The property was ideal for me. It takes about a 3 minute walk to get to the beach, the Plaza Catalunya for catching local buses in and out of the city, and the main tourist information center. The owner, Marcel, kept in touch with me during the whole process and was very accommodating when I needed to start my stay a day early. The day of my arrival, Marcel met me at the Plaza Catalunya in Blanes and walked me through the property. You do have to go up 2 flights of stairs and there is no lift. This was not a problem for me but it might be for some people. The apartment looks just like the pictures and is an ideal size for 2 people. There are 2 European singles in the bedroom, which I suppose you could move together and make a queen size bed. The available bedding is for single size beds, however. The kitchen is basically stocked which includes a 2 range electric stove, microwave, washer, and smaller appliances. There are plenty of pots, pans, silverware dishes, etc to more than meet your needs. I experienced no problems with any of the equipment. If you choose to do wash there’s an economy and rapid cycle and Marcel let me know one flight up is access to a rooftop patio where you can hang clothes for drying. I never had any hot water issues while showering, which I have had at other places I’ve stayed at before. The WiFi worked great and there is a small TV with all the basic Spanish channels. The apartment has plenty of windows for light, however, there is no view. I didn’t see this as a problem since I was there to explore Blanes not view it from a balcony. The property is just off the main street in Blanes where two grocery stores are conveniently located. Also, about a block away is an open market which is great for getting fresh produce for doing your own cooking. The vendors are there every morning. Of course there are plenty of restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries and more all within easy walking distance of the apartment. I would definitely stay at this property again based on its price, amenities, location in Blanes, and the owner’s helpfulness. It goes without saying, too, I would definitely recommend making Blanes one of your places to see on the Costa Brava. There is plenty to see and do, yet, the city retains a true beach not tourist community feel.
I'm not great at writing reviews, but hopefully you'll find some of the below useful.
We were a mixed group of 10 people, 3 couples and 4 singletons - with a variety of ages.
We stayed in this villa at the beginning of October, after much searching of many sites, and we were not disappointed.
The property is large enough to find your own space, with well proportioned rooms and living areas. The kitchen is well equipped and the presence of a washing machine will be a benefit to any groups with children.
We hired cars from the airport and found the property with no issues. I would recommend a car for this property, but if you don't mind walking up hills it's doable without. A taxi from Blanes was around 8 Euros - so we tended to walk to town in the evening and taxi back.
The views, location and outside spaces of the apartment are all outstanding - we often had groups people in different areas enjoying different things - drinks and books, or pool and music, etc.
The photos don't do this place justice, and it is nicely situated between Lloret and Blanes allowing you access to the nightlife and the restaurants of your choice.
The final and ultimate reason to book and recommend this place to anyone, is the attention to detail and availability of the owner. He met us and showed us around - his English being far better than my Spanish. He contacted us prior to arrival and was always available whilst we were there for suggestions, help and any issues at the Villa.
Wonderful host, location and property if you want to relax whilst retaining access to local amenities - I would recommend having a car.
