Breathtaking Views - Private Home - Beautifully Landscaped - Walk to the Beach

Located on the "gold coast of Costa Rica" directly above two of the most beautiful
beaches in the country. This is a private home, sitting 200 feet above the beach on two acres with beautiful landscaping filled with wildlife, trees, flowers and spectacular views.

Hear the roar of the surf, listen to the monkeys in the mangrove below or sing along with the birds in the trees... this the best of all worlds. Whether you choose to take a quick walk to the two beaches (a few minutes on foot, literally 300 paces from the house!) or drive to one of the many beaches located down the road (a few minutes by car), this property is a perfect to retreat and relax.

Playa Prieta sits directly below our house and has large shaded areas on the beach with bigger, crashing waves. Playa Penca can easily be accessed from a footpath on the road to Prieta, and is known for its soft waves, boogie boarding and great family gathering place. Or you can relax in our private pool with a cabana for shade during the day.

The house has 3000 square feet of well-appointed living space. Perfect for entertaining the family or for some well-deserved quiet time, this property guarantees a wonderful relaxing vacation. All bedrooms and living room feature banks of floor-to-ceiling windows, furniture, and an interior designed for comfort and relaxation.

The sunsets are beyond description - especially from the terrace. Not only does that expansive terrace offers a lovely place to read, chat, or dine - it also the perfect place to gather for a spectacular panoramic sunset.

Our gardener/caretaker lives on site because the property requires constant tending and trimming; and a housekeeper appears 6 days a week to do your laundry and straighten up the house. The property is fenced and gated, with similar properties alongside it - very quiet and secure.

Close to market for those who prefer to cook or close many restaurants if you prefer to dine out.

The host and caretakers were awesome! We loved Anna Marie. They answered all of our questions and had great recommendations. The views were as spectacular as the photographs. Late night swims in the private pool were a plus. The dogs were friendly.

The million dollar view! The evening sunsets were incredibly beautiful. The manager was very responsive and the service from the staff was definitely a plus.

This home was a wonderful place for our week stay in Potrero. The house is through a locked gate and up a steep driveway. The house was clean and had almost everything we needed (except seasonings). The housekeeper came in every day to clean, and she made beds and did laundry. The bedding was changed out halfway through our stay. The bedrooms were comfortable with air conditioning. The rest of the house did get a little stuffy with the 95 degree temperatures since there is no air conditioning in the other rooms. Caretaker Ernesto cleaned the grounds and pool everyday. The pool was warm and so nice to be able to enjoy in the hot weather. Property manager Jorge was very helpful providing directions and instructions for the property and was always quick to reply to any questions we had. Owner Mindy was also very quick to respond to questions as well as providing information on places to go and things to do. Be aware that if the outside house doors are shut you will need to use the key to open them from the outside.If you are looking for a nice place for a massage in the area, I would highly recommend Veronica's Massage in Playa Potrero. We ate at Las Brisas a couple of times. It was a comfortable place on the beach. The Beach House Bar and Restaurant was also a favorite. I would also recommend visiting Diamante animal sanctuary. It was very clean and well kept with a lot of animals that seemed to be taken care of very well.We would definitely stay at this house again!

Beautiful view

Short walk to 3 beautiful beaches and the town of Potrero where we enjoyed several breakfasts at the local Soda and a variety of meals at the many restaurants offered.

Bettina, I'm disappointed to see your rating. The ice maker wasn't broken, it was switched to "off", the issue with the pool chairs and issue with cleaning of one of the showers, could have been resolved quickly by our property manager within a few hours. As you can see from our dozens of reviews, we take great pride in presenting our guests with the best experience ever - with the hope that our guests will communicate with the property manager or directly with us if something isn't working right, instead of after they leave. I'm at least glad that you all enjoyed your visit to our area of Costa Rica.

Wonderful week

We had a great week at this house overlooking the ocean. A couple of minor issues that were addressed very quickly by the property manager (eg new hot water heater installed). The location is fantastic and the view is great. The onsite caretakers were wonderful, cleaning the pool, making beds, doing laundry and dishes. We really enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful and beautiful

This home is relaxing, clea,n beautiful and functions great for a vacation in Costa Rica. Our family with three kids had plenty of room and really enjoyed the daily housekeeping and on-site property managers.

Absolutely dreamy. Costa Rican perfection. Second time here. Ernesto and Ana (caretaker and house cleaner) are wonderful, helpful and lovely. Mindy (host) is super responsive and goes above and beyond. This place is perfection. Right mix of everything you need to feel pampered, while feeling laid back and casual. You feel like you’re in luxury, without feeling nervous the kids are going to break something. The walk to the beaches is dreamy. And the beaches themselves are perfection. It’s starting to feel like our home away from home.

GREAT Spot — Exceeded Hopes & WAY Better Than Pricier Hotels

The descriptions were spot-on; wonderful well-appointed house…short walk to two beaches (both with requisite howler monkey’s, iguanas, good swimming and NO crowds). The house benefited be great daily cleaning, friendly grounds help (who assisted us in finding driver when needed) and dogs who kept us company.

Wonderful house on the beach in Costa Rica

This house was the highlight of the trip. I would totally recommend it for a small group. Clean, big rooms, beautiful bedrooms high on a hill with ocean view and breezes in the cute little town of Potrero Guanacaste.

Location !!! Local !!!

We had special requests that the host graciously assisted with. It was exactly the together time we needed. The driveway was steep but we could have gotten a car. A waitress at Las Brasis referred us to a driver and he took us wherever for 10 to 20 dollars. Just loved the local spots. Not asPrivate as weHad hoped but I think it was because of the dry season thinned out the vegetation. The property could use some updating. LOVED. Location and locals. Would love to go back. Could use some air in the living spaces.

While on our first vacation in Costa Rica in 2003, we came across this incredible house which just spoke to us on some level. The spectacular views, the privacy, the way it made us feel was just magic. To truly understand this, you'd need to know that we definitely are not the most spontaneous people in the world - and we were certainly not in the market for a house. Yet, by the time we returned home four weeks later, we were proud owners of this property.

A decision we have never regretted for a minute. This is now our home - and yours when you visit - and by the time we get to the top of the driveway, our whole demeanor has shifted to peacefulness. By the time we get to the terrace and sink into a wicker chair, our shoulders have dropped about 4 inches (an exaggeration, but suddenly everything is alright). Many of our guests return year after year and have developed into wonderful friendships and we've become acquainted with many lovely families.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our home is curated to be warm and welcoming - not meant to be straight out of a magazine in how it looks and feels. We want you to feel comfortable, like you are visiting an old friend - not worrying about sitting on the couch if your bathing suit is still not completely dry ... or wondering if its okay to snag an extra towel if yours is still damp. Enjoy. Anna will take care of you and the house in an unobtrusive way - while Ernesto makes sure the property looks as beautiful as possible.

And if you like dogs, welcome them and encourage them - and you will find them on the terrace looking for your company. If you don't care for animals, no worries, just ignore them and they will head back down to the caretaker's casita.

To ensure your time here is as safe as possible, the home is cleaned before your arrival using disinfectants along with daily cleaning as well.
