I've been traveling to Maui for nearly 20 years, and I generally stay in 2 locations in Maui. When I'm on the south side I stay at Kihei Akahi. Its so convenient to everything near by restaurants, activities, grocery store....(Foodland), etc. It centrally located to upcountry and Paia. Makena, and Waila just a few miles down S. Kihei Rd. So yes...I highly recommend Kihei Akahi property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My vacation rental was lovely. A beautiful, clean, quiet and cozy spot. Perfect for my holiday. The only thing I would mention, and it did become a bit of an issue, is that the door handle often did not open after I entered the correct code. The light would flash green after I entered the right code, I would push the handle down and it would still be locked/the door would not open. I had to get a security guard to help me with it one day after trying 3 times to open it. You did order a locksmith to come and fix it but that did not solve the problem as I was still having issues after they completed the work. I had to try 5 different times to get in one day and bruised my hip pretty badly trying to push the door open. I called your after hours line one day and someone gave me a tip to lift the handle up before pushing down, which worked mostly for my last couple of days. Other than this issue, which did cause a bit of anxiety as I was worried if I could get into my unit after getting home from being out and about all day, everything was wonderful. And I bring this up because I really think you should get this properly fixed so it's not an issue for your next guests. I only gave 4-stars in two of the questions below as a reflection of this.

The place is quiet, peaceful and had a beautiful view of the ocean.There were a few things that I would like to mention though. There were kitchen cabinets that were missing and broken. The kitchen utensils specially the spoon and forks were very old. It made me feel they have been used and abused, would be nice to have sparkling new spoons and forks to use. There were no cooking knives to use, they were all steak knives which you cannot use properly to cut. I was looking for extra bedsheets to use for the pull out bed in the living room but they were located under the bed in the room which I did not see until it was time for us to leave. It would have been nice to see all the beddings in the closet since most of them were inside, I ended up using the thick winter blankets instead. Overall, the unit needs TLC- it needs to be updated pronto. It looks old and worn down. Thank you.

Pictures do not do it justice it is amazing. Tons of shops and restaurants are within walking distance along with kameole sands 2. Only concern is that bedroom window opens up by the elevator but for our stay everyone walking by was very quiet and respectful and the complex has signs reminding people to be quiet by the elevators

Close to the beach and great view

The condo is on the 6th floor very close to the elevator. If you keep the bedroom windows open at night there is a tapping sound that the elevator makes. We wore ear plugs to block out the noise. The condo D-608 has not been updated but it was clean. Had chairs and towels available. Very nice view and we enjoyed being on the top floor. Easy walk to the beach and far away back from the busy street noise. In walking distance to eating places. Kitchen had what we needed to prepare our own meals. Nice to have assigned parking. We had one problem that an alarm went off under the kitchen sink due to a small leak. We had to talk to building maintenance to figure out where the alarm noise was coming from and to have it turned off. Property manager is very good at communicating and responding to questions. The shower head and shower faucet could be a bit better. Couldn't adjust the spray or amount of water. The dryer filter needs replacing. All in all small issues and we enjoyed our stay.

Kitchen and king bed were the best. Living room needs repair as carpet was stained and curtains were torn and frayed. Elevator noise was irritating in bedroom (not much you can do.) Had to reboot cable box a few times and struggled to get TV as printed instructions did not work.

We were pleased with our condo. When we called about a couple of things, they were taken care of right away. The unit was clean, but could have been cleaner. The sofa needs a cleaning as well as the carpet. The table on the lanai is too big and the lanai itself had not been cleaned. The washer also was dirty. It's to bad there is no air in the bedroom. It made for uncomfortable sleeping with all the fans going. It also would have been nice to have had the air turned on prior to our arrival. It took 2 days to cool the unit down. The shade on the lanai was awesome. The view was fabulous!

Thank you for our recent visit to Maui and the Kihei Akaki Condos. The view from the balcony was amazing. Had a great time enjoying the sun and just relaxing which was our goal this time. This unit was very outdated, very noisy and many essential items were not supplied which for the cost I would have expected. I would not recommend this unit but I did see a couple others and they seemed lovely. The location and grounds are fantastic. I did use the maintenance feature and had no response, or impressed for my first stay. There should be a minimum level of care for a unit to be listed.

My wife and I stayed for a week in this beautiful condo home. As we left, both of us thought it would be a memorable experience. The kitchen and laundry and other facilities made us quite at home, and we feel so happy and comfortable that we would stay a few days longer if we could. We will come back again.
