Våra 5 sovrum, 4 badrum, 4.300 kvm. ft. lyxhem (med hiss) är helt fantastisk! Small Group Weekend Trip

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed at this home in Durango for two nights with my men's group from church. While the house was clean on arrival, the overall experience fell short of what I expect for the price we paid.First, the management company would not allow us to have groceries pre-delivered and offered no concierge service, which was disappointing given that this is marketed as a luxury mountain home.More importantly, there were numerous plumbing problems. The main-level shower had a broken pipe that sprayed water all over the floor when turned on, making it unusable. We had to use the upstairs shower instead, which had uncomfortably high water pressure. The kitchen faucet was also in poor shape—the handle was coming off and it barely worked.For the cost of this rental, these issues were unacceptable. I hope the owners see this and realize that if they want to attract high-end renters, they need to ensure their property is maintained to a much higher standard.

The property was a quick walk to the ski resort. Check in/out was very easy. Communication was quick during our stay. Beautiful home that suited all our needs.

It surpassed our expectations!The home is huge at ~4,200 sq ft over 4 floors. Lots of stairs, in fact, there are 32 steps from the MBR floor to the main floor. This doesn’t include the top floor spiral staircase which adds another 12 steps. 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Great room that accompanies the dining area and kitchen. The huge wood-burning fireplace is a great touch and focal point. Plenty of seating, beautiful furniture and decor.The Chef’s kitchen is perfect. Not too big or small. High-end quality appliances. Plenty of cookware, utensils, glasses, cups, and specialty items. They also provide spices, coffee, baking items, cookware, you name it, it’s most likely there.Pros: Location close to ski lifts; No highway traffic noise (indoors); oversized garage, great views; luxurious.Cons: Thermostat on main floor is temperamental and very confusing; Lots of stairs!; wall switches everywhere!; MBR shower valve is tricky (turn it to Hot then turn it to Cold and then back to Hot). Elevator was not functional. Bring Fire Starters for the fireplace. Main floor shower needs a thorough cleaning as it looks bad (stained shower floor, glass door, shower head has calcium buildup). Outdoor grill and fire pit were out of propane gas.We will return in the future and are already looking forward to it!

Great but what you need to know

We could have used more silverware and some more assortment of cooking pans, but we made do. The stairs was a bit much. There were a couple of us who could have really used the unavailable elevator. All the steps were very hard. We just didn’t realize so many steps. Should be in article when advertised. View was breath taking and all in all a very beautiful place.

Property was clean, location was perfect for our walk to the slopes each day. Views from the giant picture windows were fantastic. Only issue was wifi - took us a while (about 12 hours) to get it working properly, and while the tech company we spoke to was very responsive, it took them a few calls and a stop at the house to get it up and running. Once it was addressed, no issues for the remainder of the days. One quick note - we brought extra paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods and trash bags. Would recommend the same for anyone who has a group of 12 or more and is staying for 4-5 days.

Beautiful site

I think the house is beautiful and the views are beautiful! I feel that when you book management should give an instruction packet to tell how garbage is picked up ect! How some of the extras are to work or at least make sure they work before guest arrive! Like the sauna! And property management should look at site before renting to make sure employees are doing or fixing exactly what needs done properly! The facility is worth the stay, just need a little more communication for the amount you pay to stay! 😊

Great Stay with Fantastic Views

Overall the home's location and views were fantastic. We were somewhat disappointed with the cleanliness of the floors and the home overall feeling worn. We ran into a number of issues including the microwave not working, the second floor shower was inoperable, the grill had not been cleaned, floor mats in the master bath were dirty, etc. Besides these details we greatly enjoyed our stay.

So great, yet…

Unique multi-layer layout with fabulous views. House was comfortable and met our needs, but… Parts were great-spa tub, sauna, heated floor, fire burning fireplace, loft, balconies. Parts were also not great-minor annoying broken parts here and there, nasty vent hood, junky pantry and garage, shabby LR furniture. With a little more care it could be so much more.

Convenient for skiing

Beautiful property close to the slopes! If you are not in the mountains to ski, this may not be the property for you just due to the access to dining, shopping, etc. But if you are looking to ski Purgatory, this location is fabulous! Beautiful home, Stunning views and very attentative property management. However the stairs are no joke: if you have someone in your group who is not fully able to handle stairs, this may not be the property for you. But it was great for us! We Will be coming back!

Awesome property

We had a large group stay and it slept everyone comfortably. Beautiful place and great location. We did have some trouble getting up the icy driveway in our rental vans.. they provided salt which helped, the kitchen counters wasn’t very clean, (we gave them a good cleaning upon arrival) Over all the house was clean and neat. There is a lot of stairs (the elevator was locked) so if you have knee problems just a warning that this may not be for you. We had some minor issues. The kitchen filtered water was very slow (like the filter needed changed) and the faucet hot water took 25- 30 mins to get hot enough to do dishes, the Dryer wouldn’t dry clothes very well (again just needed a deep vent cleaning) and the jacuzzi tub felt a little dirty.. we only uses it once so no deal breaker there! We Loved loved the master suite. It had lots of privacy and we enjoyed the sauna and steam shower. (I have trouble breathing high altitude so we used the steam shower every day)! We would definitely stay here again. You can’t beat the views and the convenience of getting to the slopes!

Outdated beauty

I’ve been to this property 4 times. Over all it is a good experience. There are just a few inconveniences that I would like to address. First, the hot water was not working due to the propane company not being able to service the tank. I understand it was due to weather but still annoying to be forced to take a cold shower. Second, the dry sauna has been out of service every time I’ve ever been to this property. It would be nice if this can be fixed and usable. And finally, it would be nice if the overall property could be spruced up. The first time I visited the property was in 2013 and even though it is still a nice house, it seems like it hasn’t changed much since then. Same bed spreads, curtains, etc…

Neglected castle

We really want to love this property and hope that the owners and property managers put the necessary love, money, and time into making it shine again. Check in was smooth but upon entering we realized we were told incorrect information: the main floor is a flight of stairs up and we had someone in a wheelchair. The person who answered our initial, pre booking questions, obviously had never been in the property. There is an elevator but it is broken. The biggest disappointment was that all of the blinds on the main floor, with the mountain views, were broken. The property manager said that maintenance would come the following day to fix them, but they never came at all. The cloth upholstery of the stools, pillows and bedspreads were very dusty and the dishwasher didn't clean the dishes. The window screens allow gnats in, but need to be open as there's no air conditioning in the summer. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a hot water situation- it takes 10 minutes to get hot water on the upper levels and the kitchen sink's hot water doesn't work (on the plus side the shower water pressure is fantastic). The ice machine is broken. The family room speakers are broken. Several light switches are broken. Also the place only has 3 private bedrooms (the queen and bunk bed rooms on the entry level, and the main floor queen). All bathrooms are shared. The basement level master and en suite double/queen is not private (no door to shared master bath and the double/queen entry door is inside the master). There's only parking for 2 small to mid sized vehicles. We felt neglected by the property managers but our friend group was awesome and we had an amazing time regardless. The neglected castle became a sort of a joke and the broken things just became funny. If the place was less expensive it would all be acceptable, but at nearly $900 per night, we give the place 2 stars.

Great Vacation Spot

We enjoyed our stay, it was a quiet atmosphere, with easy access to Durango & Silverton. There are a lot of stairs in this house, so be prepared. The master bedroom is two flights down from the main living area. Also it took a while to get hot water to the bathroom, but if you turn on the shower, it speeds up the process. This place has everything you could want for a quiet vacation on the mountain. The view is breathtaking! Perfect for a family getaway or a vacation with friends. Highly recommend!
