North End Family Beach House

Enjoy the relaxed and neighborly North End of Virginia Beach. It claims the widest and most scenic beach in all of Virginia Beach. Our beach house is located on 87th Street in the quiet residential area of the oceanfront, yet only a five minute drive to the Virginia Beach resort area.

This cozy, yet spacious beach cottage is great for families. It has a large eat-in kitchen, separate dining area, living room, and den. The large screened-in porch is ideal for reading or relaxing away from the sun. The porch has a table for outdoor dining, patio lounge furniture and a ping pong table. Our home boasts one of the few remaining large backyards on the North End.

Our beach house has four bedrooms and three full baths. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bathroom with a shower. The second and third bedrooms have two twin beds each. The twin beds can be arranged together or separated easily. The fourth bedroom has a full size bed and a set of bunk beds. All beds have pillows and comforters, but you are required to bring your own bed linens (sheets and pillow cases) and bath towels.

There are two Smart TVs in the house, one in the master bedroom and one in the Den.

In 2024 we completely renovated the kitchen, including new cabinets, quartz countertops, ceiling and lighting, sink and all new appliances. We also purchased new patio furniture for the screened porch. The entire inside of the house was repainted and we have upgraded furniture, rugs and bedding.

The beach is just one block from our house, over the dunes on a wide boardwalk built for easy access. We provide a beach cart to carry all your beach gear. We even have boogie boards for your use. Whether you enjoy sunning, swimming, fishing, building sand castles or strolling along the beach, this is the ideal spot.

There are many great restaurants, good shopping areas and fun family activities located just a few minutes away in the Virginia Beach Resort Area.

There are also many fun, historic and exciting attractions nearby including: First Landing State Park, The Virginia Marine Science Museum, Nauticus, The USS Wisconsin Battleship, Ocean Breeze Waterpark, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown.

We had a great multi-family stay with kids - short walk to the beach and quiet street, had lots of laughs playing ping pong when we weren't making memories at the beach. Enjoyed meals and games together at the long table in the dining room and relaxing out in the screened porch area, too.

This is a perfect spot for the family of 2 (4 adults and 4 teens). House is bigger than we anticipated and has everything we need, including a kitchen with all applicants you need, cleaning supply. (Almost everything. Do bring your own bed sheets/shampoo as stated in the website. And hair dryer..) Location is also super. Owner is very responsive via Vrbo chat. We really enjoyed this place.

June vacation

Had a great vacation. Quiet area but close enough to drive to restaurants or stores. Owners where very easy to communicate with since they had some problems with house but had all fixed up before our vacation stay. House is large enough for my sister's family with 2 teens and mine with 1 teen and a 10 year old. Would love to come back next year.

Perfect for the family!

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teen boys) loved this property and would definitely come back! My only regret was not being able to see or hear the ocean from the property - which we knew would be the case when we booked - but we counted our steps from front door to the beach sand to be about 400 which was actually closer than we expected. Lots of room and bathrooms for everyone. Large screened in porch was a dream. Too hot and humid for the yard games we thought we’d play in the lovely back yard, but it was nice to not be on top of neighbors. Since we love to watch movies at night, my only wish was that the TV had been in the main living room with the 2 couches and chairs vs in the smaller side room with one loveseat and 2 chairs. Quaint and dated but with all the amenities and no issues with the A/C. Obviously a family owned home with lots of memories and heart. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

SOS Summer Vacation 2021

Older home but so spacious. It had everything we needed in kitchen and bedrooms and enclosed patio was a plus. Easy walk to beach and so private. Overall just an excellent location and price was reasonable.

Family Vacation

With us being grandparents, the house was ideal to provide enough space for us, our adult children, and grandkids. And with the location being within walking distance to the beach was an added bonus!!

Was an enjoyable time and good location for privacy

Me and my family enjoyed ourselves it was a nice place. A short walk to the beach beach was not crowded you can get out and enjoy yourself. Quiet neighborhood away from everything but but not a long drive to get to anything 15 -20 minutes

Fantastic Trip!

This property is fantastic! The house has so much character. You know when you stay here you’re staying in a home that was loved. The location cannot be beat. You’re far enough north that you’re away from the hustle and bustle, and the beach area is quiet and beautiful. We saw more dolphins than we could count. If you like a taste of the nightlife, you can drive down to the boardwalk. We truly hope to return to this house when we do future land vacations.

Nice location on VA Beach

Great experience! Owners were great with communication. Property was in good condition and very clean. Very large back yard. Very easy walk to the beach, convenient to Ft Story and First Landing State Park.

North Virginia Beach

Great place for our family beach week! Just a short walk down the path for the beach was fantastic- people could come and go as they wanted. Loved watching dolphins from the beach! The kitchen was well equipped and we spent many hours on the screened in porch. Our hosts were informative and made it all very easy. Would definitively come back again!

GIRLS TRIP

LOVED WORKING WITH THE OWNER AND THE AREA WAS WONDERFUL. OUR ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT THERE WAS MOLD ALL OVER THE SHOWER CURTAINS AND SHOWER IN THE MASTER BEDROOM WITH VERY LITTLE WATER COMING OUT OF SHOWER HEAD. THE HALL WAY BATHROOM SHOWER DRAINED VERY SLOW AND WOULD FILL UP WHILE SHOWERING. A LITTLE OUT DATED BUT THE TRIP WAS A SUCCESS.

Family sized house with easy beach access

This was a great house for four different family groups staying in one location. Beach access was less than a three minute walk. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in all our meals. The kids loved the large back yard. If you are looking for fancy this is not it. If you are looking for a fun filled family house with space to eat together in the dining room, kitchen, or screened in porch, this is your place. Loved it!! Thanks for a great long weekend in a homey house.

This beach house has been in my family for over 60 years. Four generations of the family have enjoyed using the beach house and spending time at the North End of Virginia Beach. Growing up we were lucky enough to spend most of the summer here, having fun swimming, surfing, crabbing, sailing and just enjoying the beach with family and friends.

We are located at the best part of Virginia Beach where the beach is the widest and in a residential area, area from the crowds. Our beach house is a comfortable, cozy family place with all the amenities you need to enjoy a vacation at the beach. When you've had enough of the beach, the large backyard provides plenty of room to play and the screened in porch provides a nice spot for reading, ping-pong and outdoor dining.
