Vackert dekorerad 1 sovrum, ett badrum lägenhet ligger på gångavstånd till stranden och ligger på en stor egendom som inkluderar en pool, bubbelpool, torrbastu, gym, lusthus, en fiske damm och rastplatser med grillar. Disappointed Stay

This was our 1st experience trying out a VRBO & lack of cleanliness pretty much turned us off. A cleaning fee is part of tacked on fees you pay here, after you look at the site & think you are paying the base price, but when we checked in, the silverware, dishes, pans, glasses, etc were dirty. The coffee pot even had coffee still in it. Floors clean except corners or under items. Thick dust on light fixtures & grooves of table tops. Shower curtain stiff & dirty. Drafty doors & windows, & only one extra bedspread, so it stayed chilly even before power went out due to unexpectedly cold weather.

Disappointed, Dirty, and Dangerous

The pictures of this condo looked nice but my husband and I were disappointed upon arrival. When we accessed the condo it had a mildew odor which got worse when the condo was warmer. The furniture are worn, stained, and need replacement at this time. The area rug needed vacuuming and my husband looked behind the sofa and found so much filth along with poker chips. The towels in the bathroom closet looked old and looked like they were used to clean cars. I usually pack towels when traveling but for some reason did not this time around, I only packed towels for our little ones, so after showering I simply air dried. The shower curtain had a thick layer of hard water grime. Our three year old found a one and a half inch screw on the carpet on our way to the beach the morning following our arrival. Additionally, there were sharp things on the carpet as my husband pulled a sharp object from his foot after walking around with socks. The sheetrock was severely water damaged around the front window and the window frames were rusted. After a day at the beach we did not want to spend another night there with our three-year-old and three-month-old so we packed up and left to head home and shortened our Mother's Day weekend getaway. The only reason why I'm even giving this place two stars is because of its close proximity to Whitecap Beach, which we truly enjoyed for the day we were there.

Pros and cons

Condo inside was nice and clean. Linens were clean. Outside steps were very old and disgusting which made a bad first impression. It was great having such a short walk to beach. Pool was very nice. However on morning of checkout there was no water which meant no toilet flushing and no showers.

Awesome location

Within walking distance to the beach, nice hot tub, condo was clean. The trip couldn’t of been any better. I was able to stay another night very easily due to my awesome host.

If you want to clean this place is for you!

It was very dirty when we arrived. There was so much dust and it smelled incredibly musty and dirty. I changed the air filter for the ac and it obviously hadn’t been changed in months (or possibly years). I ended up spending a lot of time cleaning that I would have rather spent relaxing! The beds are also super uncomfortable. Can feel every single one of the springs. I ended up sleeping on the couch - not pull out mattress but the actual couch because that was the most comfortable. Also since it is a first floor unit you are a bit at the mercy of the upstairs neighbors who when we were there were very “stompy” at all hours.

Perfect location!

The property was very clean and the location was great! The beach was a short walk away or you can drive to it and park right on the beach. There is a Bar and Grill called the Boathouse that serves really good food.

Highly recommended

The condo looks a lot better in person, you just need to open the blinds for more lighting. It’s pretty spacious compare to the other 1B1B condo we stayed at before in Beach Club. Randy was very nice and very responsive to my questions prior to booking. He gave us 10% military discount. Just show proof of service.

Prime location, but….

I drove 10 hours to get here and arrived to a dirty apartment. The bed hadn’t been turned from the previous tenants (old linen still on the bed), dirty towels on the bathroom floor. Kitchen counters were dirty and there was some kind of weird smell going on. The fridge doesn’t seal quite right and the smoke detector was missing in the front room. I tried contacting the owner two days prior to arriving just to make sure we were all set and got no response. I called a few times when I first arrived to complain about the condition and still got no response. The apartment complex personnel did finally come by and quickly did “some” spot cleaning, replaced linens on the bed, and threw the dirty towels in the washer. Still never got a response from the owner after leaving. The location itself is great. You can walk to the beach or drive onto it if you have a permit (no one checks for one). There’s a pool in the complex though we didn’t use it. I’m not sure if they own multiple units in the complex but I will not be spending my money with them anymore unfortunately.

Whitecap escape

Came down for corpus swim meet. This whitecap property was great. Great location to beach and causeway/Port A. Pictures don’t do the size justice . Place is spacious and cozy.

This apartment was excellently located a 5 minutes walk to the beach. Well stocked with utensils for cooking, cleaning, eating, family time., and sleeping.Comfortable. The downside is the odor that was difficult to eradicate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. Very quiet and peaceful. The beach was very close and so was all the shopping areas. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Good experience

Experience was fine with a few exceptions. The microwave is pretty much a goner and the sofa cushions certainly need cleaned but other than that, our stay went as expected. We've stayed in this condo numerous times and compared to a hotel room, our stay at the beach club is always much better. The condo has a washer & dryer which is a great perk for beachgoers and the fact that there is a wash station for the vehicle is wonderful since we always spend some time at the national seashore.

Nice place - a stroll to the beach

The unit is nice, there is a pool on the grounds and the beach is a block away. Bed was comfy. Convenience store and a couple of restaurants 2 blocks away. It is well equipped. The manager was helpful and communicated promptly. There were roaches though, and cleanliness could have been better especially during CoVid. Other wise I would have given 5 stars.

Lost Points on accuracy of posting, poor communication, and bare minimum amenities vs. high price

The listing is called a "Condo" when really it's just an apartment in a building and property full of other apartments. Despite the cleaners just having finished before I entered, the place was still not as clean as I would have liked, especially for the price I paid per night. I recognize this is a beach community and sand gets everywhere, but it was overall kind of just a scuzzy place. I arrived earlier than the check-in time, and I attempted to ask permission to take possession early, but none of my repeated attempted calls were answered by any of the three phone numbers provided in the contact info--not the two cell phones, nor the office phone. I met the cleaners as they were exiting and they said I could take permission, though I don't know if they had permission to say that. While my early arrival isn't the fault of the property manager, the unavailability to be contacted is. I received permission shortly after taking possession. The kitchen was serviceable, but barely even had any salt and pepper, let alone many other supplies commonly found in temporary rental units, such as aluminum foil, plastic wrap, containers to pack food for the beach, etc. For the price I paid per night, I expected much more cleanliness and more than the bare minimum of amenities. I would rent again for much cheaper perhaps, but the next time I go to Padre Island, I will be looking for a better unit. It was very close to the beach, which was nice, and the neighborhood was not next to the main road, which helped the community stay quieter for a peaceful stay. The residents in the unit above us were a bit noisy, however.

As a 4th generation musician, Ditto Sturchio has been entertaining for over 40 years. He began his musical training at 10 years old. At 16, Ditto was playing with prominent dance bands in San Antonio. He would perform until 2:00am at a local club, and then be on the football field rehearsing with the Thomas Jefferson High School Marching Band at 7:30am the next morning. He ultimately became the Drum-major his senior year. After High School, Ditto was awarded a piano scholarship to the University Of Houston. There, he studied under Albert Hirsch, chairman of the piano department. While working on a music degree, Ditto could not deny the overwhelming desire to entertain. Following his heart, he hit the road with show bands traveling the United States. While on the road, he performed in Nashville, more specificity the Operyland Hotel. This provided a great opportunity to open up shows for many country legends as part of the Roger V. Show. Before coming back to San Antonio, Ditto performed in the show “The Spell-Caster”, a main-room show at the Landmark Hotel in Las Vegas. After retuning to San Antonio, Ditto teamed up with his Dad, Al Sturchio, to launch “Sturchio Entertainment Inc.” It was an entertainment booking agency, that arranged entertainment for corporate, and private events. After performing one of those private events at The Argyle, Ditto was approached by management to play piano in the lounge. The piano was donated to the Argyle, for the lounge, by the Tobin Estates some 17 years ago. The Argyle has been home for Ditto Sturchio ever since.
