The pleasant climate and variety of shops, pubs, and restaurants make this a great off-season tourist spot. Mount Cader Idris is a hiking, climbing, and biking paradise. Wildlife along the Mawddach Estuary, trout fishing in mountain lakes, Harlech Castle, St. David's golf course, and Portmeirion Italianate Village are all nearby.
