and all other items. There are beach toys, noodles, a travel stroller and various floats. The walk is exactly as described , no more than 8 minutes. The beach is beautiful and never seemed crowded (note though we were there end of June, not really in full season). All in all a great vacation-we are choosing our week for next summer now.

Big house close to the beach

Had an amazing time! House was very spacious, ideal for 6 adults. We loved sitting out on the deck and how close the beach was, only about a 5 min walk. The beach was never crowded, even in August. Also appreciated all the beach chairs and gear available.

Our family has owned the adjacent property since my grandfather built it in 1955. Our grandsons are the fifth generation to spend the summer there. Our family has built many memories, and yours can too!

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

When we purchased 6 South Chatham Road in 2015, our son named it "Kismet" or Fate, since we had admired it for many years. Our growing family required more room, and we were happy to add the additional bedrooms to accommodate more guests. We are not able to be there all the time, so have decided to rent it so others can enjoy the beauty of the area and comfort of a home away from home.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The house is very spacious, with great views of marsh and ocean. It is a five minute walk to family- friendly Red River Beach. There is a spacious lawn for playing games and a wrap around deck, complete with dining set and gas grill. The house is very comfortable and bright. The numerous sliding doors and windows let in the ocean breezes. The outdoor shower comes in handy after a long day at the beach and you can relax on the deck sipping a cold drink as the sun sets. After dinner, the waves will lull you to sleep in your cool and comfy large bedroom, ready for a new adventure tomorrow. You may never want to leave!!
