Relaxing

We truly enjoyed our visit. After a very busy 4 days in Tamarindo. The house in the sky was a nice way to end our stay in CR.The home was clean and contained everything needed. Air-conditioned and comfortable bedding. Pool area very nice, identified many birds and butterflies. Local contact was there to help with check in. The owner was excellent making the reservation and answering our questions. Highly recommend this property!

Great Christmas get away.

I have been staying at Playa Hermosa since 1996, I have been at many villas. This villa rates in the top 10. The hosts were very gracious. The home was as advertised. I highly recommend this location, you will need your own transportation in this area.

Good house and excellent value for money

Nice house with a great outdoors/pool area. The house is not in a 100% state but definitely good with fine beds. It is close to the very nice Playa Hermosa beach.

Truly a mountain paradise

I cannot say enough good things about the property. The house was exactly as promised and the pool was AMAZING. It was where we spent the majority of our stay at the house. The kitchen was perfect for five women who like to cook, with a gas stove and a large refrigerator and plenty of pots and pans. There is also a grill by the pool that we used several times. The house is located in a gated community at the top of a hill between two beaches, Playa Hermosa and Playa del Coco. The owner gave us plenty of great recommendations for both areas plus suggestions for day trips. Thank you to Jaime (the owner) and Fernando (the caretaker) for excellent communication the entire time.

Great Costa Rica VRBO! Safe, Gated Community between COCO and Playa Hermosa

Beautiful infinity pool, SAFE gated community, breathtaking sunset views! The property management company was wonderful to work with. I left my wedding ring at the property and they went to secure it so we could pick up after our Arenal Volcano voyage. I would DEFINITELY book this one again!

Wonderful Villa!

What an amazing house. Property was very clean and well maintained. Amazing kitchen and even more amazing pool. We were in the pool all day long. No chemicals in the water. Absolutely loved our stay here. Highly recommend and you can’t beat the views. Just make sure you don’t plan your visit during dry season. Our views were not the best, but that’s only because we thought CR was green all year long.

Terrific property!

What a terrific house! It was all that was advertised and more. The owner was responsive in answering our many questions prior to booking and he even helped with booking our car rental. The owner had a detailed manual for the house and surrounding areas including restaurants, points of interest, and things to do. The house had everything we needed including kitchen supplies, grill, towels, etc. We made great use of the pool and prepared several meals in the kitchen. We would highly recommend this property to anyone and hope to return at some point!

Beautiful house with lovely view and infinity pool

We had a great stay here for 4 nights with my family of 5. We are 2 adults and 3 kids aged 4-8yo. The pool is so beautiful and bigger in real life than in the photos online. The view is so lovely. It would be nice if the pool was heated but it was still ok, the kids were cold after about an hour which didn’t happen at any of the 4 other places we stayed in Costa Rica. The house was very spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Only downsides were the linens on all the beds smelled quite old and musty like old sweat. Many of the towels did as well after they got wet. And the house had a lot of bugs and dirt for the price compared to the other places we stayed while visiting Costa Rica.

Beautiful place

This place was a very nice place. When we arrived we had some issues with the gate remote...that we weren't in possession of. We had to contact owner through email. After some back and forth we finally got possession of the remote the next day from property manager. Luckily, they have a guard out there until 730-8 p.m. Not great communication with PM. Owner I don't think lives in C.R. We had to clean the pool as it was pretty dirty. We did end up seeing the pool guy a few times while we were there. BTW, the pool was a highlight. It is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Great perk! The house had everything we needed in it. We never used the T.V. Also, it looks like they recently did some painting as the tape was still left on outdoors. It has already adhered to the house from the heat. Also, they left a lot of wall hangings off on the outside. Overall, we were very pleased with the VRBO. Costa Rica is beautiful, and we did get to see and do a lot of things. I am telling you; the pool and the view of sunrise and sunset were AMAZING! You will have to watch out for scorpions. A pretty big one greeted us the first night in the living room. We killed a few small ones later. Beware, if you do make it out to Costa Rica, remember to get a 4x4. Some of our travels had us climbing to the top of mountains and VERY steep roads. We also had to cross some rivers on the main road which during dry season were not too bad. Overall, a great experience.

Just ok

The pool and outdoor space is great. The house was very clean. Even the dishes and pots/pans were very clean. A few things about the location. This house sits above the road between Hermosa and coco and that’s what you see below from the pool. This creates quite a bit of traffic noise from cars, trucks, scooters and motorcycles. There’s some construction or something further up the development so there was a steady stream of dump trucks during the day. I’m sure this is a temporary situation and out of their control. Someone living nearby has a few dogs that bark intermittently all day long. Or howl. Yes they’re dogs and not howler monkeys. These all make for a less than relaxing outdoor space. The view from the back pool deck isn’t as good as from the deck off the main bedroom. The main bedroom deck has a view of hermosa but not really the sunset. The pool deck can just see coco and the sunset. We didn’t use the main bedroom, it was very warm during our stay and the split unit in the downstairs bedroom with two beds seemed to keep that room cooler and the mattresses seemed to be more comfortable. The primary bedroom mattress is super firm. We didn’t use the back bedroom. There’s a note on the toilet tank to keep a rubber cover on the shower drain to keep the septic smell out. We kept the cover on and the bathroom and bedroom door closed but could still detect a septic like smell creeping down the hallway. Owner very responsive. Property management less so.

Great pool, easy access, but not for the handicapped.

Great introduction to the house from Melina. There were a few idiosyncrasies which our friend's wife tackled, such as switching on the ice cube maker inside the freezer and unclogging the shower head in one of the downstairs bedrooms! Unfortunately, our friend's health, unbeknown to us, had deteriorated to the point where he cannot handle the stairs without a cane and help so the outdoor stairs to the house (no railing) were nearly impossible for him. In addition, there is a step up from the entry and two steps down from the lower bedrooms to the living room and outdoors. Within our first fifteen minutes he had fallen! My husband and I (age 72+) were undaunted by the 21 stairs to the master bedroom even though I have severe osteo-arthritis in my knee. The house lacks an indoor dining room which we missed as it rained a lot the first half of our vacation. But, of course, it was warm so life on the terrace was still quite pleasant. It would be more comfortable if there were additional cushions on the backs of the wrought iron dining chairs. We went out to eat nearly every night as there were enough good restaurants to keep us busy. And Playa Hermosa is such a short drive, it's a shame that we didn't go but once. P. S. The pool is gorgeous, among the nicest we've had, but it had not warmed up enough yet for adult comfort (after the winter rains).

Perfect location, worth every penny!

Gated community, with a 24 hr. security guard at the entry gate. The master suite encompasses the entire 2nd floor and there are 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms on the first floor. The pool is actually bigger than the pictures make it seem. EXCELLENT property, we can not recommend this home enough!

Wonderful home…

The property is as wonderful as advertised. Plenty of space with huge upstairs master bedroom. The private pool with a beautiful view was a delight. Owners were very responsive and helped me to rent a car and recommended a lab for a Covid test. I would love to return again one day! Many thanks!

It is a quiet place with a beautiful view for sunsets

We would have liked to have a more spacious third bedroom with a bigger bed. We were 8 adults. The outdoor swimming pool and terrace is fantastic and very large.
