Denna enkla, charmigt rustika stuga ligger precis över floden Damariscotta, vilket ger lugn avskildhet vid vattnet; vid högvatten hoppar floden stranden under dina fötter. På övervåningen hittar du ett sovrum med dubbelsäng, futon och garderob. Nedervåningen vardagsrumssoffan viker ut till en dubbelsäng. Bottenvåningen inkluderar vardagsrum, fullt utrustat kök och badrum, som öppnar sig mot ett rymligt däck och flottör, som ger tillgång till flera miles av öbelägen utsikt över floden - perfekt för att utforska med kajak eller roddbåt (robåt tillgänglig på begäran).

Dessutom sitter en rest av gamla Maine vid dina fötter - en riktig fungerande strandpromenad, komplett med fiskare, yachter och en blomstrande vattenbruksträd. Hummer och annan skaldjur finns direkt på kajen.

Stugan själv ligger under ett fält 200 meter från en landsväg, sju mil söder om köpstaden Damariscotta.

Waterfront

The location is 4+ directly on a lovely quiet tidal cove. Large deck over the water was super and southwest exposure made for lots of sun/heat in the afternoon. There were many fans. There is easy access to the water with a ramp leading down to a floating dock. This is an old cottage so bring extension cords as outlets are sparse.There is a cheap TV that only plays CDs, a big negative. There is excellent WiFi. The only bedroom is up a fairly treacherous but comfortably wide set of stairs which I decided was best to descend backwards. Mattress on the main bed (I think a queen) was covered with an ill-fitting foam topper. Bed linens were clean. Bring your own pillow(s).There is only one (tiny) bathroom downstairs with an equally tiny sink and shower. The kitchen and supplied appliances were fine. Hot water was excellent as was the drinking water from the tap.There is a useable, clean four burner electric stove/oven, a good sized refrigerator with an up-top freezer. A small microwave sat on top of the refrigerator. Access to the cottage was easy, down 17 large granite steps with a partial but sturdy handrail. Once on the deck level, the view is spectacular and quintessential Maine with at lest 5 functioning lobster boats moored in the cove, most of which were crewed on a daily basis. To the reader: I would consider another stay here depending on my health which at this writing I consider to be quite good. Oh: definitely dog friendly which was a big plus for me.

Simply Perfection

The cottage truly captures the essence of Coastal Maine. With an efficient interior and spacious front deck, it's all you'd want from a vacation cottage. The view out front is ever-changing with the tides and the activities of fishermen and recreational boaters. And if you're lucky enough to have a rainy night outside, there is nothing more cozy than sleeping upstairs with the sound of rain on the roof! Becky, who handles the property is outgoing and helpful. Plenty of activities, food, and sights nearby for visitors, but just staying on the deck and soaking up the atmosphere is a joy.

Beautiful spot!

The location is ideal - water view from the cottage/deck is spectacular, and there are so many things to do and see within a short distance. The cottage is well furnished - very comfortable and cozy. Becky is very responsive should you need anything. Definitely coming back next year!

Cottage @ Back Cove :)

Very cozy and comfortable. You cannot beat the view from the cottage. Space heaters needed when it gets colder but they worked like a charm. Thank you Becky for being a terrific host

Picturesque Perfection

Simple but overwhelmingly special nautical location with just the perfect combination of a charming cove and private location. Oh by the way - the cottage was absolutely wonderful with panoramic views of the cove and all its natural beauty. The quiet was also a welcomed peaceful part of our vacation.

Wonderful relaxing week

We really enjoyed our stay in the Honeymoon Cottage. The cottage was perfect for my husband, adult daughter and me. It was clean, bright and inviting, and it had everything we needed for our week long stay. It was in a convenient location for everything we wanted to do during the week. The best part about it was the view! So beautiful and peaceful! We will definitely stay there again when we return to Maine.

Abosolutely spectacular cottage and location!

The cottage was small but stocked with all we needed plus the location was more than we had hoped for...just feet above the water at high tide with several working boats just offshore. We are in our middle 70s. The steps from the parking area to the cottage were well laid out and no problem for us, The inside stairs to the second floor are no problem as long as one is careful. There is no internet connection but just past parking ares is a connection at a nearby office. But to us the view of the river was all the communication we needed!! Becky communicated well and was very friendly to talk with when we met her. We are planning to go back next year for the views and all the attractions up and down the coast.

spectacular view...so, so wonderfully quiet..Becky is over the top easy to deal with....brand new deck...lovely area in Maine...close enough to Boothbay...they mention the starting up of the lobster boats going out early in the morning....not an issue...you hardly hear them...stairs could be an issue for some..

Special occasion destination

This over the water cottage was a dream! I fell in love with it the minute I found it on line. It’s charming, authentic and one of a kind! And the location is to die for! I was happy just sitting on the deck looking out at the out islands, fishing boats and nature. My 75th birthday celebration was very special ....the whole week was. Quiet, and dreamy.

Unbelievable view!

Our experience with this cottage was an unbelievable. It's right on the water. It was just absolutely beautiful and breathtaking, everything was so thought of for supplies and stocked that we didn't need to bring anything. Our dogs came with us on this trip and this was a first time for them and they has such a wonderful time playing and hang out on the deck right on the water all day long . Our son, 10 years old and us had a blast. Thank you so much! Becky
