Holiday villa

We just came back from having a weeks stay at John and Lesley’s lovely villa, the villa has everything you could possible need and more…. The house it’s self is well equipped for comfy, cozy living while your on holiday, beds are comfy so you get a good nights sleep, the private swimming pool is amazing and much needed when it gets hot, the shared outdoor pizza oven and overall area is brilliant, kids absolutely loved it. The shared hot tub and sauna are well maintained and a brilliant option if you fancy it. The pictures for this villa do NOT do it justice in my eyes. the place is beautiful all the land you get so the kids can play is fantastic we wouldn’t hesitate in going back again and we hope we do book again with John and Lesley.

Great week in the French countryside

We have just returned from a week staying at the traditional Farmhouse in Villetoureix. We went as a family of 6 (3 couples), a 6 month old baby and a dog. there was more than enough room for us within the house and living areas. The pool was lovely and very safe, we spent many an evening eating out on the patio and having the access to the large jacuzzi was fantastic! The selling point for here is the pizza oven, it was great and really made the holiday! It is in a lovely quiet village, within close proximity to Riberac (5ish mins in the car) which had large supermarkets, pastry shop and lovely restaurants. We had a drive over to Brantome, Bourdeilles, Bergerac and visited the market in Riberac. It is located really well to visit the Dordogne region. We also ate at Restaurant Aux Delices de la Treille in Montagrier (15 mins drive) which was lovely food and wonderful views! Thank you John and Lesley for the information provided on where to see and eat, very helpful! We had a great week , thank you once again!

Amazing

We were a party of 8 and we were all impressed with the villa. It is in a quiet location a short drive from Riberac. The villa itself has a lot of land. We played badminton and table tennis. The pool was lovely and our host John and Leslie came most mornings to make sure the pool was clean . We used the pizza oven on a number of occasions and all took turns to have a go at making pizza's. The rooms in the villa were great and the facilities in the kitchen plentiful. We went kayaking in Riberac and did a few trips to the surrounding areas. We spent a fortnight here and was sorry to leave. There was also a sauna and spa but as the weather was so good we didnt use these but having them as an option was another plus. A car is recommended. John and Leslie were very friendly. We would definitely recommend this villa. Thank you for a lovely holiday

Super séjour

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Villetoureix. Tout était parfait, un logement super, très bien fourni, pratique et des hôtes fantastiques; disponible, de bons conseils, agréables. Un super cadre grand espace avec four à pizza, sauna et jacuzzi, très agréable pour terminer la journée . On recommande sans problème.

Relaxing Retreat

The four of us had a great stay...we enjoyed the pool, made pizzas in the pizza oven, used the hotpool lots but didnt get chance for a sauna. The grounds were fab and we enjoyed table tennis and badminton games. The accommodation was homely and comfortable. We loved the terrace and barbecue area. Our dog felt right at home. Lovely base for trips out and we enjoyed visiting Rocamadour and Sarlat and Brantome to mention just a few places. 30 degrees on most days with a few heavy thunderstorms at night . The hosts John and Leslie were fab and were available when we needed them. Great place to stay.

Très bonnes vacances en dépit de la pluie

Très belle maison, spacieuse, immense terrain, magnifique jacuzzi ,piscine TOP . Propriétaires charmants ( bien qu'anglais :-) et extrêmement disponibles. Je recommande vraiment cette maison.

Hele mooie woning in prachtige omgeving en leuke eigenaars

Wij vonden het een erg mooi huis. Het zwembad is groot en diep, wat erg fijn was met 2 pubers die graag willen springen en duiken. Het zwembad is daarnaast geheel omheind en afgeschermd waardoor je op het terras geen overlast hebt van spelende pubers in het zwembad. Het prachtige stuk grond wat bij het huis hoorde verraste ons en was prachtig. Indeling van het huis zou ik anders hebben gedaan qua 1 en 2-persoonsbedden en bijbehorende badkamers, maar dat is enkel persoonlijke voorkeur. We kwamen niets te kort in huis, echt overal was aan gedacht. Eigenaren super vriendelijk en mocht er iets niet in orde zijn lossen ze het zeker direct op. Communicatie in Engels beviel ons ook, zeker omdat wij geen Frans spreken.

Our nice holiday in this family holiday home

Whe had an excellent time at this house. Especially due to the Corona virus, it was very nice that entertainment could be found around the house (spa, sauna, swimmingpool, badminton, table tennis, etc.). Owners John and Lesley were very welcoming and showed us around the property when we first arrived. They are very helpful if you have a problem or question, just ask them. About the house: it's a large and quirky house, some doorways were a little low for us though so mind your head 😉. But the house has everything you need - even a big screen TV with English and French channels. There is Wifi, but the signal wasn't always strong enough. Overall we very much enjoyed our time here and it's very possible we would consider returning here with a larger groupe.

After purchasing the property in 1996, for several years we "commuted" from the UK for DIY/renovation holidays (!) until we decided we preferred life in France and so moved permanently. We're sure you'll love it as much as we do... As we live close by, we are available to help you enjoy your holiday, so can help with advice on places to visit, restaurants, shopping, doctors etc.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We chose the property because of its peaceful location in the countryside, yet conveniently close to town for shopping etc. Ribérac is a sleepy rural town for most of the week, so avoiding the crowds, yet comes alive on Friday morning for the market, which is the biggest in the Dordogne. There are plenty of tourist attractions to visit in the area, many within an hour's drive and open outside of July and August, when you can drag yourselves away from the pool! And of course you can't forget the views!

The spa and sauna add a touch of luxury to your holiday, and together with the pool, terraces and games field, there is something for everyone. The pizza oven has been very popular with all our guests, with everyone having a go at baking their own pizza. As all bedlinen and towels are supplied, you can avoid the huge pile of washing at the end of your holiday, plus of course it's very convenient if you are travelling by plane. All in all, an ideal holiday location, with many of our guests returning regularly. We hope you'll love it too.
