En utmärkt belägen fullt moderniserad traditionell Shepherds stuga betygsatt 3 * av Visit Scotland långt utanför allfarvägen men bara en och en halv mil från den populära staden Grantown på Spey. Stugan ligger på egen hand vid foten av Cairngorms, med en privat väg som går igenom skogsmark och över öppen hedmark - freden här störs bara av betande får. Stugan har moderniserats med rymliga familjerum i öppen planlösning bottenvåningen vardagsrum / matsal / kök med attraktiva trägolv och de ursprungliga stenmurarna, det finns en utmärkt eldstad för vintermånaderna.

Stugan har underbar utsikt över de angränsande Cairngorm-bergen och ner i Spey Valley. Vissa besökare är ganska nöjda med att stanna i huset bara titta på skiftande ljus och färger över det omgivande landskapet snarare än att resa till de många fantastiska intressanta platserna i det lokala området.

Boende för 4 på två våningar: bottenvåningen - Öppen planlösning sittande / matsal Kök, verktyg, duschrum och separat toalett. Första våningen - Dubbelrum, tvåbäddsrum och badrum med toalett.

Amazing stay in an amazing location

We lived the simplicity of the property and it's truly unique and peaceful location. Plenty of walks from the door and otherwise perfectly located for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.

Fabulous cottage

Located on its own track, this cottage is ideal for those who want peace and quiet but is an easy 5min drive from the shops on Grantown. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.

Very peaceful location

If you want total peace and quiet then this cottage is a place to stay. Surrounded by fields and hills and mountains made it so beautiful. Unfortunately it was not very warm when we stayed but having a open fire made it feel so cosy. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the shop is only a short drive away.

Location, location

Peace and quiet! The cottage is located a short drive from Grantown on Spey. The only sound to be heard was the sheep and the pheasants! Lovely walks outside the front door, and many things to see and do in the area. Lovely!

Excellent

Beautiful cottage, totally off the beaten track. Despite the snow and the -15 temp, the cottage was warm and cosy and the open fire was an added bonus. Lots of great walking. An abundance of wildlife. Grantown-On-Spey is a lovely friendly place with a fantastic butchers, bakers and fish and chip shop. Scilla kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed and Tom, the caretaker, was around in case there were any problems, which there weren’t. We had a fantastic, relaxing week just walking the dogs and enjoying the area.

Stunning location & cosy cottage

I didn't want to go home after staying here and neither did my 2 teenagers which says a lot! The most amazing views and peace that you rarely experience anymore, only the birds singing, it was just perfect and only a 5 min drive to Grantown on Spey which had all the amenities required for a holiday. There is so much to do in the area as well, many walks from the door and so many beautiful places to visit. Such a cosy cottage, lovely and warm and plenty of logs supplied for the open fire. It is well equipped and the beds were very comfy. The only thing I can slightly pick at was the fact there were no hand towels, (maybe they'd just forgotten to put them out) I did manage to find one in the linen cupboard so it wasn't too bad!l We will definitely be returning to this absolute gem of a cottage but next time will bring bikes and maybe kayaks as we could have made good use of them in this amazing part of the country.

Perfekt, immer wieder!

Wir verlebten dort eine unvergessliche Woche. Weitab von Menschen waren wir im Wesentlichen nur mit Fasanen und Schafen zusammen. Das Haus ist komplett eingerichtet, auch die Küche. Tolle Betten. Da wir Mitte September dort waren, waren die Abende kühl und wir haben den offenen Kamin geliebt. Holz war reichlich vorhanden. WIFI stabil!!!! Der Weg in die Zivilisation ist nicht so leicht: schmaler, unbefestigter Landweg, der nach Regen auch noch sehr rutschig wurde. Aber alles kein Problem, solange man allein unterwegs war. Die Umgebung bietet SEHR viel Interessantes, z.B. Grantown, Ballindaloch (House+Garden), Highland Folk Museum, Speyside Centre. Wir würden sofort wieder hinfahren. Eine tolle und unvergessliche Woche. Danke Nigel.

Schönes Cottage in ruhiger Lage

Einsam in wunderschöner Landschaft gelegenes Cottage, aber dennoch nahe an der sehr angenehmen Ortschaft Grantown und eingebettet in die Ausläufer der Cairngorms. Das von außen rustikale Cottage ist versehen mit allen Annehmlichkeiten der modernen Zivilisation und bestens ausgestattet.

Wonderful stay in a hidden gem

This was the perfect place, overviewing the valley. Whether the evenings by the fireplace or the glorious mornings, we really loved it. The house is the perfect size for 4 people and bare an electicity general shutdown when we arrived everything was great. Hidden gem.

'Off (tarmac) road' cozy cottage.

This cottage ticked all our boxes. Secluded yet 10 minutes drive from the village Grantown on Spey. Open fire, nice shower, good beds, all the amenities you need after a days hike. We loved it!

Wonderful property

An excellent week in this lovely property. The location is perfect, close enough to Grantown on Spey for groceries and shopping yet far enough away to feel complete isolation and enjoy the stunning 360 degree views. We absolutely love this area and this property was perfect for us.

Beautiful place, so peaceful, well worth a visit

We stayed here for a couple of nights in March 2020, the cottage is very remote and quiet with fantastic views. The place is well decorated, clean and tidy, and has everything you need. The owners were very easy to deal with, we found the place with no problems and really enjoyed our stay If you want peace and quiet and a picturesque highland retreat then this is the place to go We would highly recommend this place

We loved this cottage.. log fire was brilliant and the location is stunning.. we left as the snow came, gutted not to get snowed in.. some amazing walks nearby... this is a typical out in the middle Of nowhere rustic cottage. Has everything you need and nice and clean Hope to return soon
