Hen Stabl - En charmig 1700-talets stenkaraktär stallkonvertering

Hen Stabl är en stenhytt från 1700-talet som ligger i Snowdonia nationalpark. Ursprungligen byggdes stugan som stall till församlingshuset Llanfair. Hen Stabl räddades från förstörelse och renoverades i slutet av 1990-talet genom beställning av Snowdonia nationalpark på grund av dess betydande historiska intresse för byn Llanfair.

Boendet på Hen Stabl har totalrenoverats under de senaste arton månaderna för att inkludera nyinredda kök och badrum. Uppsättningen till Hen Stabl är knäppa och på bottenvåningen hittar du två sovrum, ett badrum som leder från en stor hall. På första våningen finns bostaden med sitt högt välvda tak, det är ett sällskapligt öppen planlösning som består av vardagsrum, matplats och kök.

Det finns gott om parkering på väg framför stugan.

Hen Stabl ligger på ett avundsvärt läge för den som vill utforska Snowdonia nationalpark, de fantastiska stränderna i Harlech och Llandanwg ligger bara 10/15 minuters promenad från ytterdörren. På baksidan av stugan finns en stor trädgård med flera sittplatser som delas med vår andra stuga, Ty Golchi, det finns en direkt gångväg cirka 50 meter från Hen Stabl som leder till kullarna och bergskedjan i Rhinog Fawr.

Home from Home!

The house is an old cottage which has been modernised to give an upstairs living area and downstairs sleeping which is perfect for affording views of the breathtaking surrounding area.The attention to detail within the home is gorgeous from the bedding and soft furnishings to the furniture placing and kitchen accessories, there is nothing additional we could have asked for.It enabled a totally restful break.The Harlech Deli and the view as you leave the house at the top of the road are things we will never tire of!We would recommend whole heartedly.

A wonderful place to relax!!If you’re looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Hen Sabl is the perfect spot.Tucked away in a peaceful location, it’s within walking distance to the beach and close to a village where you can get everything you need for a total chill-out in a cottage that’s equipped to the absolute highest standard, with a beautifully maintained garden. Honestly, you wouldn’t even need to leave—you could just soak in the calm, the silence, and the slow life that defines this place.For those seeking a bit more adventure, all the most beautiful sights of Snowdonia are within 30 minutes to 1.5 hours’ drive, but the views are so stunning that the journey flies by in a blink.We rarely return to the same accommodation twice, but the vibe here was so special that we’ll definitely be back. The hosts were very kind and helpful—they really went the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable.When it comes to non-hotel stays, this one sets the new standard.

Great stay, thank you. Really easy checkin process and thank you so much for leaving us with some milk, coffee and snacks! So handy and much appreciated after a long journey. House is decorated beautifully with everything we needed and everything was spotlessly clean! A little bit disappointed that there was only enough hot water for one of us to have a shower each day, after one 5-10 minute shower there would be no hot water for a good few hours. Regarding the location, you need a car to get around to any shops etc as none within walking distance that we found. There was also no info on local area such as restaurant recommendations etc but we did find a lovely pub which served very good food the Victoria inn. Other than the above we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much!

Christmas stay

We had an amazing stay for Christmas, the cottage was beautifully decorated with Christmas music playing on our arrival. It had everything we needed for a family of four and is in a beautiful location for beach and hill walk, and Gary was on hand of we needed anything We would definitely visit again.

Love Hen Stabl

We had such a great stay. Hen Stabl was exactly as it was said to be and more. Beautifully appointed with everything we needed waiting for us. Touches of home made our stay that much more comfortable - Gary even had a fully decorated Christmas tree in the living room for us :-)) Plenty of space for four of us with super comfy beds and lounge area. Relaxing by the log fire at the end of each day was just as we had imagined. We loved coming "home" after exploring the gorgeous area each day. We loved our visit to Wales and would happily come back to Hen Stabl.

Charming Stay in Harlech

We had a wonderful experience in this special rental. The host was so kind and space was perfect for us. We enjoyed the nearby town, castle, an Afternoon Tea in Port Meirion and a day trip up to Holyhead and Llandudno. We wished we'd had more time this trip to take in the local hiking and lots of other spots. Thanks so much for your hospitality!

Every comfort

We loved having access to the mountains and the sea. Harlech is a charming village. The host provided local treats and staples. He was vey responsive to our needs. We hated to leave!

Traumhafter Garten

Wunderschönes, liebevoll eingerichtetes Cottages. Sehr netter Kontakt mit dem Gastgeber. Tolles Begrüßungsgeschenk. Die Betten waren bequem, in der Küche waren alle notwenigen Utensilien vorhanden. Mit 3 Erwachsenen und 1 Teenager kann es etwas enge werden, mit nur einem Bad. Der Garten war einfach ein Traum und wir haben schöne Abende darin verbracht. Auch kann man vor Ort tolle Wanderungen starten und im Nachbarort gibt es ein gutes Pub. Zum Strand nach Harlech ist es nur eine kurze Autofahrt. Rundum eine tolle, sehr zu empfehlende Unterkunft. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank Gary, dass wir deine Gäste sein durften.

Wundervoll!

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in Llanfair. Gary ist ein großartiger Gastgeber, dem es ganz wichtig ist, dass es seinen Gästen gutgeht. Bei unserer Ankunft lief schöne Musik und es standen einige Leckereien für uns bereit, sodass wir uns sofort willkommen fühlten. Hen Stabl ist sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Gerade der obere Bereich, der sehr hell und geräumig ist, ist total gemütlich. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts und ich kann sagen, dass es das am besten ausgestattete Ferienhaus ist, das ich je gemietet habe. Die Lage ist toll, weil man ganz schnell am Strand ist, aber auch direkt vom Haus aus wandern kann. Jeden Morgen konnte mein Mann sogar mit dem Fahrrad nach Harlech zu dem wunderschönen Laden, der Gary und Adrian gehört, fahren, um frisches Brot zu kaufen. Die Gegend um Harlech herum ist einfach wunderschön und Gary hat uns einige tolle Empfehlungen für Wanderungen und Fahrradtouren gegeben. Die Fahrräder durften wir samt Gepäckträger in der Garage einschließen, was uns ein sehr gutes Gefühl gegeben hat. Nach ein paar Tagen stand Gary nachmittags vor der Tür und überraschte uns mit einer Flasche Wein, worüber wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Wir haben uns auf jeden Fall in Wales und Hen Stabl verliebt und sind froh, dass wir dort zwei Wochen verbringen konnten. Sollten wir in diesem Teil in Wales noch einmal Urlaub machen, wovon ich ausgehe, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder Hen Stabl buchen! Vielen Dank für alles, Gary, und liebe Grüße an Adrian.

Amazing location and beautiful property & grounds

The cottage itself is well presented and had everything in it we needed. The décor is well-fitting for the style of property and has a lovely relaxing feel to it. Lovely and clean, and owners were very welcoming. The grounds offer different areas to sit in and we enjoyed a couple of evenings eating/relaxing outside. This cottage is located in a very beautiful small village and is within easy walking distance of Harlech. The footpath that is almost opposite takes you down across fields to the beach within approx. 15-20 minutes, or 2-3 mins by car via the road. Several of the other roads lead to footpaths that take you up into the hills behind.We will definitely be back to stay there again.

extraordinary stay

It was an extraordinary beautiful house. The entire holiday flat was tastefully furnished to a high standard. The bedroom had enough storage space for clothes and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, clean and met all requirements. All the necessary kitchen utensils were available and of good quality. The living room and dining room area as well as the overall ambience was cosy and beautiful. We were completely satisfied and would love to come back.

We have dreamt of moving to Snowdonia for many years and now the dream has become a reality! We are now enjoying our time managing the cottages at Llanfair and Dolgellau and taking time to soak up the beauty and healthy lifestyle that Snowdonia has to offer. We have brought a house which will be an on-going project as we have lots of ideas and aspersions to make it our perfect home.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We had been looking for a second cottage in Snowdonia to buy as a holiday home and we had specific requirements regarding the location. We wanted a cottage which was close to the beach and preferably with a sea view, we also wanted the cottage to be close to the countryside and mountains. We like to walk and explore so having all of this on our doorstep was important to us. When we came across Hen Stabl we knew that it was the cottage for us as it ticked all of the boxes on our wish list and in November 2017 we collected the keys and started the refurbishment project!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Hen Stabl is situated on the main bus route which services most of the main market towns and villages, it runs at regular intervals and the stop is only just up the lane from the cottage. There is a train stop at Llandanwg and Pensarn; both are only a 10minute walk from the cottage. The train is only made up of two carriages and you have to put your hand out for it to stop! Again it services all of the coastal villages and towns that you’ll probably want to visit. If you wanted to go further afield you can get to Birmingham with only one change!
