Great Value for the City!

We stayed one night here since we needed to be close to the airport for our ladt night.Centrally located and short walk to China Town and Fishermans Wharf. Cool artwork in the room plus the overall accommodation definitely give a NYC vibe - definitely recommend!

Basic hotel, no issues

Nothing fancy, but it did the job. There were a few bugs (nothing crazy) and the walls were very thin, but the room was basically clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and I got to check in early at no extra charge. The price is great though: would recommend for the mid-picky traveler who wants to avoid the SF hostels.

It’s in a fantastic location and was easy to get everywhere from there. Chinatown was basically just outside our door and Union Square a 5 minute walk. We walked to pier 39 in about 25 minutes and to the cable car turn around in about 15 minutes. Literally everything was so conveniently close. It’s no 5 star but definitely a 3 star and we enjoyed our stay. Crazy old cage elevator if you can’t do stairs and the stairway is narrow and steep with a hairpin turn at the top. We truly enjoyed our stay there. We are not fussy people who need all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel either.

Room was very cute and quirky. Unfortunately, the TV wouldn’t turn on. At first I was on board with the clawfoot tub but actually using the bathroom was a challenge. Shower curtain kept billowing into water stream/my body and there didn’t seem to be any way to keep water off the floor. Room was also hard to regulate the temperature. I would say this room would be great if you’re younger and not spending much time there. I also feel like the picture shown on the website is the best of the best of these rooms.

Low cost at a cost

This property saves time using an electronic key, which is glitchy and there are not staff to assist much of the time. The elevator is old and has a heavy gate which was hard for my family member. They have emergency numbers listed to help and never answered either. Was able to get the key to work but with much risk to be stuck. The last day I had to help a person in a wheel chair leave the hotel because the mobility door wouldn’t work, he would have been stuck backing up to a road with a hill at great risk as there were no staff on a Saturday at 11 am to assist. Stay here at your own risk, not for the mobility impaired, and don’t arrive late.

One Night Stay

The room was just ok. For a one night stay, the reasonable cost in the San Francisco local, close to the cruise port, it met our needs. The rep at the front desk was very helpful with the check-in process and she was very kind and patient with all my questions.

Great for a short stay by myself!

I was originally supposed to share the queen with my cousin but she couldn't go, and I have to say it would have been quite crowded with two people. I really enjoyed it except that there is no ventilation, fan or other temperature controlling mechanism. Even with the window open it was pretty stuffy and warm, especially after showering, and I couldn't have the window fully open while changing because others could see inside my room. So it was even more stuffy coming out of the shower. I know SF is usually fairly cold so maybe this is just a new development with unusual temperatures. Still, I can't imagine being comfortable in one of those rooms in the summer. But the place was cute and clean and I enjoyed the location.

Not worth it

This property could really use a deep clean. There is no AC which is fine, but there’s also not even a fan. It’s uncomfortably hot. Their elevator is “temporarily” out of service so it’s a 4th floor walk up. This is really challenging to do with luggage. Their lobby has signs for fresh paint so you can’t sit in the lobby either because the chairs are covered. Finally, their openkey system worked great for checking in but stopped working when we returned at 2am. We tried everything but ultimately had to contact the host who is not on site, and they sent us a new code that worked. Really frustrating to be stuck in that way. There are cheaper hotels that are much better than this so it really isn’t worth it.

I’m sure this is an older hotel, which I’m perfectly fine with. For me this ended up just being a place to sleep since the hotel itself really doesn’t offer much. No parking as well. Check in happened after hours and we had no problem with it. Directions were precise. I thought we would see someone at the front desk the following day but the entire stay the very small lobby was empty. Here is my biggest complaint is that the picture of the room, which is why we chose this hotel in the first place, was not the room we received. Each room is themed different which is great! I think that would bring people back to experience each room and how beautiful and different each room is. So my advice to the hotel is put rooms up individually so people have the correct expectation when booking. Our room was beautiful but probably wouldn’t of picked that one myself. Very misleading and a huge disappointment!

Nice little spot for a work related trip

This is a boutique hotel in an old building and I enjoyed my two week stay. Not all rooms have a refrigerator, so make sure you confirm. The help I received during my stay was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. Taking strolls in Chinatown after work was a nice wind-down from the day, as well as the nearby restaurants (check out Leleka, Today Food, Nomu & the ice cream shop around the corner). If old buildings aren’t your thing, find something corporate.
