Great ocean view from this top floor, one bedroom villa (King size bed)with cathedral ceilings. Enjoy the views from the private balcony off the dining area and the large common balcony out front. The living room offers a Queen aerobed, 46-inch flat panel TV in living area and free WiFi. Quick walk to the pool, spa, and health club. Only 10 steps to the villa from the road and a total of 900 SF. On chilly nights curl up in front of the fireplace (there are additional space heaters provided for your comfort). Come enjoy all the amenities Hamilton Cove has to offer. H962 | | Rental of a vacation home in Hamilton Cove includes use of the community’s amenities (pool, spa, health club, 18-hole putting course, tennis courts, croquet court, sand volleyball court and beach area with built in barbecues and picnic tables). Some restrictions may apply. Occupants subject to Hamilton Cove Homeowners Association Rules & Regulations. | | | This vacation home rents on a nightly basis (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted; 3 night minimum July & August). ----- This property is in a residential community and is only suitable for quieter groups. Gorgeous location, and villa. Only downsides were an alarm that beeped every 11 seconds for about 36 hours in the community, and a lot of ants in the apartment. Tub was wonderful, as was golf cart. 23 taxi each way from the port as of August 2025.

Hamilton Cove retreat

Fantastic location. Clear water beach along with tennis courts and lawns for outdoor activities. The golf cart is a great addition to the rental. Customer service was readily available and helpful. Great place to stay while visiting Santa Catalina Island!

Gorgeous Ocean Views

Gorgeous ocean views from two balconies. Spacious one bedroom in a beautiful gated resort. Includes golf cart that is a real plus for getting around the island.

Trip to Avalon

The view from the property is great. When the taxi company took us to the property the first day, they dropped us at the wrong building, so it would be nice to have a propety map link, with the checkin process. Othewise it was great.

Amazing views and a great place overall

Enjoyed our time here very much. Complex is absolutely stunning - felt like we were in the Mediterranean. Loved sitting on the balcony just watching the water, boats, birds, clouds... Specific location of the condo was great. Not on the main street, and high enough that the views were wonderful. Also super close to the pool and spa. The bed was very comfortable, and everything we needed was provided in the unit. We appreciated the beach chairs for use down at the little rocky beach. Would not have been comfy to sit on the rocks. The smart TV was nice as we could connect to our Netflix and Amazon accounts to watch a movie one night. The furniture in the living room isn't the most comfortable for lounging, but we didn't spend that much time on it, so it wasn't a big problem. Loved having the golf cart - in fact I don't know how you could stay out here without one. We enjoyed zipping into town and around the island during our stay. Overall, this was a great choice for us. We could go into town very easily, but also loved the peace and quiet of the Hamilton Cove complex.

Good location, bad experience

The Hamilton Cove community is a nice place to stay and the location of this unit was good. You'll need a golf cart to get around and this unit came with a newer gas powered golf cart which was nice. We were 2 adults and you could fit up to 4 people in this unit, but it would be a bit tight. When we arrived, the unit seemed mostly clean, but then we discovered ants and other bugs near the empty trash can. Also found ants on the bathroom counter, inside the cupboard with the cooking ware, and even in the cabinet with extra bed sheets. When we contacted the property manager, rather than offering to clean it for us, they just dropped off bug spray so that we could deal with it ourselves. The furniture in this unit is a bit dated and there were other signs that it could really use a deep cleaning. I wouldn't book this unit again, but I would stay in a different unit in the area.

The property is in a very beautiful place, the vila was built in the 80’s so it is a little outdated but the ocean view compensates for everything else. The major issue that the property management who started screaming when we left that we should have left the property after we check out from the room at 10 am. Really bad attitude.

Very disappointed

Unit is so run down it was uncomfortable as soon as we walked in. So many Things were broken with so many rules stating if you break it you pay. Old everything. Scary !! Golf cart was dangerous!! Thank God for Catalina Vacations moving us to a beautiful unit new golf cart. What the hell did you guys do? But represent a bad unit ! Shame on you.

There was a planned power outage by the power company. We awoke to no power or water. It was the day we had planned to enjoy the amenities of the complex. We couldn't take a shower, we couldn't go to the bathroom, we couldn't watch TV, we couldn't power our phones... we had to for to town to a public bathroom!! To make matters worse, it still wasn't useable when we wanted to get dressed for dinner!! This was our hioneymoon night!!!

Our time in Catalina was incredible and these condos are in an unbelievable location. It’s a beautiful property with amazing ocean views. But this particular condo needs some attention. I would say just about everything needs to be updated including the golf cart which broke down while we were there.

So beautiful!

Loved this condo so much. I called it “ The Golden Girls Condo.” The decor was super cute and had a ‘Golden Girls’ vibe. We didn’t want to leave. The views were amazing. Our little piece of heaven we had for 3 nights and 4 days! The golf cart was a plus. It was definitely needed to get around since the heart of Avalon is further away and it came in handy the few times we went to the grocery store (Vons). It is a little outdated, and a little slow getting up the hills but it did the job. It didn’t bother as much. We just laughed about it because we were so happy to be there. Other than that, it ran fine. We also visited the private beach that was on Hamilton Cove . It was so nice to wake up every day and drink coffee looking at the ocean views! Thank you for letting us use your beautiful condo! It was an amazing experience.

Great unit with even greater views!

The unit was very spacious with a gorgeous bathroom! The view is absolutely breathtaking - amazing to wake up to. There were many times where we were tempted to just stay in as it was so comfortable. We figured it would be best to cook rather than eat out for every meal, and we were very happy that the kitchen was well equipped with utensils. A few tips that didn't cross our mind before arriving: -The golf cart remains in Hamilton Cove so be prepared with cash for a taxi after check-in and before check-out as the rental office is in Avalon. We normally don't carry a lot of cash, but there is an ATM in a convenience store near the rental office. It was around $20 each way. -If you've never operated a golf cart before (like us!) the gas "tank" is located under the back passenger seat. Pull the bench of the seat towards the front of the cart. -We visited Catalina in March which we anticipated would be a cooler time of year. The entire unit is tiled (as seen in the photos), so nights did get cold. We found a small space heater and another older model space heater, but the latter was the only one which worked. Would recommend bringing warm pajamas or comfortable sweaters if visiting during colder times of the year. Overall, the unit is fantastic and it was extremely calming to be able to stay at such a quiet location.

Beautiful Ocean Views!

Hamilton Cove is definitely the place to stay on Catalina if you are looking for a relaxing stay with gorgeous, gorgeous views. This unit was perfect for my family of four. Very spacious and the pull-out bed worked great for our kids. I really like this unit because it was very quiet and just a short walk to the pool, which was a great part of our stay. Also, only one flight of stairs. My daughter used the workout facility, which was really nice also. The golf cart was a definite plus. The booking process was flawless and everyone we dealt with was very nice and helpful. In terms of the island, we had a great time. So laid back and relaxing if that's what you want, but lots of activities to do as well. There is an active party vibe at Descano Beach and in town on the weekends if that's what you're looking for. We really enjoyed the snorkeling at the dive park. I would definitely recommend a trip to Two Harbors - beautiful boat ride and the best beaches. The equipment rentals were also very reasonable there - wet suits, snorkel gear, paddle-boards, etc. My only complaint about the unit is the dryer. It took forever to dry our clothes. But, not a big deal as staring out over the gorgeous complex to that ocean view while drinking coffee each morning more than made up for it. My only complaint about the island is the food! Meals in Avalon are expensive and not that good. We ate at several restaurants (all highly rated according to Yelp) and were surprised that the food was mediocre at best. If I had to do it over again, I would cook almost all meals at the condo and spend that money on activities. Vons and Vons Express are decent resources and you can buy seafood at the Fish & Chips place on the Pier or at the Lobster Trap. The kitchen in the condo is very well stocked and the grill worked great. There are also charcoal grills down by the beach on the property that are great. We had good experiences at Mr. Ning's Chinese Restaurant, Catalina Brew House (maybe the best brownie I've ever eaten), Scoops and Harbor Sands in Two Harbors. We were there for 6 days and the best meal we had by far was at Harbor Sands. In terms of the beaches, unless you're just planning on a short dip, you will need a wet suit and aqua socks. The water is cold and the beaches are rocky in Avalon. The beaches in Two Harbors are mostly sand. Don't be deterred, just be prepared! Many thanks to the owner for sharing this unit. We had a great time.

Hamilton Cove is the best place to stay in Catalina, hands down.

The value of the golf cart alone is worth its weight in gold. And the ocean-facing villas are surreal - comparable to something in Cinque Terre.
