The space
We invite you to enjoy our peaceful & sun-filled open-concept bungalow boasting floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views of Georgian Bay!
Featuring 2 bedrooms (1 Queen bed and 2 double beds (bunk-style), a fully-equipped kitchen, living room with natural gas fireplace and a dining room.
Walk out to an over-sized 2-tier deck with a private backyard bordered with emerald cedars and chiminea/ fire pit to roast your s’mores.
Remember to bring your fishing rods…Sturgeon Bay is well-known for great fishing (& ice-fishing) too. You can buy bait at the Pine Country Store on Pine street on your way to the cottage or at Pier 69 Marina. There is also a public government dock for fishing as well. You can also rent a fishing boat from Pier 69 marina for the day!
Enjoy direct access to 19 km of non-motorized paved Tay Shore Trail where you can run, roller blade or bike ride etc.. to Coldwater or Midland and other charming towns to discover in between.
Waubaushene public beach is a short 3 minute walk along the trail where you will find a small sandy beach/ shallow swimming area with a long pier and small parkette to enjoy.
Conveniently located right off Hwy 400/ Hwy 12 West exit, 1 hr from Vaughan, 1.5 hrs from Toronto, 30mins north of Barrie, 20 mins to Orillia (Casino Rama), 15 mins to downtown Midland.
If you are looking to include some pampering we suggest to visit: Vetta Nordic Spa is 25 min drive south, or Rawley's & Christie Mills Spa is a 10 min drive north.
If you have a watercraft such as a boat or Sea Doo, you can launch it at local marinas (2 min drive away) for an in & out fee. You can inquire in advance for weekend slip fees.
Our cottage is on municipal water, which makes the water safe for drinking and cooking.
During the early Spring, Fall, Winter months a natural gas fireplace is turned on and controlled by a thermostat which warms up the entire cottage & offers a cozy ambiance! Electric baseboards are in each of the bedrooms and in the bathroom as well.
A brand new propane BBQ is available, including cleaning/ cooking utensils.
High Speed Internet is included. A brand new 40" Roku Smart TV is provided to log on to your personal Netflix/ streaming accounts. There is also a collection of DVD's and VHS movies to enjoy on a 32" flat screen tv in the bedroom with bunks.
We also offer playing cards and a variety of board games for your enjoyment!
All beds and pillows are covered in waterproof covers. Bed linens, bath, hand, kitchen towels are provided. Please just bring your own beach towels!
Guest access:
You have access to the entire cottage, deck, front yard/patio and backyard, private lower waterfront area including the concrete dock.
Some Cottage Rules to Note:
- Min 25 yrs & older to book. Families with children of all ages welcome.
- No Pets Please.
- No smoking of any kind inside the property, please discard cigarette butts safely and do not leave butts on the property.
-Please respect the noise by-law.
-No parties, bachelor/ bachelorette parties please.
-Please respect our neighbours and stay within the property limits. Guest(s) must avoid trespassing onto adjacent properties at all times.
- Only the # of guests booked are allowed on the property. We can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 6 guests. Additional charge of guests more than 4 will be applied at $50 per person per night. This charge will be requested after booking. Should unregistered guests stay day or overnight, $100 will be charged per night accordingly and can be asked to leave at the discretion of the owners.
- Please park on the granular area only, not on the grass.
- We welcome all families, but please be advised that there are no child safety devices installed, such as baby gates and child locks.
- Water Safety: Water activities, including swimming, paddle boating, kayaking etc... are inherently dangerous. Two (2) Adult Life jackets are provided and recommended to wear while on the paddle boat or kayaks. You are responsible to bring life jackets that properly fit your children. You indemnify the owners and their agents for any and all activities related to water.
Camp Fires permitted only in the backyard chiminea. Please bring your own fire wood (can be purchased at the Esso station or country pine store). Please follow Tay fire rating guide and only have a fire when permitted.
The property has stairs from the deck to the backyard including stairs to the waterfront. The grounds are naturally uneven due to exposed roots, including boulders to protect the shoreline against coastal waves/ erosion. Precautions must be taken by all guests as to avoid and prevent slip and fall.
