SoundFront Water Lovers Paradise, front yard kiting, Ocean beach access

Beautiful Hatteras Island home. The home is built for guests of all ages, the sound front home has water views from all rooms & sleeps 8 people comfortably. This 3 bedroom home with an open living space has many "sweet spots" to read books, play games & water access for kiting, kayaking… to enjoy a relaxing fun holiday.
Equipped with: a basketball hoop, great bike riding & local path, sound front beach, pier to sound, jacuzzi on the main sound front deck, ping pong & modern amenities.
Rents Sunday to Sunday. If you are renting 2 weeks or more, the cleaning fee and hot tub fee schedule changes. It is $250 per week after the second week for cleaning and $50 a week for hot tub fees.
NOTE: March 2020 to Present - ALL LINENS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE RESIDENCE. Our cleaning service requires this. There are linen rental companies throughout the OBX (as the removal of linens has become common place & was being done prior to COVID for most properties).

Dawn the owner is absolutely wonderful. We were there when OBX was having rain every day. Our dogs were with us and we were over the bridge and we were stuck due to an accident and couldn’t get back for hours. She had a friend go in and feed our dogs and let them out. Amazing lady. Praying for their property with these latest storms. Highly recommend this beautiful place if just for the sunsets alone!!! Can’t wait to get back during better weather.

Gorgeous property with fully accessible amenities...everything you would need for an amazing stay! The immediate dock access to the sound provided beautiful sunsets each evening and the short walk to the beach was perfect! Dawn was extremely responsive and helpful. Check-in and out was super easy. Our families would 100% recommend and stay again. Thank you, Dawn!

"The Sweet Spot" lives up to it's name. The location is quiet and serene with fantastic sunsets every day. It is a short drive to Avon, but there are also great food and store spots within walking distance. The ocean beach access is very walkable, but is also super easy if one prefers to park and drive. We also loved the convenient access to the walking and bike trail, which takes you to local spots. It has a fantastic yard space that was perfect for our dogs. The pictures you see of the home portray it well, however it is even more beautiful in person. The owner is conscientious, helpful, well organized, and incredibly kind. We can't wait to return.

Very peaceful

We spent a lot of time sitting in the deck or the pier just staring at the water. We watched the kite surfers, birds diving for fish, fish jumping outing the water, and crabs scurrying on the sound floor. The sunsets were amazing, and we would often set up about an hour before sunset just to watch the sky change until the sun touched the water. I wasn’t sure how being on the sound would compare to being on the ocean side. We visited the ocean twice to find shells but actually preferred the gentleness of the sound over the strong waves and undertow of the ocean side. The house accommodated our family very well. There was space for us to all be together when we wanted to be, and for us to retreat to a quiet space when we wanted to rest. The kitchen was well stocked with pretty much any piece of cookware or appliance I could have wanted- plus empty cabinet space for us to store our own groceries. My kids logged many hours on the ping pong table, and loved star gazing from the upper balcony and the pier at night. The first night they were treated to a meteor shower! The amount of stairs you have to climb/descend was more challenging that we were prepared for and did make it hard to bring all of our stuff into the house our the our dogs outside for potty breaks. The stairs won’t prevent me from coming back with my family, but it isn’t a place where my parents could join us. The host, Dawn, was wonderful. She reached out and checked on how our stay was going several times.

An absolute gem

Our family loved this house and the location. The house is so well stocked with plenty of kitchen tools and games and movies for the kids. It is a short walk to the beach but the sound was so shallow it was perfect for swimming and kayaking.

Sweet spot

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property! Beautiful home, well appointed and a great location at the end of a cul-de-sac. Host was extremely responsive and attentive. We definitely plan on returning.

Sweetspot in Salvo

We spent a relaxing week in Salvo. The house was perfect with a beautiful view of the bay from every room. We spent quality time on the deck - coffee in the morning, beautiful sunsets. We used the house kayaks to explore the bay and walked over to the beach each day. Dawn was very helpful with recommendations and answered questions quickly - great hosts. Thanks for a great week.

Sunset views, sound access, comfortable and beautiful home.

Dawn, thank you for being a wonderful host! You are friendly, flexible and helped make our much needed break all the better. :) Despite having some extremely hot weather and high winds for our first few days, there was plenty to do at the house. We enjoyed the breathtaking views of sunsets and storms coming through, ping pong, basketball, board games and just relaxing. Watching the kite surfers from the porch made for some great viewing as well. Our only regret was not getting our feet into the sound sooner. :) We loved the local shopping and restaurants in the OBX. The ocean and ORV accesses are very close to the house. We’d love to come back and highly recommend it to others!

Love the location

This is a well appointed home in a great location. I wasn’t sure how I would like staying on the sound vs the ocean side, but turns out it was fabulous! So peaceful and relaxing. We spent so much time sitting on the deck watching the kite surfers - it was mesmerizing. Our 4 yr old grandson loved playing on the sound side. They walked to the public area 10 minutes away and he had so much fun playing with other kids. We all would walk 10 minutes to the ocean to enjoy the sound and view for the morning, but the house was our favorite place to hang during the heat of the day. The kitchen is well stocked and we did end up cooking most of our meals at home. Great seafood shop a 3 minute drive away and large grocery store 10 minute drive. Made it all very easy. We plan to return to OBX at a cooler time of year and The Sweet Spot will be our pick!

Lovely Family Get Away

We had a lovely time at the Sweet Spot. We enjoyed the slightly out of the way location, the easy access to the sound and the short walk to the beach. The house was clean and well appointed. Highly recommend it!

Perfection

We absolutely loved staying in the Sweet Spot and will definitely be back. The house is more beautiful than the pictures. The water views are incredibly relaxing. The kitchen has everything one might need. The beds are comfortable and there is so much outdoor space. We loved that the beach was just a short walk away, and that we could also enjoy the sound side. Dawn was super helpful and responsive. 10 out of 10!!!

Perfect get-away 3rd year in a row

We are so impressed with this property that it was our 3rd year staying here. It is just right for me and my husband and dog. Our favorite part was being able to step outside to the Sound and float around. We brought an inflatable SUP but there are kayaks available. While it’s not too big for us (like a lot of rentals on OBX), it still has ample space for multiple guests or families. The house is well laid out and well-equipped with everything you may need. The new hot tub is very nice. And the sunsets from the back decks are absolutely gorgeous.

Beautiful family getaway!

We enjoyed a truly fantastic week at Dawn’s family friendly property “The Sweet Spot.” My only gripe is that we didn’t have more time to stay! The location is spectacular with bay access (and a shallow sandy bottom that you can swim in with littles) and super close to walk/drive to national seashore beaches with no competition for parking. We enjoyed daily kayak rides with the kids or just sitting on the back porch overlooking the beautiful view. The house was very clean and well appointed in the kitchen. We hope to visit again very soon.

Sweet Spot

Great property with a great location. The house has an open layout that is perfect for a family vacation. The kitchen is well stocked, and the house is loaded with a number of little extras. The location by the sound with a private dock provided easy access to the sound for SUP and kayaking (kayaks provided) and great sunset views. Though not right next to the beach it was very easy to access via car, bike or walk. We have stayed here before and have loved it. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a very nice place for a family OBX vacation.

Best of everything

We spent a week at week at Sweet Spot in July. What a wonderful experience! The house was well kept, had everything we could need and then some. The host was extremely responsive to our little questions and was wonderful! The location is wonderful. Right on the sound with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets! The access to the beach was easy. We took our golf cart which was a huge help with access to the beach for the to and from but not necessary. It is a bit of a long walk but bike ride or car is easy and golf cart is great! The hot tub was a great feature that was utilized each evening. The house itself was so comfortable and welcoming! We are certainly looking forward to booking again next year!

Family trip

Our family’s stay at The Sweet Spot was just what we needed. Everything we needed was already thought of before hand. Great attention to detail with decorating and supplies. We would definitely stay here again! Plus, you get a free leg workout on all the stairs! And you can’t beat those sunsets.

Awesome home

This is our personal home and retreat. The house was built to lend itself to our hobbies and lifestyle. We are family oriented, child & adult friendly and love the water. There are beautiful water views from every room in the house.
We are an adventurous family and found this property on one of our Kite Boarding/family trips to the OBX. My husband literally found the lot from the water for its sandy beach launch. The house is built with a lawn area at the beginning of our pier for easy set up and take down of all water and wind gear. This area is set up with a hose and a hot/cold water outdoor shower. The front yard is well suited for children to play, with a half basketball court, long driveway with a private culde-sac, sand box and beautiful old oak trees for shaded play areas. There are beautiful swings located at the sound side ground level, hot tub and eating area on the sound side main deck, large teak bench on the driveway side (for the person chilling out while watching the children) and large teak barstools on the sound side upper deck (located right outside of the "sunset bar" ping pong room).
The main Sound side hot tub is a must at sunset no matter what time of year you are there!

With wall to wall wood floors, water views, an open floor layout, gorgeous teak island and granite counter top kitchen, this house feels peaceful from the moment you walk in. There are 3 bedrooms; the master with a California king, the guest bedroom with a queen and the "bunk" room with 2 pyramid bunk beds (full size bottom & twin tops). The house is located on a private Culde-sac with only one other home, but is part of the South Beach development (across hwy 12) with full private beach access. It is a 5 minute walk but there are also parking spots and a boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. Ride your bike over in the morning to watch the sunrise and check on the surf. The Park service offers permits for 4WD beach access and bonfires. A quarter mile from the home is the Salvo day use area with 2 beaches and a great place for children to ride bikes or runners to complete an additional loop.
For water sports our sandy bottom launch allows for great family fun and easy access to premier flat shallow water.
