The house was exactly as described in the description. Beautiful view, clean pool and hot tub. It's located in a nice neighborhood and there are excellent parks on either end of the street.

Beautiful location, oceanfront. The house is very neat and clean and equipped with everything you may need for your stay. The pool and hot tub are a big plus for the relaxing time you need. We have stayed in HPP, oceanfront, numerous times and this one rates with our other top VRBO rentals.

Our stay at Hale Kai Nalu was incredible! We booked it for our home base for our Hilo side adventures and it was perfect. We loved it so much we didn’t want to leave and spent way more time enjoying the Oceanside pool and gorgeous views than we thought we would. The house itself was wonderful and even better than it looked in photos. It’s a very nice place and higher quality than I thought it would be too, which was a very nice surprise! And Terry was great to communicate with - very responsive and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. Overall, an incredible experience and if I’m ever on the Hilo side again, I’d book here in a heartbeat!

A little slice of paradise! The home was clean and well stocked - lots of little extras like beach chairs, snorkels, lunch coolers, pool toys, umbrellas, etc - anything we could need! My four kids ages 9-15 absolutely loved the pool and hot tub. We enjoyed the beautiful view and quiet neighborhood.

My family LOVED our stay here at this property and would stay here again and again. The location is perfect, just far away enough and private to have complete peace and quiet but not too far from town, and the ocean views were absolutely amazing. We had all the amenities we could’ve needed. Everything was clean and we had no problems with pests which can be common in Hawaii. There was no central air conditioning but the individual a/c units in the bedrooms were very effective and we were able to cool the main part of the house with fans and by opening the windows for a nice ocean breeze. I definitely recommend this property for families!

Beautiful house and property. The pool amd hot tub were wonderful, since ot was chilly at night and hot during the day. We would stay again if we ever come back. Property manager was quick to respond. Had plenty of kitchen items to cook. We were entertained at night with the clue murder mystery games.
The view was amazing.

Perfect Place to Relax and Recharge

Great place to get away from the crowds on the Kona side of the Island with easy access to good local food/businesses and Volcanoes National Park. Definitely looking forward to staying here again.

Beautiful spot!

Our group of 6 (kids ages 4 and 6, two parents, and two grandparents) had a great stay! The kids loved the pool, and the ocean views are beautiful. Great base for seeing the volcano!

This property is a charming (not “luxury” in any way) home, located in a humble community/town, with an incredibly unique & beautiful view. There is literally an abandoned, boarded up home next door which made me feel very uneasy safety wise. However, the home is equipped with an alarm & we did not end up having any issues safety wise. My kids enjoyed the fun pool and I enjoyed the spa at night while star gazing and listening to the crashing waves (lots of bugs though so bring bug spray). The home upon entering was pretty humid/hot no central AC). Each room had a portable A/C unit that worked well but was noisy. The house was clean with the exception of all the windows which could benefit from a good professional cleaning since the highlight of this property is without a doubt the view. The water heater stoped working on our last day but Terry was quick to respond when I reached out and fixed it right away. He was responsive to a few other questions/concerns we had which we appreciated. Also, the host gave some great suggestions, our favorites were the Volcano National Park & the Botanical Gardens (must-dos for sure)! This location requires a lot of driving so make sure to rent a car. My husband/I enjoyed walking out on the volcano cliff and taking in all the beauty and incredible ocean energy. We took some amazing pictures and while it wasn’t the most ideal property for our family, we definitely made some great memories and obviously it’s been great for many others!

We wanted to reassure future guests that while we cannot control neighboring properties, we have never had any safety concerns at the home, and many guests have enjoyed peaceful and relaxing stays here. The property is located in a quiet, rural oceanfront community, which is part of its unique charm. As with many tropical oceanfront homes, occasional insects and salt air are part of the environment. The home does not have central AC, but each bedroom is equipped with its own AC unit for guest comfort. We appreciate your note about the windows and will continue working with our team to keep the property maintained. Thank you again for staying with us. We’re glad you were able to make great memories and experience the incredible beauty and ocean energy that makes this home so special.

This home was in a lovely, private community which provided us the privacy and space that made our vacation wonderful. There were so many thoughtful extras for making the beach easy, that it really made our time easy and less stressful. The private pool was well maintained and a huge part of making our stay comfortable and relaxing. It was easy distance to the volcanoes and close to stores and grocery when we needed them. We would definitely stay here again and loved our home away from home in Hawaii!

Perfect vacation spot

The property was a dream come true. Spacious home, a lot of the necessities were provided, the kids loved being in the pool while the adults enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing against the cliff. The breeze from the ocean was amazing. The host was always quick to respond to all our questions and made us feel VERY welcomed. We will definitely rent this home for our next trip back to the Big Island.
