Buddha Beach Villa – Oceanfront Retreat in the Heart of Sayulita

Buddha Beach Villa is a luxurious, spacious oceanfront home located directly on the beach in the heart of Sayulita, Mexico. Beautifully designed with global influences and modern comforts, the villa is ideal for family gatherings, reunions, retreats, and intimate celebrations. A full bar and large gourmet kitchen make it perfect for hosting memorable meals and events, all of which can be coordinated by our team.

The villa spans three ocean-view levels and features:

Layout & Living Spaces

First Level:
Enter through beautifully carved Thai doors into a serene living space with comfortable seating. This level includes Bedrooms 1 and 2, each with king beds, ensuite bathrooms, and private terraces overlooking the ocean and river. The upper mid-level features a game room and Bedroom 3, one of the largest bedrooms, with a king bed and a bathroom with shower and bathtub.

Second Level:
This level includes a second living area with a large TV, a fully stocked bar and kitchen, and a stunning dining terrace overlooking the beach and ocean—perfect for breakfast while watching the surf. Bedroom 4 is also on this level and includes a king bed, lounge area, and ensuite bathroom with double sinks and a large shower.

Sky Terrace

Above the dining terrace is the Sky Terrace, offering panoramic ocean views. It’s ideal for sunset cocktails, yoga, sunbathing, or relaxing in privacy.

Guest Services

You will be greeted by either myself or my daughter, Summer. Our housekeeper, Sandra, is available daily and can prepare breakfast upon request.

Breakfast: $15 per person (children under 6 half price)

Mexican or American-style options available

Private chef services for lunch or dinner can be arranged

Located directly on the beach, you are steps from surf rentals, shops, restaurants, and the town center. Everything is walkable, or you may rent a golf cart or car to explore nearby beaches and villages. Concierge services are included to help plan your stay.

Perfect spot for enjoying Sayulita

Great location. Walk to several beaches. Very close to center plaza and many restaurants. Plenty of space for our family of 6 adults and 3 kids. Loved the rooftop ! The kids enjoyed watching all the birds and iguanas. Sandra took great care of us.

Absolutely wonderful!

Our group of friends enjoyed everything about the Villa! It is beautiful, well-appointed, and truly magical. It is in the center of town which suited out group well. Steps from the main beach, a short walk to the mellower Playa de Los Muertos, and all the delicious food and fantastic shopping Sayulita has to offer. The marvelous Sandra took care of the home and cooked us some wonderful meals. We love you, Sandra! We will definitely be back.

A family wedding brought us to Sayulita.. The Buddha Villa was so much more than we expected! Spacious, comfortable & authentic! Ideal downtown location!! Sandra prepared the most perfect breakfast & dinners! I admit, being downtown meant extra noise , however we managed the nighttime karaoke with a white noise app on my iPhone. It absolutely was not a deal breaker!! Recommend 💯‼️

Great place for a young crowd?

Cute Villa in the heart of the busiest section of town. Although the rooms were cute and well done, it was very hot in all rooms except the master bedroom we stayed in. It was also VERY loud all through the night, every night. The refrigerator was not clean and the freezer was terrible. We had no water one day but it was fixed very quickly. Loved the giant iguanas off the deck though.

Its above a nightclub, loud music- not a relaxing environment

If you like the boom of loud music all night every night so you cannot sleep, this is the home for you. The housekeeper Sandra was amazing and her food delicious, she made our stay tolerable, but I was surprised that the owner did not let us know that Easter week there would be loud music all night from a band outside, the night club directly below and the nightclub on the beach which sometimes started at 6 am when the nightclub below finally shut down. We were really hoping for a place where we could gather as a family and relax and its impossible at night to hang out without yelling over the music.

Nothing short of magical!!

This rental was the PERFECT spot for our group! 8 of us came down to Sayulita to celebrate my birthday and these accommodations exceeded our expectations! It does not get more centrally located than this. Perfectly situated on the main beach and a short walk to everything. This made it easy to pop home to use the restroom, change or grab a fresh drink. Gorgeous views and decor. Susan the host made it a very smooth process. Sandra the on-site staff was lovely and always willing to help. Kept the place tidy and cooked a delicious authentic Mexican meal! Wi-Fi worked great for those needing to stay connected. Just be aware, this is a tropical location so you may find some ants and unfamiliar droppings around, especially given the open-air living spaces. Also, if you arrange transportation with them, make sure you get an accurate receipt of who has paid the shuttle in full as communication with the driver can be difficult if you do not speak fluent Spanish. Overall I would 100% recommend this place!!

Wedding Central

Beautiful older house right in downtown. We were there for a wedding with people staying all over the place but the central location was so convenient for people just to drop in. It was a 2 to 3 block walk to the central Square. It was a one block walk to the beach. There was loud music on the beach, pretty much all night long, but all we could hear was the bass pulsating. We had a White Noise app on our phone that mostly drowned that out. We had Sandra cook several meals for us which I would highly recommend. There were problems with the plumbing. The hot water heater heater for multiple bathrooms is very small and we ran out of hot water several times. Once the water went out entirely and we had to flush the toilet by pouring water into it. Suzanne had a plumber come and check it out, but I do not know what they found . Communication was challenging because the Vrbo messaging feature would go down for multiple hours at a time. We would call Suzanne, but if she was traveling where there wasn’t cell service, we would not hear back for multiple hours which was a bit of a problem. The pack and play was very dirty because guess had taken it to the beach. Suzanne rented us a clean one for our infant to sleep in. Overall, we had a great time.

Warning very LOUD!!

Our family was here for week in November. The entrance is off the street and you are close to everything including the beach bars that play very loud music all day and all night. With talking to some of the locals the big party nights are Friday Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately the week we were there is was every single day and night. The owner of the property said it was an isolated week of loud music. Just so happened to ruin our family vacation. It was miserable. We also experienced water issues during our stay. The hot water heater was constantly being blown out by the wind and we made do but was frustrating. Double check the hammock up on the top balcony. It came crashing down when I was in it. The support ropes had disintegrated and needed to be replaced. Getting injured was just another thing that was tough to deal with while on vacation. Now for the positive things of the home. It was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and comfortable. Sandra the house keeper/chef was a delight. She comes everyday to clean and tidy up. We had her fabulous meals during our stay and fell in love with Sandra and her family. We unfortunately would never return to this location but apparently the owner has numerous other rentals that are off the beaten path away from all the noise. I would recommend looking further down the beach or up on the hillside for your next vacation.

Best VRBO I’ve ever stayed in.

Best VRBO experience I’ve ever had, hands down. The house is wonderful on it’s own but the host made this an unmatched experience. Susan arranged transportation from the Puerto Vallarta airport to the house (and back), she suggested local guides and businesses to suit our needs, and best of all she has amazing staff available at the house. Sandra makes amazing, authentic Mexican cuisine and Illian is the margarita master. I did not need or want for anything during my stay and I highly recommend staying at the Buddha Beach Villa.

Beautiful views overlooking the main beach & quiet space in the heart of town.

Great communication, flexible & accommodating, (thanks!) gorgeous space. Everything in town is walkable. Our host offered to arrange transportation from & to the airport. If I had a do-over with this trip I would do that as parking our rental van on the small streets in town was a bit of a hassle. Our group loved exploring the beaches up and down the coast, surfing, fusing, cooking meals in the huge kitchen, and trying some of the wonderful restaurants. Sunsets & sunrises from the top deck were wonderful too.

Fantastic location, great areas to relax

We really enjoyed our stay. Six of us stayed at the house, and thoroughly enjoyed the location that was right in the middle of town, steps from the beach and great local restaurants. Even though the downtown can be loud at night, this location is quiet and insulated from the noise. The Buddha spa downstairs was great for massages. The kitchen and outdoor seating area were great for relaxing as was the top deck overlooking the bay.

40th Birthday Bash Celebration

It was exactly what I wanted and more to celebrate my 40th birthday! Check in was easy, and it was nice to have continued communication with the owner(s). Sandra, the house keeper was a delight and we enjoyed having her around. The Villa is absolutely breath taking with a ton of room for a group of people. Beds were comfy, and the villa had a peaceful vibe. It is in a prime location, with steps from the beach, bars, and restaurants. For my birthday dinner, we used the option to have it cooked at the villa for us, and it was delicious!! So much food was served, and the drinks were great! The following morning we had brunch served at the villa as well. Sandra, did a wonderful job, with an authentic Mexican breakfast. The only thing that everyone needs to know about the villa, is that there are A LOT of stairs. If there are people in your party that may have a hard time with continued stair climbing, this villa may not be for you. We look forward to when we will return to Sayulita! It is a magical place and the people are amazing!!!

Great Location

There is so much good stuff to write about this place. The location is number one. We didn’t even bother putting our sandals on to get to the beach because this place is literally ft from the beach. Sandra the care taker of the home was amazing and cooked us the best breakfasts every morning. I highly recommend including the breakfast in your stay here, so soooo good. The hosts Summer and her Mom were so generous and gracious with their time and availability to talk with us and make us feel at home. When we got there we had the best guacamole and chips ready to snack on. We all learned how to surf out here and spent hours in the ocean. Sayulita is a magical organic place and it has stolen a piece of my families heart. We will definitely be back here!!

Awesome house in a Perfect location

Location of house was in the middle of it all - shopping, restaurants and the beach. The house is awesome, very well appointed. The housekeeper kept the place looking amazing (in spite of my kids!). All of the rooms have King size beds and their own en suite bathroom which was a huge bonus. Loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Amazing Spacious Villa!!

We fell in love with this villa! All rooms have their own bathroom and a king bed! The design of the villa is beautiful. Mrs. Crecencia was very kind and her Mexican breakfasts were delish! The beach views are amazing!!

Perfect Location

Excellent location, the property is large and well maintained. The owner was very attentive to our needs and suggested an excellent caterer for a celebration dinner. The property is well equipped and located steps from the beach.

Perfect location, great house!

This house made for the perfect Sayulita family vacation. The location couldn't get any better. A couple of steps from the beach, and a few steps from the plaza and a ton of great restaurants. House keeper was great and the house was very clean. Kitchen was clean and awesome with everything you'd need for preparing and making meals. Suzanne was super helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place! Centrally located! Clean!

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing place in Sayulita! The kind cook and cleaner, Crecencia, made a yummy and authentic breakfast every morning for us. We loved how the place was decorated and the view of the ocean was amazing! We would definitely return to this place again.

Great house, great location, great staff!

Our party had 5 adults and 4 teens between 15 and 17. We booked this house months ago and during that time one of the people in our party had broken her leg and had surgery. She was on crutches and although the stairs in the house would have been problematic, we were able to give her the bedroom on the main living area. The location of the house to the beach was such an added bonus! Clencicia (spelling?) and her daughter Petra kept the house amazingly clean! We had fresh towels and bedding every day. Clencicia cooked breakfast for us every day for a small fee which was perfect! Hint on breakfast time: if you think you'd like to eat early, like we did...remember you're on vacation and push it back an hour! The house decor was really beautiful and the open air of the kitchen dining area was great! We couldn't have been happier! We were able to sit on the top balcony and watch the kids surf late into the afternoon (even after beaching it all day). Suzanne and Sommer were really nice and were able to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this home for a rental!

Spectacular Villa at the heart of Sayulita

We chose the Buddha Beach Villa to hold our small wedding. We were looking for a place to accommodate the two of us and our respective adult children. There were eight of us in total. The Buddha Beach Villa was, in a word, perfect. When we arrived at the Villa we were greeted by Santiago. He toured us around the three levels of this amazing house, and made us feel completely welcome. Santiago also helped us organize a boat excursion on the Chicca Locca (we highly recommend this!). Suzanne’s son Taylor also came to welcome us. We chose the bedroom on the second level. It features a breath-taking view of the ocean through two large French doors. Each night, for as long as the heat was bearable, we would leave the doors open to listen to the crashing waves and watch the spectacular lightening shows. Eventually we would shut the doors and turn on the AC. In the mornings we were greeted by Clemencia and her phenomenal Mexican breakfasts. Instead of requesting typical breakfasts from back home, we let her do her magic. Each breakfast was an authentic creation of sopes, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, frijoles, or quesadillas and all accompanied by fresh tropical fruit or freshly made juice. The top level of this fantastic property was where we chose to hold our wedding ceremony. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful backdrop. It features sweeping views of the beach and ocean, and also gorgeous views of the pretty homes dotting tropical hills around Sayulita. The rest of the house is spectacular. The kitchen features everything you need to cook up amazing meals, or do what we did and have Chef Oscar prepare a delicious gourmet dinner. There is a huge bar and fridge to hold lots of icy cold Coronas. And too many loungey sofas and comfy squishy chairs to speak of. The wall art, sculptures, lighting and carved doors will make you feel like you are in exotic South East Asia. The location of the Villa is ideal. Literally out the door, down the stairs, turn left and you’re at the beach. Across the street is a very cool little bar called Lucid. They make a killer raspberry mojito. A block and a half in the other direction and you’re in the center of town where there are lots of bars and restaurants. We especially liked Itacate for incredible authentic tacos, and Mama Mia for delicious, handmade pasta. Don Pato’s is a very fun time, with really great live music in the open air. In short, we had an unforgettable wedding at the Buddha Beach Villa. We will be back!

LUXURY AT IT'S FINEST!

We spent 7 wonderful days at Buddha Beach Villa. The villa was incredible and the location could not have been better. Each of the bedrooms was beautifully done with amazing decor and comfy beds. The common areas had the comfiest couches and tons of beautiful pillows. I absolutely loved sitting in the hammock on the veranda and watching the waves crash on the beach. The Villa was centrally located and about 10 steps from the beach. The restaurant downstairs, Don Pedros, has amazing food and exceptional service. They brought dinner to the house and it was incredible. There is also an option for a chef and I would highly recommend setting that up on your visit. The dining area has the best view in all of Sayulita. We had breakfast served every morning by the wonderful Clemencia and it was incredible. Our hosts were exceptional at helping us navigate Sayulita. Summer was always downstairs at the shop and spa if we needed anything.. By the way, best massage I have ever had was at the Spa downstairs. Our hosts set us up with yoga at the house.... highly recommend getting Shanti as your instructor. We surfed, relaxed and truly enjoyed all that Sayulita had to offer.

Absolutely STUNNING! Most amazing stay!

I came to Sayulita looking for a great place to hold my wedding next year. I wanted it to be on the beach and in town so all my friends and family would not have to go far. The place is stunning! You walk into the front carved doors and you are in your own world. We were the first guests to stay there, so everything is brand new and gorgeous. Suzanne and Summer greeted us when we arrived and explained everything to us. On the first floor there is the game room, foosball and other games, also a bedroom and very large bathroom on this floor. You then go down a few stairs to a beautiful living room and enter two beautiful Balinese doors where there are two large bedrooms with bathrooms. There is a large terrace that overlooks the creek and ocean off of each of the bedrooms. Upstairs there is a huge kitchen and full bar and another large living room with a T.V. with comfortable couches to relax. Perfect for the boys if they want to watch a game on T.V. There are T.V's and A/C's in every bedroom with very comfortable beds with all brand new top of the line linens. Half this floor is inside and the other half is outside. There is a large terrace where you can eat your meals and can accommodate large gatherings for events, parties, or whatever. They offer full guest services, which includes chef, cleaners, bartenders and waiters (upon request). There is also a stunning roof top terrace with comfortable couches, a hammock to lay on and look at the beautiful surf break right in front. We decided to let them organize our whole wedding. We are going to have our wedding on the beach and come back to the Villa for our reception. There are about 50 people coming and there is plenty of room for that if not more. I cannot recommend this Villa any higher than this. It is amazing, so much nicer than a hotel and in a perfect location. Just right out the door is the beach and all the restaurants are within a minute or two away. My family is going to love it. Everyone has a place to hangout, and you never will feel crowded. I am an avid surfer and you can see the surf right from the terrace and out the door and in the water in two minutes!! They also offer private yoga lessons so we are planning on doing that too when we return for our wedding. They own a spa and boutique downstairs which is amazing. We wound up buying a lot of things there. We also had massages from Linda & Isabel and they were the best ever. Absolutely loved it! Can't wait to come back!

It is a family affair!! My mother bought property in Sayulita in 1986 when I was a young girl. Back then the town was very sleep with chickens, horses and pigs roaming free! Sayulita has blossomed into a bohemian beach town with amazing shopping, incredible dining options and many activities. Sayulita mostly is famous for its surf, art and yoga vibe, but whatever you need to get away from I guarantee it will leave an impression and you will fall in love with Sayulita.
My mother moved down to Sayulita 18 years ago with my two younger brothers and I went off to NYC and Paris to pursue my passion for Design. We also own a beautiful boutique and spa below the villa. It features a unique line of bohemian clothing, original jewelry and accessories from around the world. I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter and feel very grateful to have such a beautiful life here in Sayulita with all of my family!!
