Broken/OLD Air Conditioning Unit

This is a lovely house in many ways. But it's important to realise that its two separate units which are not of the same standard. The ground floor is a one bedroom unit that is recently refurbished and is of a very high quality. The first floor unit is two bedrooms, this not newly renovated, the decoration is still very nice, but the Air Con is ancient, and the TV is much smaller and older than down stairs. The first floor unit has a proper full kitchen, the ground floor is much more basic The agent Matteo was a very nice man, who was quick to reply to messages, however he was not able to provide solutions. Immediately on arrival i reported the air con in first floor apartment did not work, the filters on the units were all completely blocked, (really grim actually) - i had hoped if cleaned it would fix the issue, it did not, as Matteo did come the next evening to clean them - So that was the first 24 hours. He said "give it 24 hours to get down to temp" the unit actually started pumping out HOT air. 48 hour passed. There was back and forth - him telling me they were working, "he can see online they are working, the temp is 24 degrees" - while the unit themselves are blowing out hot air next to us and its boiling hot. In the end we had to open all the windows and doors to get some air moving, as the air con unit upstairs simply did not work at all - did not function in ANY capacity - it actually made hot air. To be repeatedly told they are working was beyond frustrating. To pay a very substantial amount of money for a summer rental and this to happen was very annoying and nothing was or has been offered in compensation. Who would rent a house in the height of summer with no air conditioning.... no one. so its very very unfair. The air con in the ground floor worked perfectly, as this is completely new system. The motorised awnings on the house to give shade from the sun were also not working. In the first floor unit, because we had to keep opening windows and doors, we did have an accident with a lamp. The glass lamp was placed right by a window, the cord on blind got caught around the lamp as we were trying to ventilate the apartment one day and it fell over and broke Being expected to pay to replace the lamp given all the problems is a huge surprise...! I am going to pay. But to be asked given all the issues is really absurd. No compensation was offered to us at all. It could be an amazing house with improvements

AMAZING GETAWAY

This is the PERFECT vacation house! We had a range of family members from age 2 to age 88. The location is above the hustle and bustle of Malcesine, but close enough to easily head to town to sightsee, shop and eat. The pool and the grounds were ideal for the kids to swim and play all day and the house is beautifully newly renovated with impeccable style. Finally, our host Matteo was friendly and helpful and continuously available. We will stay here again.
